I totally forgot I had posted this video. He did have a stifle problem in both legs. The damage to the stifles was so severe the vet said that with surgery he would never walk. He also had no feeling to the nerve endings in his hindquarters. After numerous vet checks and thousands of dollars we sadly had to put him down. He had suffered long enough. My parents did not do a vet check because they bought him for me from a trainer of 5 years Found out they had been drugging the horse Lesson learned
i'd say have him trot and look at that im not good at telling if a horse is off except when theyre bobbing their head cuz i just started experiencing lame horses but ya vet check and check out his trot way easier to tell
Can't really tell from this video, but I think that it might be a common issue for barrel horses to have stifle issues, just like a dressage horse might tend to have trouble in the hocks.
I can see what you are getting at with the stifle comment - he has a bit of a 'hopping' gait doesn't he? but that might just be normal for him. 99% of the people commenting on here havn't a clue what they're talking about so this isn't a good place to get valid opinions - your best bet is a vet check. Otherwise, you could try working on his flatwork and see if he improves as he strengthens up?
I have to agree with pebbles about the pace. A trot video shot directly from the back, front and side would have been a much better indicator. The quality of the video also doesn't lend itself to a quality eval.
canter is a tricky pace to assess for soundness, especially awhilst turning! if you think it is lame stop doing barrels and get him looked at. assess for lameness on a hard surface , in-hand first on a loose rope, walk and trot and turns on each side. this is not a vid that can be used for what you are asking
i dont no i tink maybe 1 of his back legs bt im nt a expert just guessing...my horse is lame 4 da last week or so and wen he stands the leg that he is lame on he keeps resting and id advise not riding him till u get a vet out hope dat helped xxxxx
y r u riding it when u think it's lame? I take it your parents didn't have a vet vet it before you bought it? I can't tell from the vid btw. Just get a vet out.

He seems lame on one of his backs. I would have a vet check him out or you can do flexion test.
