  • I Love The Video It Can Increase My Knowledge Testing a home made wind generator on a windy day on top of the USU Engineering building.

  • Nice Video That You Share , So Very Nice Thanks You Testing a home made wind generator on a windy day on top of the USU Engineering building.

  • I Really Like The Video From Your Testing a home made wind generator on a windy day on top of the USU Engineering building.

  • Your Video Is Very Useful Sharing Testing a home made wind generator on a windy day on top of the USU Engineering building.

  • Laugh generator...

  • Now add a gearbox to it so u can really charge a battery bank ,with only 18volts without a load on it would fall a bit short of the voltage needed to charge a 12volt system ,you would need at least 24 to 36 volts without a load, your on the right track guys.Have fun always

  • Fun to watch. That's the spirit now.

  • to measure length, thickness and diameter PVC pipe is?

  • Una hélice que da vueltas y dos chicos que se ríen, ¿es para colgarlo en Yotube?

  • s owhy do you want to generate more wind?

  • good

  • how to make a egg cutter :D

    well: watch this vid.

you only need to throw an egg into it :]

  • Very cool

  • did you see how close the guy pass the wind turbine blades? he could have gotten cut up good....very dangerous....Maybe a safety device to brake the wind turbines blades?

  • Nice You can run your Jacuzzi up on the roof!

  • what were the ratings on the motor you used? (ie. RPM, Voltage, DC-AC, etc.)

  • ye guys U R great, respect 2 U=))

  • How RPM?

  • EXCELLENT MY FRIEND JEJEJEJEJEJ

  • nice!!!

  • dangerous

  • @15ratsnabag Have you considered using gears to increase the speed for the generator/alternator?

  • @skolic85 - Yeah we considered it but this was for a school project and we ran out of time before we could do more modifications to it.

  • @15ratsnabag Aah, ok... anyhow, nice work! Is it possible to receive more information about this design? If so, could you e-mail some specs to me? I'm experimenting with different designs and creating models for testing.

  • What did you make the blades from?

  • @clintsmith96 - We Made them from a 10" PVC pipe

  • wooooow!!!!

  • what is your key point?? he he he he ha ha ha ha ??

  • he's very similar ;)

  • is the man in the right is brainiac? ;D

  • That was cool demo- too bad you didn't measure energy at that level...

  • Chuck Norris would jump through them blades.........

  • @superjezz shut up TROLL!!!

  • @assface902 umm no...... noob

  • @superjezz actually chuck noris got his shoulder broken by a ten year old (he is almost 80yo you know)

  • @marcuspinson Must have been his grandson then, Cause sometimes that kind of toughness skips a generation.

  • @superjezz actually it was just a regular kid

  • @marcuspinson no it wasn't.......

  • @superjezz it was one of the kids in his dojo

  • Great video, No wonder so many Liked it. Subscribe to my channel if you like SOLAR ENERGY. Happy Holidays Everybody.

  • How many "watts" of energy does this thing produce?

  • how much wind does this produce? considering it is a WIND PRODUCER as the title says.

  • nice design!

  • Nice job

  • AWESOME! Guys! I graduated from USU also.

  • "I'm gonna die!" :D

  • @12345senoj birds are smarter than that dumbass - it's been proven

  • @GT109 well thousands of birds are killed every year by wind turbines

  • @12345senoj prove it. post data. this is a bogus issue.

  • @12345senoj

Well logicly it wouldnt get sucked into it because its not powered? The blades are just turning in pace with the wind, not faster than... Thats why you have the tail fin to point the blades INTO the wind...

  • BLOWING AWAY LoL

  • Hi, great video!

The blades are made out of pipes I assume?

  • Thats a hand chopper offer

  • SOOOOOOO close to matching the camera's refresh rate at 0:30 xD It would have been epic if it was going at just the right RPM that it appeared frozen on cam xD

  • that's very dangerous testing there. be careful.

  • "I don't feel safe" lol great job!

  • guess you didn't realize but someone coulda gotten hurt...

  • lol

  • so, how did you cut your arms off again? lol'

  • didnt anyone notice that the blades are turning the wrong way?

Trailing edge into the wind-imagine the speed if they bolted the blades on right-whoo weee

  • Seems like it, but maybe the wind was coming from behind them.

  • lol,

  • Should really have mounted it!

  • damn right! some people just belong at a desk, I guess. they got a pretty good position on top of that building. how many stories were they up, I wonder?

  • how many of these to power your house is it legal?

  • In USA just the gas is legal, USA rules.

  • "These" as in these exact models, probably a large number. A professionally made turbine in the right conditions though can almost do it alone; as for legality, it's legal in the US.

  • how much energy does this turbine produce... ?

  • The biggest reading that we were able to measure was 18V and 3A. The Fastest we got it going was in the clip and we didnt hook up the meter that time.

  • @15ratsnabag nice job, do you know that 6A are enough to kill!! btw i'd like to build my own.. greetings from electronic eng. in Padua (Italy)!!

  • @adamz1988 50mA is enough to stop your heart, so never use both hands to complete a circuit. (see Darwin Awards for gory details)

  • nice job guys! did you build your own stator and rotor(s)?

  • We were able to get a Permanent Magnet DC motor off of a treadmill. Thought about making our own but we didnt have enough time to get it done for our class.

  • LOL That brings back a thrilling and scarey memory of holding my first 4.5 foot prop mounted on a tape drive motor at the beach. ADRENALYN is better than coffee by far. I swear its addictive.

    MUDDy

  • The blades look good.

  • offgridhomesteading. c om we are trying to get it setup to host free plans and help to those that want to go off grid. We are still pretty new so don't flame us too much :)

  • great job guys. Just curious is that your own blade design? I sell a ebook online that has blades that look really close to that. What is the diameter of that? Looks like about 8 feet.

  • The blade design came from a website we followed. Sorry, but I can't remember the URL. The pipe is a 41" length 8" diameter tube that we cut into four blades.

  • carefull dudes, with that wing span you could be asking for trouble by holding it by hand, think safety, I like how your mate bolted when things got wild, what are mates for hey.

  • You forgot to add the brake? OH!, next time..

  • That was funny!

& maybe a form of child abuse as well. Ha,ha! Good job on that turbine!
