  • IM NOT EVEN SOLO YET. I LOVE THE ASK21 AND WANT TO FLY AEROBATICS.

ILL HAVE TO STICK TO DOING THEM WITH MY 4METER SCALE ASK21 RC GLIDER FOR NOW.

  • could you tell me the songname please? :) very nice video ;)

  • Cant remember the track.... but the group is Salt Tank.... sorry I cant help... however ive me a few days and I will try to dig out the CD....

    Gally

  • ASk 21 awesome :)

  • Hey Gally is that yaw string been stuck down!!!

  • Common Gally you look like you're trying to squeeze one out , SMILE

  • @tmtangomikefly He cant he must do that to keep blood at his head.

  • Hi from Cyprus from Crusaders Gliding....i remember you when i was learning to fly there and you visit us...Sir that's really awesome...i wish one day to become a pilot like you....!!!pls give us more videos!!!

  • nice display @ clip

  • ask-21 the best gliders come from germany^^

  • Beautiful

  • More info? Is it an ASK21? Where is it filmed? Who is he?

  • Yes it is an ASK21 filmed in Buckinghamshire and its me.

  • Heh, cool, thanks for reply. Come down to North Hill one day and try out our recently reskinned K21. I'll film from the back before being ill :)

  • his face ..xD

  • what is this song ? ATB ?

  • Yes its Salt Tank, sorry to the person who did answer correctly I stabbed the block user in error

  • Hehehe lock on his face there is a lot of G-forces !

Great flying a very god pilot !!!

  • impressed. Great flying

Watched 3 times, will do again :)

  • Nice video! I like flying the k-21!

  • Nicely done. Re-assuring that the K21 tailplane does'nt wobble too much...

  • do you need a license to fly a glider like this?

  • In the UK you just have to go solo after a specified amount of training...

  • how much does a glider like this cost

  • Not much change out of 90,000 Euro's

  • Thanks for this amazing video about your professional flight. You should be called "a flying scotsman" if you really one are. I have seen your dual towing, is the towplane a bit too weak for the task, isn't it?

  • At the end of the video this guy is TOO DAMN LOW!!!

Pity he only does barrell rolls to the left... it would have been even cooler if he had performed some of them to the right.

    Awesome stunts, though!!!

    Great pilot!!!

  • he isnt that low, im not sure about power aerobatics but glider aerobatic pilots can fly manouvers down to a certain height agl depending on thier ability, new pilots are limited to 1500/2000 feet i think, this can then be lowered to as much as 0! lol

theres one instructor at my club who likes to do 3 or 4 winch launches off a winch launch (which is only about 900ft agl on average)

  • agree fgbjk, his last manuover was 3 times over, he must have finished within a few hundred feet of the ground... what a vid though, nice work from the bloke, love the expressions on his face as he puts her through her paces...

  • I can only do them to the left, thank you for your kind comments.

  • Nice, did You start Your glider whit this rockets on the wing tips?

  • i don't give a crap about what about what anybody else thinks or says, this maniac is really good!!an outside loop with a barrel roll at the top! come on!!

  • Wish I could, would be an interesting manoeuvre in a ASK21

  • Love all the gruntin' and groanin' on your face. You get up to about 3 g's there Maverick?

  • Gally 1,

What stabilizer mount did you use on your camera to great those great shots?

  • Nice, I can do loops and stuff in my glider but i just cant manage a roll, When i try it kinda goes into a chandell

  • Those images with music from "Salt Tank"....Enchanting!! Can't wait until it's summer again...

  • Easy

  • wow, I looks SOOO fun... how much stress can the plane take?

  • +5.3 and -3.0 G's. VNE of 151Kts and VMA of 97Kts. Good for training! :-)

  • by the look on your face, i could tell you went through some good G

  • Beautiful! But looks like hard work :)

  • Excellent flying Gally, you certainly know what you are doing! The video is very very cool - and it also shows you had a very good rhythm going, I liked the flow from one manoeuvre to the next, nice energy management. Rolls vg :-) I also enjoyed watching your bracing and clenching in managing the Gs. Tres beaut, great fun, goodonya!

  • Cheers Gally - Loved the Aeros in the Lo 100 at Honington during the inter-services!! - Proper Laughs all round!! Was it you doing the solo display on the second? last day? Looked very smooth from the ground - much more interesting and smoother than the Twin K21 - although that was some good synchro flying

  • It was a laugh in the thing too, ended up with a rist slap though. I did some trips in the 21 so quite possibly. Cheers buddy

  • cool gliding. search stillhewalks Bud Sutherland video clip 1932 looping glider. Has record 72 consecutive loops

  • Amazing video. Can only imagin what you felt up there. Thanks.

  • Very nice video!!! In our aeroclub we are waiting for one ASK 21. We think that is an excellent glider for the basic acro manuevers. We have had two crash with the grob 103 acro. Have we ono of this glider. Have we had problems? Bye and have nice G!!!

  • wow amazing!

But the manual of the plane (ASK-21)says that tailslides are prohibited and I think the first maneuver of the vid is a tailslide. Maybe you are overstressing the acft. BTW, nice video! =)

  • Thank you for your comments, you are quite correct tail slides are not in the ASK21's maneuver portfolio are are indeed prohibited. The one flown is a canopy up humpty-bump flown slow over the top to leave two noticable red plumes of smoke from the ground, you can also see this from the reflection in the canopy. I do value your comments and hope i have cleared that one up. Regards Gally

  • Ps you will also notice that at no point does the rear yaw string track forward.

  • Hi there I really like your camera angel, how did you do that.

Do you have some kind of fittings outside the plane?

    Regards Sten

  • Man at real work!

  • I wonder why the roll rate is so slow on this a/c. Usually they're much better, unless this is not an actual aerobatic glider.

  • This glider is an ASK21, it is used for aerobatic training however it does indeed have a slow roll rate. It has not been designed for aerobatics alone such as the swift or fox.

  • Oh!, very nice video!, How many G`s you can feel during the looping?, 3 G´s may be 4 G´s

  • Muito bom o video, piloto helicopteros mas nunca voei de planador!, very very nice!

  • Gliders are cool planes and they're green too!

  • omarbadr36, i kind of agree with you there. Gliders are much more fun. but you need a plane to tow you up.

  • You can always use a winch instead of a plane. That has an engine, but who cares?

  • Gliders are the way to go! Scew engines !!

  • Very nice video. Would love to see the finished article.

  • its cool :)

  • Brilliant video, very well done! How did you rig the camera? is that a K-21?

  • Nice video

  • well done too nice i enjoyed your video

  • great video and flying.

even better, maybe try the camera facing forward next time?

  • This the first one. We have done one from the rear and now waiting for another day with same sky.. cut and paste all three.. Thank you for your comments.

  • god bless ur hear man cuz i would never do that

  • Why not?

  • becuz imma wus and i have really bad nerves fear is a terrible thing
