  • I have been out of the military since 1990, and I haven't found a single employer who looks at my military experience for a hiring consideration. unless you get out of the military and get a bachelor degree, you aren't going to find a job based on military experience

  • people are employed because of their skills or what they can benefit to the company,. What can a military actually create/? No wonder noone hires them. And stop pretending that you went to war because of freedom or other bull, you went just to have a nice paycheck, early retirement, and other benefits. Stop talking all this- we died for the country. For which country you exactly die in Iraq?

  • Oh yeah the pay is great, let me tell you even better when you lose a limb in an ied explosion, it makes it all worth it. 20 years to retire if you live long enough sounds great doesnt it!

  • This is the price we pay to put our lives on the line to keep this country safe, so these fuckers can stay here make money and then screw us when our military time is up! They are all worthless scum!

  • When the troops went over seas they were NOT keeping the country safe...tjey were keeping our oil safe. Sorry but the troops have been lied to. The same people who sent the troops to go kill the innocent Arabs are going to kill the Americans through unemployment and poverty.

  • True very true, but guess what the troops are here to serve the people and the people are the ones who have a say as to what they do. if the war was wrong or not they were doing what we wanted!

  • I don't want to be at war and I voted for Obama because I thought he would try to end the wars. However Obama lied. The troops do not represent me they represent the lies of Obama and Bush. Many troops know these wars are about oil they join the army to get a pay check. The troops are here to serve themselves.

  • i dont think the soilders want the war either i didnt when i was in. And yes they represent america to bad you want to live in a democracy. thats the problem with people here me! me! me! me! and im not wrong at all!

  • Regardless of what you believe the reality is American banks and corporations make trillions of dollars off war. That is why we have been in War since the 50s non stop. War = business plain and simple. Do you really think the rich and elite that start these wars really care about you or democracy? If so why don't they send their kids to the battle field? Why do you think soilders get paid so little? You see how they treated the veitnam vetrans. They are using you so they can make money.

  • Well this sounds funny this is the same way i feel about it. But the soilders arent to blame for being used wrongly, we live in a democracy.

  • I wouldn't hire some crazy satanic Fallujah baby-killer

fuck the Willy Pete war criminals

let em starve in the gutter LOL

  • Ive got an odd feeling that youre probably not in the position to hire someone or ever will be!

  • fuck the illiterate war criminals

    let them starve

  • I have been out of work for a year.

I have 20 years experience and a bachelors degree and cant find work.

Why? Because there are no JOBS, the rich get richer, the middleclass gets Fd!

Our government sent all jobs overseas by design.

Overtime history will disclose the truth.

We have many people that are awake and there to support the upcoming Revolution.

The government has a choice to do the right thing and keep this peaceful.

  • Start a program to 'take half a year off for a VET' that way they can temp their way back into the game at a rate equal to their previous qualifications. (Who's an org to arrange it?)

There should be moments of silence for traumatized vets that were involved in killing people too - it's the same tragedy.

  • being a veteran, I have tried to get work since getting out in 1990. Just basic low-paying labor jobs, nothing substantial at all, and the Veterans agencies do nothing to help out. Right now, finding a job, even with military skills, work skills, and an Associates Degree, I can't get hired.

  • what was your major? if you dont mind me asking

  • I have an Associates Degree in Internet Publishing and E-Commerce Technologies. Skills in web design, graphic design, audio and video production, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, etc.

  • In Germany, after the WWII, my father worked with german veteran soldiers; many of them were alcoholics, invalids,... with many physical and psychical scars.

German Industries contracted them with the Government aid, even when they weren´t the best workers of the World.

The Capitalism without public limits it´s a satanic system.

    Help the citizens first!

  • @Truebloodceltic

There is plenty of money out there. Even after vets are helped, there are billions being scammed from the people that should be used to help the ppl.

  • George Carlin did a great bit about how "shell shock" turned into "post traumatic stress disorder" and maybe if it was still "shell shock" they'd pay a little more attention to it- making less war as a result.

  • Destruction by design on all fronts!

  • In that case, they should get a well deserved income from the gov't and insurance. There are plenty of lazy, able-bodied people scamming the gov't. Make them get to work and give the veterans some of that money.

  • We veterans don't want anyone to hand us anything, we just want a chance. We want to earn our own way and be paid a fair wage. For all the other vets out there take advantage of your state programs. Their's a fed program to get vets into green jobs now take advantage of it. They'll get you the edu and training you need. I know because I took advantage of it and am now a weatherization tech, making a good living. I plan to move up into energy auditing and make even more.

  • A fair wage? What the fuck? Do you see the slavery workers in true capitalistic india and china? They would love to get a fair wage.

You are for capitalism and cry for a fair wage? You are a hopeless brain dead looser.

  • @llothar68

India and China are diff stories. this vid is about vets. but they deserve more and that doesnt mean vets deserve less. Anyone who would want someone to do a favor for them should justly compensate them, I also believe in justice.

  • I just making fun of his idea that he thinks that capitalism has anything to do with "fairness" especially when it comes to the salary.

  • yeah there is no fairness and hardly any justice when it comes to capitalism

  • @Vostokification

Congratulations for getting ahead. You can only hope all the vets will take advantage of the programs but its not likely. A lot of them though, are kicked aside, and the deserve much more. I cant imagine the extent of the situations you guys have been thru but i do understand wanting to work for your own. There are too many ppl tho scamming the gov't & sm of tht money shud b 4 the vets that cant do for themselves or need extra help.

  • Bush/Cheney sent solders back to Iraq who'll already been diagnosed w/ PTSD & they only got worse so it'll be hard to place them.

  • The virtuous soldier sacrificed and did his work, for what was said to be virtuous by our own, and should be justly taken care of. The gov't wastes money in other places, and the fact that the war was wrong in the first place, is a different story.

  • It may be difficult 4 veterans to adjust when everything is said and done. They may not have certain skills for work, ok. Congrats to those that do well. The gov't, however, brainwashed them into thinking they were serving for a greater cause when actually it was for personal benefits of the gov't. The gov't tells military how important they are, then throw them out like trash when all is said and done. That is wrong.

  • hate to tell you guys this,

but the government messed you up.

there is a whole lot of corruption in the past, that has seen the light of day, one day, it will all spill out, and I hope to see the day, that those who put you here, will spend some time behind bars...

    as they say..semper fi..always faithful..

  • Here that guys????

Join the army; Lose your job, and all hopes of a future...

    ...God Bless America...

    ...Land of the blind.

  • Why does it matter that vetrans have any different unemployment rate then non-vetrans?

Its just anouther example of culural descrimination to assert that sombody dumb enough to go fight in a foreign war we cant afford should have job prefrence over some other american.

Equal oppertunity for all I say!

  • @unameitltd I agree. A job should be given to the best candidate. Why should going to war suddenly equal a 3 year degree?

If you want a good job then get it the same way everyone else does.

  • The Rich Elite & Big Powerful Government will screw us all FURTHER in 2010 if we DON'T take a stand AGAINST this mess along with the coming nightmare:

New World Order! New World Government!

Wake-up People! And, Check Out 'The Alex Jones Channel', too!

  • im a ex soldier and a week after i got home no one gave a shit about anything i had done. i stoped telling employers i was in cause EVERYONE i told didn't hire.

  • I'm sorry.

  • only jobs in oil...

    ...go figure.

  • well ...

apart from the other rather stupid comments here on this subject sir , it is my understanding that the point of the commentary was that IN THE PAST the fact that your where a soldier once was a ADVANTAGE over other candidates , IF however a person is seeking employment AND has the right Qualifications !

    Correct ?

It did NOT say , that you sir have a job garanty because you had military expierince !

  • i just got out of the army 3 months ago. it is tough. Im talking to a recruiter on tues to get back in. If you are getting out please make sure you have a real plan because its hard out here guys.

  • no job , no country , no family, no health care, no home, no car, so why care anymore about what business needs, goverment wants. just take a gun and get what you need.

  • I've worked with two vets of the recent wars and in both cases, I have to say they don't handle stressful situations well. Of course this is a very small sample but if it's an indication of the whole or even the minority. I can see where an employer would hesitate to hire them.

  • I get sick of people saying "Support Our Troops" when so many employers are denying veterans employment!

  • coast guard,air force,navy best service

  • it is a tough job market out there and trust me on this it is going to get a whole lot tougher from the top all the way down

  • do not have a job? Re-enlist and get the rich richer...

  • dont work if your not fit enough to work in the military...

  • Isn't it the unemployed people that join the army in the firstplace?

  • Trust me...that is not always the case. I know quite a few who had phenomenal jobs and chose to serve because the felt the neccessity to do so. I am one of those. I took a huge pay cut, and turned down a very charmed career to serve.

  • Yep another reason not to join the military, we treat those who serve like shit. Fuck Obama, Fuck republicans. They have turned the USA into a 3rd world country for their own greed. Vote Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich. USA is a joke. Glad I left the dump.

  • Glad you left too! A true patriot works to fix what is wrong. A true patriot does not abandon their country arbitrarily. There are countries fairing MUCH MUCH worse than the US in this global economy.

  • Well I guess I sold out to my Australian wife. We both needed work and the USA doesnt support engineers anymore. Look around jackass, the USA is the worst off in the economic climate with the exception of Ireland. Id rather live in Australia then starve in the USA under a socialist war monger that is Obama and Bush. Fuck you for questioning my decision.

  • Great, does that mean your ancestors are going back to europe??

  • Hey dumshit who the fuck said my ancestors are european? Hey do us all a favor and go die in Afganastan. Then you will have realized the new American dream.

  • @ryno99 - mostly agreed, but FUCK Ron Paul (and Little Ron) too!

  • I'm 18 years old and I just enlisted into the National Guard and now I'm scared shitless because I thought being in the military will gurantee me a job somewhere like Target or something.

  • time are tough right now. ill be praying for your safety in the military, and hopefully you can find a job.

  • Trust me...there are jobs out there. Most of the jobless are those with unreasonable expectations or who did not use their benefits to their advantage to advance themselves. They spent more time trolling for skirt or drinking than working on education or other self-development.

Not to mention...it is a tough job market. There are PhD's out there working at crap jobs.

  • I know plenty of educated people in the USA without work. They cant get jobs in retail cause they dont have prior experience and there are plenty of career retail people. Fuck you dickhead for judging people, are you God or something? The only jobs in the USA are those with 100% commission. Take a walk in other shoes before you judge.

  • Careful...You have no idea of my background. I was referring to the jobless veterans. There has been a great study done on this, and the trends I mentioned are VERY true among this crowd.

  • You must be hardcore.Shirley Phelps commented on your page. Good luck with that and the Westboro Church

  • I never even noticed she commented. I lit her up for protesting my friend's funeral both on YouTube and in person. I fucking hate those people. Thanks for pointing that out...this is going to be funny as hell.

  • MAOfiggts:

"Trust me...there are jobs out there.."

"Not to mention...it is a tough job market.."

    Contradiction?

What kind of "unreasonable expectation" you are talking about?

  • Not really...you have to look. They are there. Many are found through networking and not through conventional methods. My buddy's company has not posted an ad for an open position in 3 years, but he has filled them all through referrals. Most managers I know are finding talents workers in new and unique ways.

  • @MAOfights

"Many are found through networking and not through .."

Of course there are always companies hiring people but what this video is talking about is it's not enough to fill the demand of job seekers, specially unfairly to veterans?

They are talking about the numbers and you are talking about your impression from what you see.

If you have a solid data that *there are jobs out there* I want to look at it.

  • @allgoo19

They are consistently e-mailing out information from veterans organizations of job fairs, etc. There are many companies out there....Sears, Home Depot, Dell, Honda, GM, Edward Jones, and so many others that have extremely active military veteran recruitment initiatives and even personnel dedicated to the recruitment of veterans. Every post I have EVER been on has had all kinds of career services and career fairs for veterans and those considering leaving the service.

  • @MAOfights

    "They are consistently e-mailing "

You are like saying I have a few friends swear by Ford, they are reliable cars. But Consumer Report says otherwise.

It's the numbers and data that tell the real story.

Do you undersatand? How many jobs are available vs. how many are needed. Where is it?

  • @allgoo19

Go on any military post. Get on a Veteran's list serve. I have 5 e-mails in my box from today alone. They are out there.

  • @MAOfights

" I have 5 e-mails in my box from today alone.."

5 Emails doesn't tell anything. People don't go to apply for burger shop when he or she has 3 dependents to feed on.

Is that what you call "too much expectation"? Unless you ask many of those job seekers why they are not taking the jobs you'll never know why.

Since you are close to those people and part of the network why not spend a little time asking them and find out?

  • @allgoo19

These e-mails were from Devon, OGE, and group with a fair going on with many Fortune 500 companies. Face it, you really don't know what you are talking about. There are many opportunities out there, if they would just use their resources. I know how many soldiers act...when they are being briefed on these resources and programs, most of them were too busy talking, etc to pay attention. It happens all of the time...many just don't use or pay attention to their benefits.

  • @MAOfights

"These e-mails were from Devon, OGE, and group with ..."

How many soldiers you have actually sat down had conversation with?

  • @allgoo19

Thousands....and that is not an exageration.

  • @MAOfights

    "Thousands....and that is not .."

And what their answers were when you asked them why they were not taking jobs?

By the way, why you didn't tell me this from the beginning? And what kind of position you are in to ask thousands of them such questions?

  • @allgoo19

I am an NCO in the US Army Reserve. I also work in Operations Management for a Fortune 500 company. I speak with applicants, people at job fairs and soldiers that I encounter operationally. Most of them are unaware, despite being "educated" of their opportunities and options, what they can do to help secure solid employment or skills training/education. Trust me...they are briefed heavily, and many will admit that they did not pay attention.

  • @MAOfights

"I am an NCO in the US Army Reserve"

In such a position you are in, all you do is to come to youtube and calling your comrades "lazy"'

What does doing so helps your buddies? Have you tried to make your superiors aware of it?

What else you do to make it better for the veterans specially many of them are mentally disturbed from PTSD? Or you have no willingness to do so?

  • @allgoo19

Guy, do not, for one second, think that I do not take care of my soldiers. I do more so than many of my peers. My superiors are aware of it. In my unit, our soldiers are aware of programs that are out there, or at least know to ask. I run across these other soldiers everyday, and they are the ones out of the know. If you only knew HOW MANY classes they endure, you may understand why they don't pay close attention all the time.

We are not even going to get into PTSD. It is a ....

  • @MAOfights

"Guy, do not, for one second, think that .."

You avoid answering when it's inconvenient.

How does calling your buddies "lazy" in youtube helps the situation?

  • @allgoo19

I call a spade a spade. They have been given the opportunity to be educated. I have seen how these soldiers act often when faced with ppt's. I have also asked many of these soldiers if they remember these briefings, and often what I hear is "yeah, but I didn't *insert excuse*". Soldiers I know who have used these programs have had no problems at all. Hell, I'm not even looking and I got a call from a state agency the other day asking if I needed veterans assistance in finding a job

  • @MAOfights

    "I call a spade a spade. "

It's not explaining what good it does.

    Try again.

"How does calling your buddies "lazy" in youtube helps the situation?"

  • @allgoo19

You sure fixate on the strangest things for someone trying to prove a point. All you need to be considered with is that I take care of my Soldiers and any Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, or Guardsman that I encounter.

You obviously don't understand the military very well...or NCO's....if you think that me being blunt and to the point is a problem. There are lazy soldiers, just like there are phenomenal soldiers. There are many who just don't put in the effort. I see them daily.

  • @MAOfights

"You sure fixate on the strangest things .."

We are here to discuss matter by trying to convingce others by explaining. Nothing strange about it. Since you don't ask yourself necessary questions to yourself, I'm asking you reasonable question.

    Please explain.

How does calling your buddies "lazy" in youtube helps the situation?

  • @allgoo19

Still fixating on the irrelevant are ya? Well, like I said, sorry if I seem a bit blunt, but it is what us, NCO's, are known for. What do you call someone who was provided the information and chose to ignore it? You still are not arguing a valid point, because your points have been easily countered since they are backed by week spin.

Sorry guy, the programs are out there. You obviously don't understand enough about the military to advocate for these servicemembers like many of us do

  • @MAOfights

"Still fixating on the irrelevant are ya? Well.."

It's not unvalid at all, specially considering your position, says you, I'm starting to doubt about that too. In youtube, anybody can make up anything.

You have no opinion of your own action?

How does calling your buddies "lazy" in youtube helps the situation?

    Answer?

  • @allgoo19

Doubt my position all you want, but the truth is....if this is your fixation then you are missing the point entirely and really do not understand the military. I am fair, but blunt. I help the lazy, but it does not change that they are lazy. They have to want to work to get things done. Too many expect things to be handed to them. I help them open the door, but I can't do the work for them.

  • @MAOfights

"Doubt my position all you want, but .."

It's not a direct answer to my question.

Or are you admitting you have insulted your buddies in youtube without any positive result from that, because it's the military way?

  • @allgoo19

....it is considered a protected disability class, and I have spent quite a bit of time educating my company, and a few others. I don't have access to everyone, but I work my ass off. My wife is a mental health practicioner, and I am acutely aware of what challenges may be faced by these soldiers. I know of programs out there for them, and direct them/educate them every chance I get.

  • coming back from transcendental experiences, soldiers are marginalized by this culture. instead of being incorporated into the consciousness of decision-making chicken-hawks dominate decision-making.

seriously, if Obama was a Red army private, an Afghan mujahadeen or a US army soldier it'd be all different.

  • Love em or hate him, he does the most patriotic thing at that is advocate for change. While most of your country is uneducated retards that cant find Iraq on a map and that would vote for American Idol than the American presidency, Michael actually does something. Whether that is good or bad is another opinion. Michael hates Obama by the way.

  • War is good for warlords, it burns the soul of average participant. Once you kill a human your life is never the same.

  • My ex-roommate served in Desert Shield. He had Hell everytime he went to the VA or needed treatement since he was exposed to a minute amount of some nerve agent while carrying a civilian off the battlefield. I saw what he went through & would spend an hour having to argue to get him treatment @ the VA. It's saddening what our vets come home to after risking their lives for this country!

  • I've always though that veterans should be allowed to go to ANY hospital of their choice. That would have two benefits: Mainstreaming veterans back into the public fold and keeping hospitals honest since veterans would report a FUBAR hospital immediately to the authorities.
