  • Great song... He's such a powerful writer

  • terry ried was almost the lead singer for zepplin

  • Who the FUCK disliked this song?!

  • what a fucking track, this shit takes me away ,man

  • i love that blestenation made a remix, great original.

  • Dislikes? wtf?

  • ok song? songs awesome!

  • im going to sing this song for my graduation

  • How is it possible that I'd never heard of Terry Reid before watching Devil's Rejects? A true truvador.

  • @apes4life>>> funny that's actually how i heard of him first as well. gotta love the ending tho. (going out to a hail of bullets with free bird in the background) truly effective!

  • FUN FACT: actually, Jimmy Page wanted Terry Reid to sing for the "New Yardbirds" with him. but Reid was busy on tour, and Jimmy Page got Robert Plant instead. what happened next you probably know (Zeppelin). if he had joined up, you'd definitely have heard of Reid before this movie soundtrack. it'd be Plant you wouldn't know.

  • things were so slow and damp back then that good things like this could slip through the cracks and people could melt around the steam it produces

  • The only positive experience I received from Watching TDR was learning this song.

  • isnt it funny that of all people...rob zombie is the one who brought this guy to everybodies attention by using his music on the devils reject soundtrack!

  • I was looking the blestEnation version, but terry reid kept popping up, so youtube it is, I love good music. rap rock its all good music, & this is really good music

  • One word....70's

  • I hear this song on The Devils Rejects for the first time definitely a hidden classic. There is alot of passion in this song. The lyrics are great also.

  • @djcrich how sooo very correct you are! :)

  • @djcrich haha, i heard it first times there, too. Doesnt´t like the movie at all, but for this song it was good

  • "ok song"

wtf? thanks for uploading it -but this is by far one his best songs! and one of my favorite songs !

  • Can som1 tell me why the fk ive never ever seen this guy befor?.... this song alone is on par if not better than the likes of no women no cry. Such an obvius classic i guess its burried amongst all this bolix we call music today. Ive been back tracking over old music alot for the past few years, and for songs like this its no fucking wonder ;p lets drop it like its hot!.. no.. fuck off snoop.

  • @747at

Even snoop is a dying breed. R.A.P is no longer Rythme And Poetry. Most music today is only created to meet the bottom line. Fortunatley there has been a slow shift back to music that means something. Not much music has the feeling like this one does. You can hear it... in the way he plays and sings. Like Janice Jopplin you can hear the energy put into it. The fact that it is as old as it is can still reach people today show what good music can do even without mass hype.

  • @Hopllyte LADY GAGA FOR LIFE!! oh and justin bieber

  • what a great voice..5/5

  • never heard a singer with so much passion in his voice, and those lyrics are pure poetry, and amazing talent and a tremendous influence

  • amen

  • I'm a Devil's Rejects believer

  • certainly more than an "ok song"

  • I make Hip hop remix, too sick

  • the fucking shit

  • he is a fuckin legend

  • beautiful.

  • BEST SONG EVER

  • Terry was in great form @ the studio on april 6, 2009. He had the audience in his hand and gave them his heart. I 'm hoping someone has a video of TERRY REID @ THE STUDIO NYC, 4/6/09... the band was a special one:

Ed Rainey from the Cosmic American Derelicts Band on guitar/ slide

    Tony Cimorosi NS upright bass

    Tony Beard Drums

    Benny Harris Keys

  • Nuthin but luv on ur miiiiinnnnnddddd!!!!!!!!!!!

  • As a musician I appreaciate the soulful words of Terry Reid, this song is one of my favorite Reid Songs!!!

  • the use of the song on the film 'the devils rejects' is simply promoting good music, if you actually bothered to watch it instead of criticizing it, you would realize that it is a beautiful ending scene, and it shines a good light on terry reid's outstanding work as a musician.

  • Hey immovable1, take the pretentious bullshit you decided to drop here and leave. Let us enjoy the song without having to read any pretentiousness.

  • ATTN NYC! - TERRY REID is performing live at The Studio at Webster Hall on Tuesday, April 7th 2009 at 8PM in New York City. This is a show not to miss as you know if you are watching and listening to this video now. DON'T MISS IT!

  • oh shut up

  • The use of this song on the "devil's rejects" soundtrack, is a despicable example of degenerate hollywood destroying the works of our finest artists.

  • i think rob zombie did a fantastic job using the music to compliment the tone of the movie. no song is more evident than this song during the ending credits. if you look at the other songs in the soundtrack, they're pretty damn good. also, rob zombie has said that terry reid was his favorite artist. i guess i don't see rob zombie's work as degenerate hollywood.

  • I have to agree - by including the 3 songs in his film Rob Zombie has done more to promote Terry Reid's awesome music than anyone else, including (sadly) Terry's own producer. I am very grateful to RZ for having such fine taste and introducing many young folks to this unsung hero of classic rock.

  • I agree with positive posts. At the end of Devil's Rejects, I was like, "Who is this?" It was an unexpected song for this movie's ending, but it worked great! I had to YouTube it and hear it right away! Very soulful/mournful music. Sounds Great!

  • Ok song?

    Excellent song.

His only better song in my opinion is To Be Treated...so much emotion.

Reid is a superb song writer.

  • Brave Dreams

    That Are Kindled From Ashes

Rise Out Over All The Battle Below

Spread Wings Over All That He Passes

So His Life Can Stay Immortal To His Country

All The Shades Of Green That Fall Beneath This Tree

So Let The Winds Of Change

    That Rearrange The Country

Let It Also Sow A Seed Of Memory

Marlena In The Cool Satin Sashes

  • Spread Dreams Over The Battle Below Bring Love With A Song As She Passes So His Life Can Stay Immortal To The Country And Let Every Man Aware Of Being Free When She Talks Of Times When Wine Is Handed To Me From A Face That Walked Out Of A Memory Now That The Battle Is Done And You Wake Up In The Morning With The Sun Up In The Sky Summer Never Gives You No Warning Then Flowers Are Getting Thrown Up To Cover The Mud Up On The Line
  • Valleys Getting Greener And There's Nothing But Love On Your Mind Brave Dreams That Are Kindled From Ashes Rise Out Over The Battle Below Spread Wings Over All That He Passes So His Life Can Stay Immortal To The Country Other Shades Of The Green That Brought For Me A Victory But The Winds Of Change Have Rearranged This Country Let It Always Sow A Seed Of Memory For A Long Time
  • OK, I'm not trying to start a huge debate here....but this may be the best song out there. So much feeling and emotion, so easily conveyed which most artists seem to struggle with nowadays. Superb job, Mr Reid!

  • you discribed that verry well!

    Terry Reid is awesome!

  • It's cuz most "artists" are chosen because of their look and not talent. Back then ppl had talent and didn't care about "the look." Things are so backwards now! I was born in the wrong decade..

  • But Terry always had both...!

  • preach fresh! I could not agree more...back when this music was being made the industry was not all about the "image" it WAS all about talent and creative free expression...it's nice to see that someone is on the same page...peace

  • Thanx so much! nice to know i'm not alone

  • no problem...just speakin the truth...

  • This man rocks!!! Love this song, it gives me chills...

  • OK SONG??????????????? This is an amazing song.

  • Its obvious that You have great taste In Music

Whoever Said That This is A Ok Song Is Tone

deaf...Did you know that This man Was almost

the Lead Singer For led Zepplin??!!...true

Story. he Was Approached to be The Lead Singer

And turned It Down And Suggested Robert plant!

Crazy shit..he Also turned Down the Lead in

    Deep Purple..

  • i also credit rob zombie for using "let it ride " in the new halloween..i was asking people everywhere who sang that for last 2 years....and now i know....cool songs he uses

  • yeah i'll comment too.........same shit....devils rejects...... and yeah definately in the top 3 of the top 10 songs of all time.....

  • This truly is one of the greatest songs of all time! I also was introduced to this song from the movie "The Devils Rejects". I totally thought the movie rocked!

  • ok song? you mean fucking great song?

  • I also heard it for the first time seeing "Devil's Rejects". Hated the movie, loved this song!

  • I sang it for the first time in The Devil's Rejects. It's simply amazing, just great. Wonderful.

  • i saw it for the first time on the ending credits of devil rejects was rele awesome and effective....almost as good as the use of free bird :P

  • Changed my life...

  • All I can say is that scene blew me away and the song was so perfect for the driving scene.

I love the Devils Rejects cast ...

  • The movie rocked!!!

I totally agree no better song for the scene, probably one of the best song/scenes in the movies. AWESOME!!!!

  • great song... i like it when i listen it for the first time in devil's reject.

  • who knew a damn flute could rock

  • Terry Reid knew Terry Reid knew.

  • first time I heard this was when the ending credits came on The Devil's Rejects. I was hooked and listen to it all the time now. I bet the cd is amazing, I will have to buy it.

  • The CD indeed IS amazing. In fact all his 1966-69 recordings are amazing. Look right here on YT for album versions of Superlungs, May Fly, Bang Bang. I got the Superlungs compilation (1st 2 albums) - 17 songs, and not a single one disappointing. Also check out Dean live at Glastonbury Fayre 1971.

  • Me Too!!!!!! I bought the whole soundtrack!!!

  • The comments say "ok song".....Please don't add such real music and label it OK... try great!

    Props for the upload tho...

  • I would imagine if he spelt Reid wrong, thats what you would expect ..This is one of the greatetst songs ever !

  • who knew a damn flute could rock

  • jethro tull and apparently mr reid

  • ye, it worked really well in the film, did you know terry reed was in competition with Robert Plant for the role in Led Zeppelin, could have been interesting

  • They were never in 'competition' for it. Page wanted Reid and he couldn't do it so he pointed to his friend Robert Plant whom Page had never heard of until then...as soon as he heard Plant sing, he was floored and knew he found his man.

  • Great track

  • Such a beautiful song!! God bless you terry reid!!

  • the song ever, its a shame he is not knowin at much around the world as he should be!!

  • the best in my book. killer.

  • love this song!

  • great song

  • really good and underheard oldie song..it was used good in devils rejects its reaaly touching..
