  • This is so informational, my science teacher played it and we all felll asleep. Except for the kids in esl, they were trying to learn what it meant.

  • It's spelt 'turbine' for a reason, it's not spelt 'turban'... dumb american bitch -_-

  • The difference between a jet fighter and a commercial jet is that a commercial jet has a by-pass fan that by-passes the engine core and gives it more thrust at lower altitudes without using more fuel, thus the name turbo fan engine.. Fighter jets don't by-pass the engine core which is why they are called turbo jets. They have a higher thrust to weight ratio but are less efficient, especially at low altitudes. The afterburner as well as the structural design allow them to reach and exceed Mach 1.

  • cool a Boeing 727 at 2:35

  • This video doesn't explain how it works, it explains what it does.

  • @lank05 try 1:20 to 1:50 ;) your wrong!

  • Im from the UK and the term we use to describe a guy like that is "wally!"

    What a wally!

  • lol he does look like a douche

  • yes commercial & fighter jets are basically the same engine.

  • "go nasa"?! ...douchebag!!!

  • who does ignite the fuel? any electric sparks like a gasoline engine? or just the pressure like diesel???

  • @blue4splash I think that it's kind of like diesel, because at that point, the air so so highly compressed and the temperature becomes so high that they can just spray the fuel into it and it will ignite on its own.

  • @blue4splash There are igniters which start the flame initially, just like a spark plug. Once the flame is established, it burns continously. It's like a Gas hob (stove) in a kitchen, or a bunsen burner, or a blow torch, or even a cigarette lighter.

  • I like turbans

  • "this is a turban engine"... i work at NASA... yeah sure

  • great i new it ,,im trusting my life to a giant hairdyer,,,,dam i hate flying

  • It's a "turbine engine" not a "turban engine"! somebody slap her!

lol at "it's easy man; it's engines!"

no way man they use engines on those things?!

  • turban engine :D:D

  • thnx for uploading.

  • You may call that guy a douche bag sir

    and i concur

    good video:)

  • She didnt completely explain the difference between the engines used in commercial jets and figher jets. Commmercial jets use what are called "Turbofans" and fighers use "Turbojets". Turbofans bypass a considerable amount of air outside the jet turbine, creating less thrust and less noise than the the turbojets.

  • may i call that guy a douche bag. he looks the part

  • i am so nerdy. i actually enjoyed it.

  • You are not nerdy, just smart;) I too enjoyed it:D

  • @hairybeast101 Welcome to my world xD
