  • YOU MADE THESE?! thats awesome man! you're really good!!!!

  • Wow. I mean wow. You have done an amazing job on all your work, I can tell your dedicated to making it the best it can be. I loved this movie, especially the "FLDSMDFR." I hope you continue making such amazing animations like this. I adored the Harrey Podder vid :)

  • @xxxNarglesxxx Thank you so much for the great comment. I love my job and love doing this every day for a living.

I actually think it's time to update my demo reel. I've worked on 3 more movies since Cloudy. it's time I update the reel.

  • Awesome. AWESOME.

  • this is so cool - I can't believe I have the chance to congratulate the person who animated this movie I went to a while ago with my girlfriend - she liked the movie too a lot so from us both awesome job sir !

  • @GagaManMusic Thank you so much. It's so great to hear from people that like the movie because even though we get to hear the box office numbers we never hear first hand what people thought. So thanks for letting me know. I appreciate it.

  • I don't know if its fun or difficult to animate all the weird facial expressions in these scenes, but you did them brilliantly.

  • @soulstealer450 It's both fun and difficult. A lot of thought has to go into something to make it stupid yet believable. Thanks for taking the time to appreciate it.

  • @stodoe Thankyou for replying. And alot of thought clearly did go in, most of these scenes were the ones that made me laugh the hardest (along with the snowball fight).

  • @soulstealer450 Yeah the snowball fight was great. My friends Matthew Munn and Eric Lees did a lot of that. It was such a fun movie to work on.

  • @stodoe Im not surprised. So, for the animators, do you all just get assigned a few different sections to animate and then they're all pieced together?

  • @soulstealer450 yep. that's exactly what happens. There are a bunch of teams of animators and each team is assigned numerous scenes. ex. the snowball scene. Then they divide the scene up between the animators on that scene. It's nice when sometimes you get a nice chunk of a scene that all the shots hook up to eachother. Sometimes we're not so lucky. So we have to work very closely with eachother to make sure the hook ups work for continuity.

  • @soulstealer450 Also you can see at the very beginning of the demo reel I got like 16 shots in a row of Sam and Flint talking. That almost never happens. You never get that many shots in a row. But because the shots were so close and they slowly get more impatient or excited it had to be very continuous and believable. So I asked for the shots and they trusted me with them.

  • @stodoe Well, you did a great job and they're trust seemed well placed. And that seems like a pretty good system of animation considering I heard some frames can take up to 9 hours to create in 3-D animated films.

  • hey i never knew you did some of the animation in this movie! you're really great at it! keep up the good work!

  • Really nice work man :)

  • It's so neat that you were a part of making Cloudy & Surf's Up. I really enjoyed both of those (& reviewed Cloudy). :D

  • wow i love your animation but being an animator must be a sad life when you get absouloubtly no recognition =(

i'm thinking of going to uni when i finish highschool and studying for it but do you know if you can work for yourself and make your own movies/ tv shows?

  • I kinda doubt you made these :\

  • @Kwanami231 really? why do you say that? Check the credits of those movies under animation. Look for my name.

  • @stodoe Wow. I just did. LOL im wrong. YOUR AMAZING!

  • @Kwanami231 he worked on several of the more popular recent animated films such as how to train your dragon, kung fu panda, and this

  • @Kwanami231 he did, if u watch the credits, his name is there

  • FLS...SU...FDFR

  • You totally got to animate the best scene in the movie.

    "FLDSMDFR".

  • @KatziiYataki totally right! jaja

    Congratullations!!

  • Each time I watch the beginning I think I love the expressions more and more! First time I see the movie I laughed but I really watch it and it just makes me laugh all the more.

  • FLDSMDFR

  • Same here! Beautiful work! I loved those scenes! Facial expressions really get me and Flint had a plethora of them!

  • Brilliant stuff there! I especially love your facial expression work. Your action stuff is really nice too, loving the real slapstick style :)
