I will dedicate this song to Caroline Jensen the girl who decided to screw half the base while I was getting shot at in Afghanistan. She is getting everything she deserves right now
North Beach days, San Francisco, few years after their break up I would see lead singer Sal selling racing forms on friday nights at old Bay Meadows Racetrack in San Mateo.. Nice to talk with, but I felt sorry for his short career... tough competion during British Invasions Beatles, Animals, The searchers...
These guys put San Francisco on the rock n' roll map back in early 65' and were likely the first folk-rock band as well considering this song predated The Byrds version of Dylan's Mr. Tambourine Man by about 3 months.
Awesome recording! even after all these years. excellent pics, too....well done! We knew them in the 80's in San Francisco...Dec Mulligan was our mentor, friend and producer of out 1983 45 single : that's a long time ago...thanks for posting.
Did they appeared in a Flintsones episode?

The harmonica plays a rather horrid bum note at 1:13. I'd never noit before, and now I can't help noticing it every time I hear the song.

produced by stewert "sly" stone. does anyone have an unedited version of this? the harmonica break is edited about 10 seconts at 2:00.

Yeah Sal had a Lennonish voice that conveyed so much .. but I only know a couple of their songs. Harmonica and Sal's voice makes the song great.
