the stray cats are way better than brian setzer orchestra but the audio on this vid is awful. brian setzer needs to give up the big band and get back with the stray cats.
The Cats in their prime. Lee sounding amazing. Brian at his all tin=me best and Sir James ALWAYS hittin' not missin'. THIS was my absolute best time of my life ever. it was 1983 and the Cats were on the prowl.. I miss my old life (sincerely). Life moves on and others enter your life and have adiferent take on things, but ultimately THIS was the Stray Cats. Mikey xx
All kinds of dirty homo boys we got on the stage... Wonder who really consuming their manipulation shit ? Far away from Eddy Cochran and never in the same path with Elvis...
to me, THAT is really the only BIG problem with rockabilly, everybody's looking for the Jerry Lee, Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Elvis, Carl Perkins etc. classic sound, so that EVERY band sounds the SAME! In the 50's all of the rockers got their own sound, Eddie got the guitar-sound, Little Richard got his intense vocals, Gene got his macho-aura in his vocals, Jerry Lee was hitting the piano harder than anybody else, and Carl Perkins got his guitar, like Eddie, but still different and so-on...
And in the seventies, most of the bands didn't sound original, not a one bit (expect for the few neo-rockabilly-bands)! And then came the stray cats, and it blew the Rockabilly scene, and it was original again, then came psychobilly! Soon, rockabilly would be so wide, every single band SHOULD sound original, but no... It's still mostly stuck in the 50's, sure there are many bands that sound GREAT, but most of the unknown bands sound like... 50's...
To me Stray Cats is the most NON homo band of the 80s..The rest were in fact..gays. Name another band of that era without gays in it..So Mikey you're wrong:-) Not that i mind gays, Little Richard did/does a great job while being bend as a horseshoe.
