Amazing performance. These women rocked. How sexy was Nina Gordon? I miss the 90's. sigh. Look at the lack of camera phones, the simple way of dressing, and the pure, undeniable talent. No bullshit. Just great music..
Admittedly it was my first ever Glastonbury, but I still say it's the best I've been to. An amazing line up across all three days. I'd love to go back and do the whole weekend again.
@Suedeheadlover lol, wherrrre did you hear that garbage ? Dave did a soundtract for a movie " Touch" 1997 and left a track open for Louise to "laydown" vocals to.....( not sey'n they didnt find a few minutes to tango ) but at that time V.S. was working on 3rd release, .....so on so on
I was supervising the "Pit" security team on this NME stage '95. Brings back some awesome memories, many that will remain confidential between myself & bands I had the pleasure to hang with ;O)) We were 500 Scot's & a Welsh squad were put in charge of the 9 mile perimeter fence, not a good move with their bad attitude & heavy swagger, THATS the reason the fence went down! I stood alone on the rail here, Prodigy's laser show firing up, in front of 140,000 people outta their nuts!? lol =O))
id bang the shit out of the girl in the sun dress. she looked like a boy in the original vid for this song, tho. maybe if they had marketed her as a piece of ass, veruca salt would have made it big.
@thelonghalloween You are either a troll, or very young. This is not what 90's grunge and alternative was about; it was about the value of talent and songwriting over selling music by sex appeal and plastic ideology. Sorry you missed it and all you have now is rap and pop. It might have changed the way you look at people; this is what rap has reversed when the 90's was about progress and being yourself. Your statement is pretty lonely and shallow.
The 90's were all about talent, no matter what gender. See how VS can get a crowd moshing!!! Now, with all the rappers; women are no longer given lead roles and reduced to backup dancers and are refered to as "ho's". We were actually going somewhere in the 90's; but it all reverted back to the 1920's later when it all ended; what a shame!
I saw RUSH last year - hadn't seen them since Moving Pictures, no act today compares with them. That is why so many of the 80's 90's band are still touring there is no rock music today. Iron Maiden is coming up and Im going - look at Camp Freddy's success - they F**KIN ROCK. Bieber, Gaga, Beyonce they dont rock
For me - and any other jaded, disillusioned mid-90s music fans/Britpoppers out there - this video is like morning sex: warm, uncomplicated, and it leaves you with a big grin on your face for the reat of the day.
Will people look back on 2010/11 with the same fondness in 15 years time, I wonder?
@nigelchallenge Interesting thought. I'm 33 years old and at Uni. Kids today are a very intolerant and conservative bunch. Makes me wonder where we're all heading.
Ah the nineties where girls that sang didn't have to have big tits or worry about VPL. Long haired blokes wore band T-shirts but didn't necessarily listen to their music and bouncers had epic moustaches.

awww...makes me sad to know that nina and louise had such a caustic falling out. they made amazing music together. nina's solo efforts cannot compare to her work in veruca salt (although, i do like them) and louise's new veruca salt inception cannot compare either.
I fuckin' miss the 1990s! What a great time! No protracted wars, no credit crisis, no housing bubble and the music was awesome! Oh, yeah, MTV still played music! Imagine that?
Awesome. I wonder if these ladies(bands), like Cranberries, Amos and Belly, still perform at Lilith Fair or elsewhere...Although she is only 18(recently turned), and she recently started as an artist, I beg you guys to PLEASE, please give Allison Iraheta a listen. Please? She is still growing into adulthood and better insight on vocals and artistry. I love that girl as she is, but she can only get better. Thanks.
@knucklebut420 Me too bro! I found it kinda late....Discovered them in 2000 and my friend's girlfriend (this girl named Joey, 20 at the time) burned me in front of a bunch of people saying, "that's so middle school!" I was a grown man of about 26 at the time but it still PISSED ME OFF. You know, like when you ARE in middle school and somebody talks shit about your song and you take personal offense? That was me but at 26! lol! I freakin LOVE this song...and them...
I was just talking to a friend of mine that was there. Not only did he say that Veruca Salt was awesome that day, but that she was not doing anything wrong shouting "Rock n' Roll" @ the end. He also said that everyone but Pulp put on stellar sets and that Pulp had mediocre songs with crappy delivery, they acted snobby and aloof. I've listened to Pulp, they're no Blur, Elastica, Wire or even Oasis!
Oh, my God! What kind of fuckin' setup do these ladies have? That's monsterous tone! And they were rock solid! That's what I strive for onstage is thunderous, catchy riffs with tons of energy! These ladies are professionals both onstage and in the studio.
