Well, a Golden Retriever will shed, as will a German Shepherd and Border Collie. They're all long-haired or thick-furred dogs. A Lab is moderate in the shedding department, but it still sheds. Not sure about the Shiba Inu; I've never met one. However, Labs and German Shepherds are smart and good family dogs. Except for my Lab, who is loveable, but really dumb. :P
