Fuck you Jon, you're not Iced Earth anymore. These guys are, and you're jealous as hell.. The only thing people remember from "your" band is Matt and Tim. Nobody care about your constant triplets anymore. I want to see a Barlow/Owens show.
his high notes are far better, cause they are in his range, he is a tenor. matt is a baritone and has to use the falseto scream all the time. ripper has not much low notes though... if you hear this song with barlow in his last concerts you will see that he cannot use the scream as he could when he was young... maybe that's why he left the band again. you cannot psuh your nature to do things you are not ment to do all the time, nature will take its revenge. i am a baritone too and i know...
@WarrioRAbsolutE dude u may be a baritone but u know nothing!!!! owens uses the falseto scream and barlow uses his real voice. In addition, barlow has a better range than owens and he couldn't have left the band because he couldnt sing c'mon man be serious, barlow is a great great singer...
@51pedophile hey mr pedophile barlow does not uses his own voice on high notes! both of them uses the falsetto technic but barlow has an even lower voice than ripper. Lower voices have more falsetto notes. If you knew about singing you should knew it. Barlow had a really nice voice but didn't have a good technic and the knowledge how to manage it well and he ruined it early. It happens a lot in metal it's not new. Ripper's voice is build better to sing these high notes either you want it or not.
@WarrioRAbsolutE I agree, although I don't think Barlow ruined his voice at all. Listen to his last concert in Wacken, his high notes are crystal clear as always, and he hits almost the same (if not THE same) notes Ripper can hit.
@HeavyMetalHolyMan1 You can't believe that Jon Schaffer let a man with a natural talent for high shrieks sing a song chock full of high shrieks? Really? Tim Owens was a great fit for Iced Earth, he was like a turbocharged version of John Greely from the second album. What's actually outrageous was that he was fired IN THE MIDDLE OF A TWO-ALBUM CONCEPT PIECE just to appease Barlow fanboys.
If Jon Schaffer had written another Night of the Stormrider with Ripper it would have been glorious.
ke oso con el Ripper pos ke paso!

Although Matt fits IE better:
Rippers falsetto is really amazing!
Shame he never had a good long-term band, he's always the stand-in
