Tim and Derrek are just speed players, all they can do is play fast. Neither one of them can get in that pocket or lay down a sweet groove. If you want to see and hear great drummers, then check out guys like Tony Royster Jr, Thomas Haake, or Thomas Pridgen. Those guys blow Tim and Derrek out of the fucking water. Not all the best drummers are metal drummers, why dont you guys try opening up to other styles and drummers, then you will see that Tim and Derrek are not that good

Also I know that Derek Roddy isn't the ONLY bad ass drummer out there. I was merely giving a comparative explanation in my own opinion that Derek Roddy is a better drummer than Tim Yeung. With that being said, throughout all recorded performances of Tim Yeung that I had ever witnessed with my ears has been that Tim's ability to play his instrument doesn't go beyond speed...period. Derek Roddy has at least shown and obviously has been awarded proof of his ability to perform with different styles.

what does it mater if he's using truggers or not?Triggers dont make you a better player what so ever. Al triggers do is clean up production where the "attack" part of a note is lost due to speed where the drum head gets choked. Thats why they are mostly used with the extreme end of fast players. Its completly impossible for a kick drum head to have time to fully resonate with any real sonic impact at over 210bpm. Its not a cheating thing its a production thing. You still have to be able to play.
