You know filmmakers take their work seriously when they portray soldiers as Jessica Biel with her long hair down, unlike an actual female soldier, and use a rapper as one of the starring roles. I'm not even going to waste my time with this cheesy looking "salute the troops" movie. I'll stick with actual good war movies.

Jingoism 101 - over 2 million Iraqis dead due to the illegal invasion and over 5 million are refugees because of it, and the only "victims" the US cares to cry about are the soldiers that had no guts to NOT follow illegal orders. Nothing done in Iraq benefits anyone, other than the billionaire contractors, no WMD's, Saddam was put in power by the US and could have easily been removed through negotiations and political pressure, the brave thing would have been not to participate in this murder.

I like this movie alot of people bash it and say alot of untrue things about us soldiers but this movie bought back alot of memories for me personally and 50 cent aka curtis jackson did a good job showing what it can be like personally as a soldier trying to deal with the after math of doing what u got to do and living with it and not feeling understood even by the people you care about the most I felt almost as if his role was a more tragec version of my own struggles readjusting to home

I do not see the movie as being about who is right or wrong in the conflict. Obvious to me anyway is that the main characters saw it from both aspects. The main theme as I saw it was the brother hood shared by those that were there. They need not be in the same conflict but share the bonds of having been under fire and in dire stress. I feel a kindred ship with the character for I to was one who would choose to lay down my life for my fellow man. It was not for themselves they ache...

However, I think the movie is more about the people, not just as American soldiers in a war that a lot of people don't agree with, but as human beings and the emotions that come with seeing the sort of things that soldiers see in battle. The soldiers could have easily been played as a different nationality. Anybody put into that situation would likely come out with the same sort of psychological effects.

I like this movie alot of people bash it and say alot of untrue things about us soldiers but this movie bought back alot of memories for me personally and 50 cent aka curtis jackson did a good job showing what it can be like personally as a soldier trying to deal with the after math of doing what u got to do and living with it and not feeling understood even by the people you care about the most I felt almost as if his role was a more tragec version of my own struggles readjusting to home

I do not see the movie as being about who is right or wrong in the conflict. Obvious to me anyway is that the main characters saw it from both aspects. The main theme as I saw it was the brother hood shared by those that were there. They need not be in the same conflict but share the bonds of having been under fire and in dire stress. I feel a kindred ship with the character for I to was one who would choose to lay down my life for my fellow man. It was not for themselves they ache...

I actually really enjoyed this film. I thought it had alot of heart in it. Especially Jessica Biel's character. Very passionate film. @tbt4life I understand where you're coming from and to an extent, I do agree. However, I think the movie is more about the people, not just as American soldiers in a war that a lot of people don't agree with, but as human beings and the emotions that come with seeing the sort of things that soldiers see in battle. The soldiers could have easily been played as a different nationality. Anybody put into that situation would likely come out with the same sort of psychological effects.

@TrueTriad4Life We didn't put Saddam into power. Saddam was long in power since 1979. The CIA/MI6 did finance and support the Baath Party into power in 1963 after the assassination of communist leader Qasim but we didn't put Saddam into power. He was in power as the leader of Iraq since 1979.
And no one said that Iraq had to do with 9/11.
