I have read plenty of books on MACV-SOG and none mention any training by Australian special forces. Their combat record speaks for itself.

the british sas disbanded in 1945 renewsembled in 1947 keeping original british sas traditions but was modelled in a lot of ways on the australian z special unit.
as are all aussie special forces we have today.

By 1969 the US Special Forces in Vietnam were highly experienced and trained men. Also the US Army Rangers were not based on the SASR, they are completely different in size, composition and mission. Rangers are more akin to our Commandos.

I have read plenty of books on MACV-SOG and none mention any training by Australian special forces. In fact most MACV-SOG members were drawn from the SEALS and Green Berets they were in absolutely no need of training from Australians, they were just as good or better than SASR soldiers. Their combat record speaks for itself.
