Was this video game based off of true events and real people? I played this a lot when I was younger thinking it was just fictional, but then I started reading about ppl like Lu Bu and Sun Ce on wikipedia and apparently these people were actually real too?

@AlaskanWildernessMan Technically yes. You see, Dynasty Warriors is based off of a historic novel, "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". Said novel was essentially a chronicle of the actual period in Chinese History. Although granted, many of the things in the game have been twisted around quite a bit, and there's no way to tell how accurate the novel really is.

@MrMoros1 Got ya. So it's based off a fictional novel which is based on true historical events/people, and the Dynasty Warriors series is like an exaggeration of that historical period of Chinese History.  Appreciate the feedback.

@MrMoros1 it's true that the guy who wrote the three kingdoms wasn't actually there but he had eyewitness accounts of what actually happens, it's like a guy who writes a book about the revolutionary war 300 years later today, you don't know it's accurate but the witnesses and research credifies it

@MrMoros1 The game is based on ROTK and the author of it exaggerated parts of the history like Guan Yu's Guan Dao (his pole blade weapon) weighing 100 pounds, Zhang Jiao being a sorcerer, or Cao Cao being haunted by a man over 100 years old. Other than exaggeration and the making of some fictional characters, its pretty legit.

6 is so an so, the characters got waay better and the move set is more unique for story characters!

as for gameplay, its quite fun, work with army, siege castles, swim across rivers, sneak attack and jump above enemy undetected! but the fighting and combos were.....not as great as before
