I am a Psychologist who has worked in the field of gerontology for over 15 yrs in both clinical and private settings.
I can attest that McCain very very clearly suffers Alzheimer's Disease. There are several dementias but his symptoms point to Alzh.

Even though this was such a big mistake, I can almost guarantee that the internet is the only place you'll ever hear about it. If Sarah Palin was introduced as Barack Obama, the news would be all over it.
I highly doubt the news will even mention this, unless they twist it around somehow to blame it on the Republicans.

Thats how it used to be. The constitution says that the person who receives the most electoral votes is president, and the person who wins the second most votes is vice president.
That provision was changed by the 12th amendment.
