  • Where should I mix the paints with their appropriate thinner? in the airbrush or in a separate container then pour it into the airbrush. I've been using a separate container but its really annoying spilling thinned paint everywhere when it may be an unnecessary procedure.

  • the needles bend by looking at them, so be ready to by needle and cones! i have this gun somewhere its a POS Lots of places you cant reach to clean. Cheap parts. I've had the air intake port that you attach your airline to and it fell out on the second day I got it. It had to be re-soldered back together. Its a JUNK

  • Thanks a lot my man! Ive been planning on getting a dual action airbrush for some time and its great to know how to maintain it :]

  • dude, thank you so much, i just bought a airbrush and people who make this kind of tutorials in their free time are the best. this kind of stuff really helps me learn the basics so fast. thumps up and sorry for the bad english.

  • So about the consistence on milk is good to get in the airbrush... could i then spray milk into my mouth with the airbrush? :D Just a derp question :3

  • @2h4d0wDK ah you might want add some Milo or Ovaltine to that milk to get the consistency excellent

  • @Jdeb9 Alright ^^

  • what type of alcool should i use for acrylic craft paint?

  • @maxime5060124 water works OK but i hear that Tamiya have their own special Thinner for Acrylic paints that is commonly used.

  • hey my gun wont shoot paint but will shoot air can u plz help me out

  • In you Vid you had some text pop up about guiding the Needle, Sorry but I must correct you here, the ONLY time the Needle should even remotely contact the Air Nozzle is when you close the needle completely and this nozzle MUST be completely concentric with the Nozzle cover so that the Venturi is even 360 deg around the nozzle.

  • good info! but stop smoking so you can live t

    o air brush longer!

  • what is the name of the airbrush cleaner/stand that you have? can you link to a seller? just got an airbrush and your tutorials are very helpful

  • @jawawookie I actually have a video on that cleaner. Check that out I'm sure I have a link on that video. :)

  • What type of alcohol are you using? I've heard that you shouldn't use 91% or higher but to use rubbing alcohol. What do you suggest?

  • thank you so much for your videos! they helped me a lot! :D

  • Awesome Videos! I subbed!

  • in vietnam, i use some kind of soft fuel, they call its "japan perfumes" t_t, good, not harm to much for your skin, and chip, just 1,5 bucks for 1L

  • I noticed in some other video on Youtube, that it was recommended to pull the trigger back when putting the needle cap on and off, making sure the needle is pulled out of harms way. :)

I also recently rearned about the benefit of using a compressor with a tank, to avoid what is said to be a problem of air pulsating from the compressor with not tank evening the pressure.

Been watching alot of videos lately on Youtube, before going to finally get the necessary equipment for airbrushing.

  • how about methylated spirits or mineral turpentine to clean the airbrush?

  • To clean an airbrush could I use Tamiya acrylic thinner? plz reply someone

  • @Legodude5991 Yes you can. Expensive way to clean your airbrush though

  • @Legodude5991 Depending on the type of paint that is whether it is Solvent or Water based.

For solvent ie Auto Acrylic Lacquer I use a commercial GP Gun Wash, for Water Based paints I use Auto Air 4007 Airbrush Cleaner between colours (I try to go from light colours to dark when working on a piece) but a flush and blow out and spray on white cloth to confirm it is clean. the iwata cleaning station is nice but my $2 plastic teapot modified works a treat.

  • what cam do you use

  • where do you get those big squeeze bottles that you had your alcohol in?

also you can get those little airbrush cleaning brushes at harbor freight stores for about a buck and a half.

  • what do u reccomend a iwata revolution cr or the harder and steenbeck ultra

  • @LIFalcons99 I'm a badger guy but I heard the Steenbecks are really good brusher.

  • @SMConsortium thanks i learned alot

  • I've seen a few of your airbrush vids- thanks- they're very helpful. I got one as a gift a few years ago and never tried it cause I didn't know how to clean it or disassemble/ reassemble.

  • Just getting into airbrushing. Your videos have been a great help. Thanks!

  • Absolute fave tutor for modelling...you rock

  • How much alcohol? 91%? 50%? 40%?

By the way this is the best airbrush help on the web.

  • I use >acrylic airbrush medium< for thinning acrylics.. ,, water and windex...ex strip acrylic of it's binder..

remember acrylic is NOT water based.... it's acrylic polymer based and should only be "cleaned" with water, windex , grandmas recipe...not thinned with it

  • hi i got my airbrush last year worked fine with the paints i used then it just stoped iv cleaned it about 6 times done the water test sprays good cant find nothin broken what you think could be wrong with it ? any help would be great and nice vid :D

  • @provokedninja Not too sure. There's not much info there. ;) Better mail me so we can try and figure it out there. :)

  • Lol to echo MoreDakka, this series has been really awesome! Thanks for sharing DK!

  • watching all these videos I'm almost an expert :) LOL

  • @MoreDakka101 LOL

  • @MoreDakka101 well with a name like moredakka how can't you be

  • @lolomgswearwords well you might argue that more dakka refers to always wanting the biggest gun. Not necessarily knowing how to use it or being a very good shot ;)

  • @MoreDakka101 true but dont let and ork know that

  • Actually, your supposed to pull the needle from the FRONT, not back! if you pull back it pulls paint back in the chamber behind.

Ooh & i think you need to wear gloves, your fingers look cracked because of contact with thinner!

  • @AdrianNtart YUeh, Skin was dry from all the sanding I've been doing on a bunch of resin I casted for icons for my space wolf army.

  • what should I use for Tamiya paints

  • @SimpleModels Cheap way, using 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Expensive way, Tamiya's Lacquer Thinner.

  • @SMConsortium I can't find lacquer thinner anywhere could would it still be okay if I used their acrylic thinner instead?

  • @SimpleModels To clean your airbrush? Yeh, acrylic thinner can work too. But you can use alcohol as well. Whatever can keep your brush clean will work.

  • @SMConsortium thats great can't wait until Christmas :)

  • Great airbrush the velocity just got mine yesterday and it's sweet!

Need the cleaning station now! Boy its sensitive me like!!! :)

but i sometimes get the front cap off to clean the needle if it get's gunk on it you know! :) With a cotton bud!

  • @tenka45623 right on!

  • An alternative way to pull it apart so as to ensure minimum contact with needle point.

    It goes like this:

Loosen the needle chuck then pull the needle back so its no longer in contact with the nozzle an inch or so will do the trick.

Then remove the nozzle assembly at the front including the nozzle.

Having removed the nozzle you can push the needle all the way forward and pull it out from the front. Then put back together in reverse order and you wont bend your needle tip.

  • @92ilyas That's a good way to do it. I'll put it in the next RR. I don't usually worry about it anymore and just mindful about what I'm doing. :)

  • Great vid as usaul . What is the clener you mentioned when doing a deep clean please ? I have been told that every now and then to put glyerine thought the airbrush to lub it is his correct . Mixed with water 2/ 8 ratio?

  • @TheSeasonman1 I use Turpeniod usually. I never used glyerine

  • grate work! Ty for the videos. You just might have made me ask the wife to get me an airbrush for Xmas. I had one but i never learned how to use it that much but a fire took all my tools and stuff so that's all I have to say thank you and keep it kool

  • @DEMONJESTERJ Nice! :)

  • Very good video bro. One thing to note... from my experience its best to hold the trigger down while inserting the needle back into the airbrush. This prevents it from the possibility of bumping into the trigger assembly inside the airbrush and bending the tip of it. Needles aren't cheap and you really want to be extra careful with them.

  • @Darthburn That's a damn good tip. I'll get that into the next RR

  • i love the series, the question that i have is what do you clean ur airbrush with when you use the vallejo primer, i usually use tamiya spray primer.

  • @xxodin75xx I usually use alcohol then vallejo airbrush cleaner and then rinse it out with water.

  • good show (:

  • @svinehunden :)

  • big thumbs up!

Loving the series man - very VERY helpful :D

  • @linkinhearts666 Thanks!!!
