"Emos" copied some of the gothic style (and many things of other styles)... they create poor superficial lyrics and arrangements and are not original, this can not be compared to Joy Division and other bands of end 70's and 80's... on that decade we had the born of the real Dark style, something new at that moment... Joy Diviion is the transition of Punk to Dark/Gothic, too much important to the scene... "Emos" are... cry children maybe?...

The song is about a girl he met in an home for people with extreme epilepsy, and how his epilepsy was getting worse, and his thoughts that he will end up like that.

Close, zeberdee. How it came about was that Ian worked at a jobcentre as a DRO(Disablement Resettlement Officer) and his job was to assist people with disabilities find work.

One of the people he helped was this epileptic girl(Ian himself was epileptic, so it would ahve struck a chord with him). When she stopped coming into the Jobcentre he phoned her family and was told that she'd had a really bad fit and died, and that event inspired this song.
