  • hey, why is it that when i use my sample. my drum loop dissappear when i play the samples

  • Look my vidéo !!!

  • --- SP1200 BOOK OFFICIAL ---

    see website : sp1200-thebook. com

  • mp3 samples are wack as fuck

  • Just so you know it's better to use an recording interface. Ur sound card in ur computer isn't designed for that.

  • how old is this?

  • 2006...

when i dropped my 1st CD "tha 1da years"

  • @ld101 where's your 1200?

  • real dope shit brother...you make it look so effortless

  • Dope.real hiphop

  • oh, and dope beat btw.

  • i noticed that you acidently move the fader one time before putting it on mixer. happens to me all the time also. :D

  • i need this

  • mp3 ? :(

  • what was the polyphony of the sp 1200?

  • nick dilla jkajkajkajkajkajka

  • Real Hip-Hop

  • you damn right! I have been dissed and given the thumbs down for making the same comment! Why!? I try to spread knowledge and young cats don't want to hear it. L A Z Y

  • damn man, im feel sorry for ya ... you are just like jesus ... YOU TRY TO SPREAD KNOWLEDGE AND YOUNG CATS DONT WANT TO HEAR IT ... that so sad man ... you should make a love song about it, or maybe it is because you, spreading knowledge that u have from ur mom to other kids ... but that aint the way we do it ... we do it the way we wanna do it, lay down to your fucking chair, and make beats with your fucking finded samples, and feel like a better producer if u are diging everything, PATHETIC ;)

  • lol, ok yeah there are rules you learn just by being in the culture and around people who do what you do. And my mom? Yeah I got knowledge from her vinyl collection when I was a kid. As far as me making a love song about it? Every song I make is showing love to the culture. So...like you said, you can "do it the way we wanna do it" and I will "lay down to my fucking chair and make beats with my fucking finded samples and feel like a better producer".

  • why are u still writing me? dont you fucking get it? I DONT GIVE A FUCK about what you say, i am not in some culture, i am living by my rules, in my home, so dont try to tell me what i should do ... you know nothing about style ? Being different ... its all about it, and its many ways how to do it ... so fuck the rules, live like you want ... its the same as with the law ... fuck the law ... fuck the rules, this is life ... not chess

  • ok sir. (walks away with head down)

  • LIFE IS CHESS SON!!!!!! you gota make moves but your gona find shit if you dont think about the moves you make first.

  • DITC its about the sounds you get and the warmth of the drums and the warmth of the record you cant recreate that if you want tru hip hop sound you cant buy that drum kit you have to search and find sick drum brakes sample them chop them up and make your owne beat. but you probably use a 808 kit and make tracks about a DANCE. if you dont dig you dont know what hip hop is, you know what HIP POP is and thats PATHETIC! USING A DRUM KIT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT those are the rules.

  • and again and again ... i am saying you ... WHO CARES RETARDS? I DONT GIVE A FUCK

  • if you dont give a fuck then you will never be any good at making beats you have to expand and try new things to be good at anything you do. shit prove me wrong send me a link to your beats put your money where your mouth is.

  • and who are you to judge me? god of music? how can you say that when i use sometime drums from drum kits i will not make good beats? show me your work mr.knowledge, my music is here on my youtube profile ;) making beats aint just about where you get samples dude

  • I actually liked that one beat on your profile so take it to the next level or at least try somthing different it dont hurt to try new things it could take your shit to new hights shit high tek samples live drum sounds thats what I am going to try next I have never done that but thats what life is about trying to better your self thru tring new shit

  • i agree, but tryin new shit is even using drum kits, and i dont know high tek samples, and i dont have live drum sounds

  • Nice flip of the Roy Ayers joint

    -Broke

  • 2:39 reminded me of the intro to Lamont Dozier's Rose something awful!

  • he looks like hustle man from martin... lol

  • nice

  • GOT ONE FOR SALE! HIT ME UP! SP1200

  • no, i dont think so, i think that dont matter, its about making music, not searching samples

  • man is theres only water up in the mountain and u go there to get water in glass and when u come back i ask u for that glass, would you share it???

NO because u did the effort of going up the mountain and i just waited for you to come with water..

    thats the explanation

  • what is so wrong about using someones drums? i am creating music, i am not creating samples and sounds ... so please, can you tell me why its so bad to use someones samples? i think that it dont matter if u sample it, or u already have it sampled from someone else ... i dont understand why are you making this such a problem, explain the difference to me please

  • There are some sample based beatmakers (like myself) who take digging seriously. For us, it is a HUGE part of the process and it feels GREAT to find every sound in the beat. I think a lot of it has to do with the generation your from. I'm 32 and one of the rules from my school is "dig for your own". Its about respect, ethics, tradition, paying dues, and most of all, fun. I'm guessing your a younger cat, or just started making beats, no?

  • i take it seriously too, but even if u sample the drums or use the drum kit, no one from us is playing drums for real ok? and where you get those rules? have you some magic book? how to be the great producer that dont use the drum kits ... ? Its not about respect and ethics ... its about that i like the way i do it and i dont give a fuck what you thinkin about my style of production, and who cares how old am i? and who cares what are u saying? I DONT GIVE A FUCK, do it my way ;)

  • reminds me of tribe ill shit none the less

  • what drum kit is that u used in this video? or can someone pls send me message with name of some good classic old school drum kits? PLS HELP ME THX

  • james brown kits are cool buy some records of him and you will find what you need

  • find your own drums

  • a couple of questions. could u record what ur doing back into the computer into a software sequencer perhaps? does the sp1200 have a "tap ur own tempo" feature like the akai?

    thanks

  • i've never heard anything new from this kid... where you been hiding Nick? haha :)

  • new ish comin REAL soon--been hella busy!

  • yo call me what you want,i never knew you could hook a computer to a sp1200 ?

and homie did it on simple shit just a cord from pc to sp. damn

  • What cable was running from the laptop to the sp? Was that a headphone jack adapted to an RCA?

  • an audio cable

  • don't use an adapter.. you get some artifacts with it. they are little, but they are there.

  • Any way around that?

  • Man this makes me

    wanna get a SP. SO

    hard to find though!

  • nice work

  • very nice

  • hey man, could you post this joint on ur myspace or something? I wanna hear this heat without all the compression and artifacts!

  • Sheed!

  • yessssirrrr!!!!!!!!

  • Ah yesh, worrd up!

  • lol the vid compressor makes the sample sound like a car horn

  • The audio compression on this video does not do your music any justice. Nice, smooth beat, though.

  • easy sample

  • "say word" lol

  • Reminds me of 'A Tribe Called Quest - The Love'. Very Niceee

  • yo i'd love to see another video of you putting together a beat from scratch on the sp.

  • That's a crazy sample. Did you mess with it or was it like that off the record, it felt like it had an effect on it, maybe it was just me.

  • everyones is on this tip...all hail to pete rock for helping create this sound.

  • Roy Ayers is a genius. The SP-1200 sadly don´t appear in other countries in the Golden Era of Hip Hop (1988-1994).
