  • what seat were you in? I have been to Dullas such a nice airport!!! GO UNITED!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • wow! how is it so steady?

  • United airlines is simply the best!! I also love their boeing 777-200 very big airplane with a lot of comfort!

  • which midfield concourse was this? C or D? I'm thinking C but it could've been D.

  • That's the C concourse.

  • i took the same flight same route sometime in july 2008

  • im guesing you went to mayland or something

    i love maryland

  • now that looked like a hella smooth landing

  • Are you from northern california, if you don't mind my asking?

  • Wow you actually went directly to the shuttle from the plane? I landed at IAD twice from international destinations (LHR in 03 and MUC in 05, both 777s) and we always went through the terminal and got on the buses at the end of the terminal...Just curious...

  • hate landing makes ur ears and jaws pop and hurt

  • Im also flying on United airlines LOL!

  • ??????? How is that funny ???? im flying on united 2 but it isent funny

  • DO the airlines give many people sponsorships? Are many of the airlines pilots from rich/wealthy families? If you're the right person will the airlines train you right from ppl to atpl.

  • shut up. act like yall know what you talkin bout. no life losers watchin airplane videos all day

  • i did the landing with a b767 at IAD too. january 18, 2007. and i will again, when i go back from vegas on june 19.

  • What happens if I stay on the plane lol?

  • Using reverse thrust at KIAD would be completely rediculous! the parallels: 1L and 1R are both at least 11000 feet long. Same with runway 30/12, the outer one.

  • Not really, since most aircraft flown into both runways at the airport use reverse thrust. Even regional jets use reverse thrust because the rules state you may not be on the runway as long as you wish to be. And the distances are 30/12=10500, 1L/19R=11501, 1R/19L=11500. As far as how long an aircraft may be on the runway, sufficient time to quickly decelerate and be able to exit at the first taxiway available. (And the FAA at IAD Tower is strict on that)

  • cool! i did not knew that fly by wire! well i been in a airbus a320 and a boeing 737 and to be honest the a320 was a really nice not too bumpy ride and the boeing was really unstable and the weather was really the same it was raining! but to be honest im a airbus fan but boeing has more planes than airbus! but thanks for the info!

  • I have a question which plane has better stability and control: A330 or 767-300R? and the ride?

  • Have not been in an A330 (by personal choice, If it ain't boeing i ain't going) but a 767 (200, 300, 400) in my mind has a nice smooth ride, never had a problem, always comfortable, perfect airplane that does not need to be replaced by some smelly french airplane

  • ok i have another question do airbuses here in the usa have the system fly by wire?? idk but i think i read something about the faa not aproven it im i right?

  • SCAIRbust wouldnt waste money on developing two different control systems for anyone, even if it was the US, i believe its been certified (sadly) fine for flight

  • Fly by wire is crap.

  • its acutally safer than hydraulic aircraft cause it uses a computer and the 777 has it

  • how do you know?

  • The fly by wire system is approved by the FAA and is used by all airbus aircraft flown by US carriers. A friend of mine, and a fellow pilot, flies A-320's for jetBlue and said he prefers the fly-by-wire system as it's more manageable.

  • do you think fly by wire is a good system to manage planes in the us? in other words do you think boeing starts making their planes fly by wire?

  • Whats so stupid Brrad0?????

  • Hey this is mu birthdate, I love UAL and I can't wait tell about 5 years on this date when I become eligable to be hires by Shuttle American on, my first step toward moving on up to UAL.

  • Trust me pal, you don't want to work for Shuttle America. Every one I've worked with who used to be a pilot for them has had nothing but complaints about the mismanagement of the company. My advise would be to look at another agency like SkyWest or AirWisconsin, since just like where you trained, where you worked affects your chances of getting in with the majors. And Shuttle has never been in good terms with UA since they were contracted back in June of 2004.

  • yeah I actually got a few jobs lined up for SPRING 08 with PSA and AirWIS as well as a few others! I probley with never fly for them but it is cool I kinda want to do my plane and then UAL so will see!

  • thats cool so your just starting out, im trying to get a job at UAL but there not hiring yet? any word on when, im captain on skywest on a CRJ-200, i agree with flyana i wouldnot go with shuttle america ive also heard nothing but complaints, about mismanegment and so fourth.

  • Yeah Bro they are hiring right now, check united(dot)com in Carrers, they are hiring about 100 new threw the rest of this year! I would like SkyWest but I am gonna be to young for them!

  • wait how u a CAP. ur channel says age 22? Also what a sweet name :) Another good one is, Procedure turn or LOCBC, anyway hope I helped and hope to see ya in a few years ;) at UAL!

  • no im not really cap yet, im gonna be this winter, im not 22 in 25 wait a sec i must of put the date in wrong during the resgistration, i was born 9/11/82, not 85. i gonna send UAL a aplication or something, maybe i will see you soon, how old are youa/

  • hey i meet ual quota for flight hours and all of that, the only thing is i dont know about the college thing, i says credidble college i dont know if the one i went to is the most well known but whatever im gonna go fill out an online application now.

  • College is perfered, if u are not a CAP yet u don't meet the 1000 Turbine PIC! Sorry :)

  • But not manditory for UAL (College but they would like u to have one, I am gonna finsih mine at on-line schools so that works)

  • yeah i dint even think about that, technically i am captain, but i take up my position this winter, i went to a community college for a while an then switched to a real college, about your name are 750's and 330's your favs? and your also right i have ABOUT 1200 PIC hours, but none of them are turbine damn.

  • 757s are may Fav along with the 744! A330 was just put there cause they kinda have the lines of the 757! So yeah also the UAL L1011s they had are pretty sweet!

  • 75, whats up dude? I see that UA is hiring like a MOFO dude, now it the time dude. Good luck!

  • he not even really a airline pilot yet ( no offense dude) i dont think he has any like me turbine pic time, yeah dude i have turbo prop PIC time, 15000 hours, thats alot for 45 minute routes. how many total hours do you have?

  • no hey don't need reverse thrust it would be used for short runways or bad weather thats what my 767 captains tell me

  • The runway at IAD is so ridiculously long that they barely need wheel brakes, much less reversers.

Every time I have landed on the remote runway (I forget the number), we have coasted for a good 30-40 seconds as the entrance to the terminals is at the end of the runway.

If they deployed the TR's, they would just have to spin the engines back up to get to the terminal.

  • Didnt hear any thrust reversers. Did they use them?

  • No they did not use reverse thrusters. Thanks for looking.
