Exactly the right video I needed for reboxing my Eee PC to sell it. I used it 8 months. Now with so many hot competitors selling greatly improved netbooks, it's time to sell while I can still hope to get $200. I like the Acer series with the Intel Atom, a full GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD. Still about the same size and weight as the Asus.

Apple is the company that lost its mind... They did the same, except their laptop costs about 5 times as much. Don't get me wrong, I love Apple, but for what you would use it for, this computer provides much better bang for your buck.

I don't believe the cat comes with any pre-installed software, however I don't believe that particular breed comes with a standard CD drive either.

Does the eee pc's card reader support SDHC cards? I'm planning to buy an 8gig class 2 card for my eee pc. Just want to make sure if it will work with my eee.

Yes, the Eee can read SDHC cards in its built-in card reader. But, if you're running Windows on it and plan to install apps to the card, which is a good idea, opt for at least a Class 4, or preferably a Class 6.

Asus has done a great job and they are the best out there, most reliable and they have strict guidlines to ensure maximum hardware quality.

Asus just didnt realise how valuable this kind of pc is to the public.

For everybody considering the Eee PC, BUY IT! I got a black version for Christmas this year and it's fantastic. The Linux is great and the portability is sweet. BUY NOW! Every thing's so small - it's amazing.

Asus have confirmed that the rumours of 8.9" or 10" versions are just that - Rumours. They state that they have no plans in the near future of releasing such a model or models.

I'm assuming that you could easily add a external hard drive, but could you use a usb optical drive to view dvds and what not? It seems likely if you have xp atleast.

Yes you can add an external USB drive be that hard drive or optical drive.

There is also support for XP which is detailed in the laptops manual.

The battery life is officially rated at 3.5 hours, but you'll probably get closer to 2.5-3 if you use WiFi and keept he screen fairly bright.

Yes, it can run Doom 3. The graphic card can at least, not sure about the processor if it can handle it. How do I know, I have a laptop with crappier graphic card than the EEE. It ran, though really bad on lowest graphics :P

And older quake games it can.

The Eee has a 900mhz Intel Celeron M, so it may be able to run it. I'm pretty sure it can do World of Warcraft, if you had windows on it.

I would also recommend the XO laptop as an alternative to this one, if you don't like the way this one looks or if you are looking for a way to donate to others and buy a present at the same time. Google it if you're interested. This one seems nice too, either way.
