Looks like you're overswinging it a bit. I do the same, if you look at my swing video. It's good for power, but not great for consistency. You've got a great swing, so you shouldn't need to tweak much.
Try and keep your weight disributed evenly. It looks like you're shifting it backwards and tilting your upper body to compensate and keep on balance.
pretty good takeaway, but at :06 at the top of the swing you lose a little tilt from the over swing causing a lean in the direction of the target.... resulting in a scooping motion to ensure 'ball first' contact. maybe try shortening the swing a little?
the stance is great and everything looks good. you might be over swinging a bit however. Great change of weight from right to left, and very good hip movement. You do not need to swing that far back.
@msatrakkoic1 . Acutually if you look at the left foot, on a good transition the weight should plant back into the same footprint. He actually goes backwards which is not helpful. Also if you look at player like Jamie Sadlowski's who is a long drive champion. His hips MOVE alot and dictate the pace of your swing. This guys hips go to the ball instead of level. look at youtubedotcom/watch?v=EZ0dNIP-yoU&NR=1 and you'll see an EXTREME fast swing with perfect level hips noted by the white belt
Great swing for a driver. Even then a little long, but looks good. Try a shorter more compact swing with not as wide a stance for your irons, there all about accuracy and control, not length. You will be surprised how far the ball go's with a shorter swing. You would benefit from watching Jack Nicklaus "Golf My Way" good luck.
@assphincter One could percieve your question as you being a jackass, however you make a very useful observation. Everyone's swing in the world is different. All that matters is where it goes.
The pure golf swing is void of conscious effort. It happens and can not be accomplished trying to copy another persons swing.
From the little instruction and training I got, you are turning your whole body (hip includes) on your backswing which is not recommended as it reduces your consistency.
But your impact and follow through looks great!
If you could comment on my video response it would be great I'd appreciate any hints or tips.
from 0:08 to 0:10, how do you keep both of your arms so straight and what do you do to square up the club face and not breaking the angle of ur wrist?? Please watch me swing and help me out.....
looks like a good swing, but try not to get the club past paralell at the top, keep it paralell to the ground because that can cause a figure 8 type swing, which is usuallly not good
too wide of a stance always should be shoulder width or even less, your picking up your body a little initially on your take back. and you're taking the club back too far. other than that it looks ok your follow through is very good.
Great swing. I assume you're posting so that people critique you so that you can become even better. If I were your instructer I'd suggest that you tighten up the swing i.e. nice tight back swing with weight getting transferred to right side on back swing without loss of posture i.e. reverse pivot tendancy. You have the essentials right. Nice open hips at impact, nice tempo etc. No big change. Just tighten it up.
Nice powerful looking swing. I agree that you stay on your left side a bit too much, however you get in a great position at impact, staying within your stance and your belt buckle towards the target as you release the club. If you're consistent, then don't change a thing!
I can't believe that people are critiquing your swing based on a youtube vid. People are far too concerned in how a swing "looks" these days rather than the end result. Sure there are fundamentals, but aside from holding the club and hitting the ball, not too much else matters.
I think you're swing is great, seems like you've got a lot of power and know how to use it. It's got a great "old fashioned" look to it, rather than the assembly line modern (tiger) swing.
Looks good, yes some ppl are swing nazis around here, you obviously go farther than parallel on ur backswing because ur left elbow bends at the top, thats ok, stance is fairly wide but you still get good rotation, focus on some rearward weight shift and keep the weight on the insides of your feet, nice swing.
your head also lifts up when your taking your club away, your head will move right to left naturally during swing but try keep it level till after impact and you'll have more consistancy in your swing.
if your hitting your irons too high, then you should get your hands a little further ahead of the ball cause your hands seem to be right in line with the ball at impact - a good swing thought would be too imagine your hands getting to your left should at impact
overall good, but you typically don't take a 7 iron past 100% or even 100% for that matter. And you might not want to cock your wrists so early and steep.
steeley360's comments are probably the stupidest thing I've ever read.
Did your ball go to the target? Well, if it did, that was a pretty good swing. It doesn't matter how you get it there...it matters if it gets there or not. Do whatever it takes to get the ball in the hole in the least amount of strokes!
well not a bad swing, all you need to work on is keeping a bit of flex in your right knee on the backswing, cos at the mo it's probably straight,if you keep your right knee flexed it will probably stop your overswing
puke ! trying to hard to be young and flexable

I bet you hit 1 out of 5 of those shots decent. Your right leg straightens out in your backswing which is a big no no.

Why do people post videos of their golf swing? Who cares what it looks like? All that matters is if the ball goes where you want it.

i agree with a wide stance, try keeping your left leg in the same place during rotation, you recieve and give more torque that way

try to keep club parallel to target...dont get it past 180 degrees. Also start your swing by rotation not sway

Good swing IMO but you do have a bit of a reverse pivot. You seem to stay on your left foot through the swing.

you need to keep your head down longer and resist your hip turn, it'll give you more power and more length. without the loss of control
