sure.. although i don't know if it would look exactly like that but some drummers (usually fairly professional ones) use drum racks for their toms and cymbal arms, Gibraltar racks are of the most popular
Sorry this is a little late but, its possible to put acoustic drums on those racks but it would be best if you had them cut down in size. To make 6 inch toms for rack toms etc. . a good example of that size would be tony royter jr's kit that he plays on the "ASAP' video.

since the dr-12 rack is longer, could you possibly mount real toms beside the dr-12 toms? would weight be an issue or is it just not possible
