This video inspired me to procreate! lol! The video is a amazing intellectual concept! And as for the song, any covers fail miserably because of the beat. That beat belongs to Massive Attack and almost overpowers the lyrics, thats why such a quirky singer had to be used. I can never listen to this song low, it has to be loud! It creates such a atmosphere, of almost complete solitude. You would'nt want to talk whilst this song is playing. Try playing this and Tori Amos pro. widow back to back! ;)
When I was younger and watched this video, it scared the crap out of me when the baby started to 'sing' it still kinda does, but now it's actually kinda cute. lol.
the singer is Elizabeth Fraser from the disbanded Cocteau Twins and at the time she was pregnant for the second time. Her second daughter is called Lily and lives with her and her husband Damon Reece in Bristol
yeah real nice, i have this in my head a lot and just found the title. Oh and i just bought a techno remix where the breakdown is true to the original :oO lol dont freak out i mix techno every day and occasionly a remix of a "pop" song will come out that is real nice. Peace
I once read or heard that the singer was pregnant in 8 or 9 months when she recorded the song, and this gave the concept of the video. I always pictured that she wrote the lyrics as she found out that she was pregnant. I also think that the song gives a mix of happiness and anxiety, as pregnant women realize that this is the beginning of something important that would change their lives.I don't think that the song was written as an anti-abortion theme, it kinda became that later
@granatagirl13 hello corkrebell here i liked the comment on teardrop from massive attack that you made ive just been looking through a few videos mostly the part about a mix of happiness and anxiety on this video is what struck a cord thank you
