  • Just to put this to rest who cares who one is better .223 rifle or 9mm carbine for home or self defense do you really think that the bad guy give's 2 rat ass which one is better all he know's is that you are armed and are throwing lead his way

  • I guess all this .223 talk is referencing a mini 14?When you spend that kind of money go ahead and buy a real m-14 a .308 is a much more powerful round than .223,this High Point carbine is $300.00 or less and can be .40S&W and .45ACP as well all the same price;it's economy reliable self defense which is better than a knife or sling shot haha.A mini 14 is gonna cost more than twice as much on most occasions.

  • all i can say i columbine yea!!!

  • I have one of these and I love it. I got mine from the planet of the apes.

  • i really like this gun would buying the old generation of it for a hundred bucks be a good deal?

  • How's the stock trigger on it?

  • I've had my 995TS for about a year now and it's still fun to shoot. I shot mostly winchester and CCI blazer rounds FMJ with no problems. Hollow points, some problems. Easy to correct. Before insert mag, make sure last round canted upward in mag. Not sure how many rounds fired over 500. Maybe 1000. Fun, easy to handle, cheap to shoot.

  • not a very impressive sounding gun.

  • @jdewolf31 for less then 300$ u get what u pay for

  • @xXshaggyshuffleXx well said.

  • @jdewolf31 it may not be the most perfect firearm in the world but im wanting one bc of the round size and good use as an indoor weapon for the price id happily grabb one

  • WATCH MY VIDEO FOR STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DISASSEMBLE THIS GUN!!

    Disassembly of Hi-point 995 carbine

  • Dylan Klebolds gun.

  • @jma25able1 Actually, Eric Harris used the 9mm carbine. Dylan Klebold had a Tec-9.

  • I been to that range... lol, in georgia, good range and it's free.

  • sounds like some alien weapon hahah sweet!!!

and to the trolls yes i know why it sounds like that and that its fake and gay that i said that well suck my c**k idc

  • @XJXslamXHX woot

  • how much do those usually go for?

  • @fight007

they on sale rite now for 249.00

  • Hooooo boy, never jams; just like the AK-47.

  • @dafranx

    AKs jam a lot!

  • @rebelq1 How AKs jam a lot? Do they jam more than the M16, or as much as the M16?

  • @dafranx

i think you know russian inventions usually are

  • are you black? I cant tell, from the back you look caucasian, but from the side you look black.

  • I like to see carbine on 7.62x25 ammo. I would buy it in a heart beat.

  • Where does the 9mm and the .45 995 compare with something like a .30 cal carbine? I reload my carbine ammo with 150 grain, and can hit paper at 150 yards-within 2 inches.

  • I think a 30 carbine is like a semi auto version of the 357 mag in energy. If you use a soft point or hollow point, it will hurt. Still, level 3 or 4 armor plates will stop it, as well as soft level 3A.

  • 25 yrds is great! How does it act at 100? I heard the 9mm 995 can be accurate up to 100, and the .45 995 is accurate up to 200 meters/yards. Can anyone confirm this?

  • One of my biggest issues with watching videos people post videos is that they never show the targets. I think its mean-lol.

  • I have removed my previous statement that any JHP ammo will jam in this carbine. I failed to do my homework and am actually surprised at the results. anyone interested in the results, google hi point 995 vs ruger and read the story. Im on my way to pic up some hollowpoints to keep around the house.

  • @reaperpaintball08 Read somewhere that with hollowpoint ammo, you gotta sometimes gotta slap the bottom of mag after you insert it in grip to get it to chamber it right. Don't know how true this is since I haven't had any problems yet.

  • @sentry964 I ran about 150 rounds of different types of JHP ammo, never had one failure of any kind. The carbine actually held tighter groups with the hollowpoints for some reason. I have since sold it, wish that I would have kept it. Going to pick up the 45 auto version if they ever get around to releasing it.

  • @reaperpaintball08 yeah same there website has said coming soon for like 4 months now.

  • Comment removed

  • @reaperpaintball08 that's not what they posted in Guns and Ammo...better check your sources before posting. They put this thing up against Ruger's carbine and fired 5 different types of major self defense rounds and had ZERO failure to feeds because they wanted to test it. Not only did it feed flawlessly but it out performed the Ruger in accuracy too.

  • @smyers820gm I honestly didn't know about that, what month and issue? I only heard bad things about the hollowpoint ammo with this rifle. I would love to have some hollowpoints for mine to keep in the house.

  • @reaperpaintball08 I read it today when I got a fancy for this gun..you should be abe to google it. just search for hi point carbine vs ruger carbine.....it was a nice article they bashed the hi point for ugly..LOL but they were dead honest in their evaluation..and they gave data showing the performance of how well they shot w/ the names of the different types of rounds they used.

  • @smyers820gm Nice, i think this is probably one of my most favorite firearms to shoot at the moment. Ill have to check that article out. thanks for the heads up on that, i really apperciate it :)

  • natural selection

  • @BENSTER489 Dylan & Eric Favorite Rifle xD LOL

  • if they ever try to take our guns away it would start a war!

  • alot of people dont realize the bullet skip.. they think when it hits the ground it goes in... this video is a good example of bullet skip... were yu useing fmj? i found they skip far worse.

  • ya im canadian lol only hunting rifes up here, and those are hard enough to get, cause of testing and what not. Hope your country dosnt take away your right to beararms like their trying to do.

  • there are so many guns in the US that there is no way in hell they can take guns away and they know it. so they make ammo super expensive and raise taxes on firearms and ammo

  • ya man iknow, please keep your arm and ammo

  • That why you should have been stocking up. I got my first rifle at 18 and have been buying 5,000 rounds of 30-06 a month and about 2500 9mm each month. Never rely on things to always be there. one day the ammo will get you what you want, not listening to the f-ed up governement.

  • I hope you are not suggesting using your weapons to kill people to take what you want.

  • If the country goes to shit then yes it will happen. Only the strong survive. If you dont follow that then you will die. Deal with it not everything is perfect all the time.

  • If you believe it is acceptable to murder and steal with your firearms in an emergency situation you will get killed quickly. There will be plenty of idiots with the same idea all killing each other. Wise people have everything they need ahead of time. Run into me with your mentality and I will put you down like the rat you are.

Also the idea a 9mm carbine has more stopping power than a .223 is stupid. First of all a 9mm will not pierce body armor, a .223 will.

    Youre a fool.

  • Right and whos to say that I dont have my shit together? seriously if you think the .223 is all high and mighty they go for it your self, its simple physics, the 9mm is a .380 round basically and your telling me that if both bullets were traveling at the same speed then the .223 would have more knock dowqn? your the F-ing idiot. I would love to see you even try and pull a gun on me fucker with a mentality like your kingshit you would be first to die.

  • Okay please tell me what is the muzzle energy for a 9mm 124gr bullet out of a 16inch barrel.

Then tell me what the muzzle energy of a .223 is out of a 16 inch barrel.

The .223 is probably about 3 times more powerful, more than twice as fast, is more accurate, much greater range, better ballistic coefficient, and will penetrate soft body armor when a 9mm will not.

So what the fuck are you talking about? Why would I bother pulling a gun on you? LOL

Cease with the youtube death threats moron

  • @labartic Apples and oranges dude. Sure a 5.56mm is better than a 9mm but a Hi-Point you can get for a couple of hundred and change while an AR-15 can set you back for well over a grand. If you don't see my point, then lets talk about the better ballistics of the .50 BMG round which will turkey-slap that puny poodle-shooter round like a cute young boy in a turkish prison.

  • @sentry964 No one mentioned budget being a factor. And good luck carrying around a 50bmg rifle. An AR15 is similar size and weight to a hi point 9mm.

  • @labartic Well actually a 9 has pretty good penetration for a pistol round and if your trying to compare rifles most .223 rifles that would produce this low amount of FTF and FTE would cost about 4 times as much.

  • @labartic hey, i got alot of ballistic aromor that doesnt mean i go around like a dumbass making threats cause getting shot with one of my heavy kevlar vest on hurts like a BIIITTTCCCHHHH (tested it with a .22)

  • @labartic But, at ranges below 60m, a 5.56 round makes simply a nice sized .22 caliber hole. It's not made to function at lower velocity at short range. It has one speed, and that's fast! The 9mm on the other hand will have a much larger entry hole, but being slower, won't fragment as fast or have the distance. .223 is a rifle round, and has it's drawbacks. The 9mm is perfect for 100m and closer with great accuracy and availability (and it's cheap!). It's simply about using the right tool

  • @labartic and cost three times the money (:

  • @labartic yes, but .223 also has much more muzzle blast, can't be silenced, costs more, and has more muzzle rise/recoil (uncompensated).

  • @Yahooblue42 Well actually you can silence just about any caliber. You won't be able to get rid of the crack that the .223 makes, but you can silence the rest.

  • If martial law comes upon US,then the people can't trust the government and its like a big free for all. " /

  • and its gonna be hilarious when you hit your girlfriend or wife and get all your firearms and ammunition taken away

  • Really, I find that stranbge b/c I dont hurt women, ever, so the funny part will be how you react when you find out that you family is killed and raped while you were gone and they couldnt do shit about it b/c your probally some anit gun loving gore butt fucker. have a nice day asshole.

  • you never know when anger kicks in anything can happen. Also, i just love getting shit heads like you angry just to see the crazy paragraphs of vulgar language thrown back.

  • LoL, nice comeback. Some people will never understand, it's useless to argue with them.

  • i like baconators,they are goooooooooood

  • Bro, can you explain to me why you are buying so much ammo? 7500 rounds a mo? How much does that cost you? Do you realize that ammo has a shelf life...i.e. it will not last. Do you also realize that the f-ed up government you speak about will not hunt you with 30-06 and 9mm. Try Apache hellfire bombs. So scenario a, you are wrong and the gov. doesn't try to kill you. your ammo expires, you loose thousands of $. scenario b, they bomb you with a missle and blow you and your ammo up.

  • I buy that ammo b/c I work at a local range and I get to fire all day every day. I also hunt, and I understand that ammo has a shelf life, but you have to rememebr that its not like 10 years. I have gotten ammo form the 1970's and it has fired just fine with no problems. It all depends on how you store your ammo. Mine is in a temperature controled humidity controlled safe.

  • i will say ammo last a long time i mean ive seen some surplus as far back as ww2 being fired...i got some surplus now that was manufacterd in 79..

  • @micbaca ....they are constantly finding ammo cache's from the 2nd world war all the time and sell that ammo.....so much for your ammo doesnt last bullshit !! i have ammo that i bought 2 years ago and stored it in airtight containers and that ammo is just like when i initially put it into the container...you dont know what you are talking about !

  • Thats what president fuck face wants to do : /

  • @itsalargeworld they won't, to many "GREAT AMERICANS" will shed blood for the constitution..... AGAIN. it's better to have your country-men on YOUR SIDE, Instead of against you... the government lacks common sense at times IT SEEMS! but on a mass level "all gun ban" would infuriate 80 percent of the population... ALL AT ONCE! if a single state bans guns. move! if you cant move.. Do whats right in accordance with what consequences your actions will be faced with. give me liberty or give me death

  • @LiveOutLoudUSA enough said:) It's your right and should never be infringed upon.

  • @LiveOutLoudUSA 2nd biggest group of people out there is the NRA so its going be nearly inpossible to take guns away

  • @itsalargeworld

Ya me neither!? Morons that hate guns that live here "Yaa people shouldnt be walking around with guns its good too ban them" anyway yet those some people call the cops faster then anybody else cuz...THEY HAVE GUNS lol dickheads

  • @itsalargeworld lol im canadian and i have a Remington ACR 6.8mm and a XDm45 3.8. u need a rusted PAL

  • @itsalargeworld The day they try to remove our guns is the day this country has it's next civil war.

  • Comment removed

  • @itsalargeworld sorry to hear that bro, worst comes to worst you can always come here

  • Are these kinds of rifles good to have? I have a 30-30 currently, would a 9mm rifle be a good investment?

  • a lot of people talk bad about them, but they have a liftime warranty no matter what so they cant be that bad. a ruger .40 carbine would be your best investment though, cost alot more though

  • You play CS don't you...

  • i used to play halo on PC online and COD4 on PS3 online under that name but thats it. used it as my online name for like 4 years

  • If you have a little more money to invest get an AR-15 or something bigger than

    9mm..

  • I dont see why not its larger and has more stopping power then those pussy .223 rounds. And it uses the same ammo as a 9mm handgun, two guns same ammo you cant go wrong. and they are great for target days, just sit back, no recoil and have fun.

  • which brand ammo did you use that gave you 150 rnds w/o any failures? and was it JHP or FMJ?

  • I dont know, Its my coworkers rifle, whatever he used from walmart.

  • @CerberusPetOfHell i have one of these in 40 cal and i have put prolly close to 3000 rnds thru it and have had very few jams i mean i can prolly count on one hand this guy really needs to throw a reddot on top because highpoints sights suck & a reddot makes these guns soooo much funner to shoot....i mean they are still junkie guns especially the pistols but these sug guns are pretty good

  • Well done!

  • How far back have you tried to shoot with the 995? The farthest my indoor range can go is about 50 feet. Im curious how accurate these are from 100 yards.

  • man I have a 995 carbine and I love it. Its the only weapon that I have that won't hurt my ears much if I don't use ear protection.

  • If you want noise try 45/70 trapdoor.

  • Must be bad audio - sounds like someone banging on a trash can lid. Mine don't sound like that :)

  • Thats because the range has a roof with a concrete floor, and the camera was behind me further inside so it alters the sound.

  • It's a 9mm, dude. It's not meant to be highly powerful.

  • Can that gun be silenced??

  • yes, it can but you have to have a special tax stamp by law

  • ya...law requires it.........147 grain 9mm are subsonic.

  • Will it still be subsonic from a 16" barrel though?

If it is close... you can get near 'enough' to 900m/s and it will still crack.

  • ya i've wondered the same thing. I would assume so, being that it's not like using a .22lr in a pistol and a rifle. That makes a difference. But since the 9mm is a round devoted to pistol use, most of the powder burns in the first 8 inches so if anything it might just slow it down even more. and you could always try a de lisle style and port the barrel for a bigass suppressor.

  • Now I have to go find some chrono's of 9mm ammo in different length barrels... (pistol/rifle)

    Good point!
