  • And yet it is worth to stop listening to this and start the game!

  • This soundtrack is a collaboration between two of the best video game composers:

Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono series, Xenogears, Xenosaga series, Shadow Hearts: Covenant, Arc Rise Fantasia).

Yoko Shimomura (Final Fight, Street Fighter II, Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana, Kingdom Hearts series)

  • @Jagged85 ACE+(Tomori Kudo, CHiCO, Kenji Hiramatsu) and Manami Kiyota also composed pieces for this.

ACE+ did Emil Chronicle Online, which had an amazing soundtrack, and Manami Kiyota has done some work with Final Fantasy and the Black Mages.

  • Plus que 22 jours avant de pouvoir toucher à ce bijou !

  • Plus que 22 jours avant de pouvoir toucher à ce bijou !

  • Support operation rainfall by signing the petitiononline petition to localize these games

  • Xenoblade in Europe !

    Alléluia !

  • Neon Genesis Evangelion, Xenogears, Xenosaga, Friedrich Nietzsche... anything to do with any of these I'm a crazy fan of. If this doesn't come stateside, I'm going to be pissed... or learn Japanese... seriously! Xenogears is my 2nd fav game of all time, Xenosaga series was mind blowing (to me), and ... plz announce it here!

  • *sniff* Xenosaga will be missed and Chaos, but I really cant wait for this game. *sniff* T.T XENOBLADE GAME ON! >3<

  • A lot of clipping, probably normalized wrongfully.

  • such beautiful video game music this is some of the best i have ever herd

  • This is so nice; I really like it.

  • If possible, for me, Shimomura has managed to eclipse Mitsuda in terms of diversity and breadth of talent.

  • Its a pretty song..but it makes me miss xenosaga more...

  • Yoko Shimomura and Yasunori Mitsuda, a dream come true. Beautiful.

  • So how is Xenoblade related to Xenogears or Xenosaga?

  • the music is better than ff 13. i wish this game will be on ps3 . . .

  • thumbs up if it sounds like ventus theme

  • This theme is EPIC!

  • Wow, this is without a doubt one of the most beautiful videogame music.

  • I wanna thank Yoko Shimomura for Great video game music's she made like kingdom hearts series, Mario RPG's and of course remix for Super smash bros brawl. Thank you Yoko Shimomura. Thank you.

  • this is awesome... if they use this as like there menu music that would be cool

  • Why didnt I know of this games existance till now.

PS Xenoblade is a way better name than Monado.

  • @vaultboy123 Lol at you.

  • @vaultboy123 Too bad, it's the highest rated JRPG of this generation.

  • I heard those two giants are the overworld of the game O.o

  • AMAZING MUSIC

  • Yay my favorite composer will compose music for both xenoblade and arc rise fantasia. Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross has the best music in a video game ever.

  • This is so goddamn beautiful.

  • Epic. cant wait til this comes out in U.S.

  • So good. This sounds soooo, good!

  • Anyone else think Mitsuda and Shimomura should get married and have, like, a hundred kids? It'd be the best musical family since the Bachs.

I think this might actually induce me to get a Wii. =O

  • The piano (at least at some parts) sounds very Yoko Shimomura, yet at the same time there is a Yasunori Mitsuda sort of thing about this. Hm...

Maybe it was composed by both of them?

  • @HollowCauses Mitsuda is only composing a vocal theme, this and most of the OST is from Shimomura.

  • As much as I hope this game to have some of Xenogear's coolness, what made Xenogears special was it's pure EPIC story that dealt with psychology and God, not just the kickass robot action. But this is looking great so far, and amazing music!

  • Damn, dude! I may have to get this game just so I can enjoy the music!

  • It sounds very beautiful~

I can't wait for this to come out for the Wii. <3

  • Rare is gone!

Now it's Monolithsoft who takes it's place as the most awesome first party developer of Nintendo alongside Retro Studios!

  • Lets hope Xenoblade will revive Xenosaga.

  • @JizzInMyPantsLol xenogearsisbetter*COUGH*.

  • Okay I'm totally sold! I'm gonna have to get a Wii. Big fan of the Xeno franchise.

  • download pls

  • Xenoblade might just convince me toward finally getting a Wii.

  • I wonder if you get to fight as one of those 2 giants. That'd be awesome!!!!

  • Isn't the composer for this game also working on Final Fantasy 13 Versus?

  • hellz yeah muthuhfuckah

that's some serene-ass orchestra you got going there boi

  • Beautifull music :´)

  • why they thumb you down? no harm in wishing it was on your ststem

  • Nope. It's made by Monolith and is only for the Wii. Sorry.

  • no way in heck would be for xbox.

  • wth, what did i say to get so many thumbs down? grow up.

  • Yeah, it's Yoko Shimomura.

  • The guy who does the music for Xenoblades did Kingdom Hearts. That's why it's similar.

  • Yoko Shimomura is actually a female, but yeah, she's working on this game.

  • I will have to get a Wii now because I own all the other xeno games(I know this one has nothing to do with others) and i really enjoyed all of them

  • way to fall for nintendos marketing scheme.. but might as well pick up metroid other m, monster hunter tri, super mario galaxy 2, the last story and new zelda to go along with it

  • i hope this game will be as good as the others Xeno games

  • This music is very reminiscent of the Baten Kaitos series. Beautiful music. I love those games. =)

  • The reason it have the Xeno name is beacuse its made by the same people who did Xenogears/saga

  • I feel like a lot of video game music attempts to invoke emotion, yet few succeed in actually doing so. This is one of those exceptions to the rule.

    This song is beautiful...

  • @Drausin While I disagree, I do agree this piece is beautiful. I wonder who the composer is...

  • I think its Yasunori Mitsuda same one who did Xenogears, Xenosaga 1

  • @Ctk80 I don't think so. It doesn't sound like his style, and I've been listening to him for a LONG time. It sounds a bit more of Kaoru Wada of Kingdom Hearts. Hmmm..

  • @Sepharite I was thinking it sounded a bit like Kingdom Hearts.

  • They haven't say anything about the composer yet. Could be anyone.

But I wouldn't be surprised if it is Mitsuda. This piece suits him.

  • wrong it's not it'sTetsuya Takahashi and it's not related to xenogears nor xenosaga. is a whole diffirent thing. First, to get something out of the way, Xenoblade has Xeno in the title, but is not at all related to Xenogears or Xenosaga

  • @FrostGibbon It's coming 100% for the Wii.

  • In the comments, you guys all think this is Xeno related, but I'm sorry to say that Iwata said the only reason they put Xeno in the name was because of all the hard work Takahashi put in the Xeno series. I was saddened too.

  • lol u guys complaining about what system it will be on. i will buy the system for that game only as i have done in the past several times. i bought a ps2 twice. and a dsi because kosmos was in it. i guess ill get a wii or a ps3 once it comes

  • It shouldn't matter what system it goes to, because the fans will know this game will be amazing. I'm just glad Nintendo/Namco is continuing the franchise.

  • Can't believe everyone here is under this impression - I'm sorry to say it, but Xenoblade has nothing to do with Xenogears or Xenosaga, whatsoever. It's just a game called Monado: Beginning of the World renamed to attract a larger audience.

    Sorry.

  • What makes a Xenogame a Xenogame? A Great Story, a lot of phylosophical references and social/politcal themes, a great background with elements of sci-fi, Mecha and the presence of the Zohar (which is in fact the only fil rouge connecting Xenosaga to Xenogears). Well with just a trailer, an image and the name Monado we can tell that phylosophical references and mecha are there. We also know that Takahashi is working on this. I don't know why everyone is complaining to be honest

  • Oh I'm not complaining at all, the game can still be excellent, I just wanted everyone to know that it wasn't specifically related to the Xenosaga series, as has been officially announced.

Xenoblade is its own universe, its own characters, its own tale. No elements of sequel will be present, they are not 'continuing the franchise' or anything like that.

Just wanted to make that clear to everyone who has this misconception.

  • @GoldenEyeRa

What's this now? You have magical insight into what the game is all about and have gone through the entire thing? Amazing!

Anyway, we don't know whether it does or not for sure. It might just relate to Xenosaga as much as that series does to Gears. And that's good enough for me, honestly.

  • This is a Nintendo game

  • Comment removed

  • @shadowzerogirl

Keep on praying, there's no chance a PS3 version would exist when Nintendo already made trademark for this game.

  • Comment removed

  • @shadowzerogirl

To add on to blueswan1984's statement:

In addition, Monolith, the developer, is OWNED by Nintendo now and works as a second party studio (like Retro who did Metroid Prime series)... there is no way the game will end up on any other system outside of the Wii, sorry.

  • @Athrun122

having better graphic doesn't necessarily mean it's next-gen.

  • Are you trying to purposefully piss off people for no reason? At least elaborate why you think Wii isn't a next gen system instead of trolling. It just reeks of immaturity.

  • Xenosaga is amazing.

  • Square had Xenogears. Namco had Xenosaga. And now Nintendo has Xenoblade? Could this day be the day that Nintendo gets a slice of the Xeno- pizza pie?

  • @HamonLord Actually it's all the exact same team. They left square and made Monolith Soft which has designed all xeno games since

  • @Loz8900 Same team, different companies, amiriteorwat?

  • Ps - I feel honored that that this is the second time I've seen a comment of mine make it up to the highest rated section. :)

  • @HamonLord yup pretty much. They left square, and then they founded Monolith Soft in 1999 and then they got picked up by Namco. So in other words, they're a development team owned by Namco, similar to Project Aces being owned by Namco

  • @Loz8900 But it's now a part of Nintendo. So it's like Nintendo is the third part of the Xeno-/Monolith continuum.

  • @HamonLord Yup, pretty much as of 2007, Namco sold Monolith Soft to Nintendo

  • @Loz8900 Might there be a chance that Nintendo actually collaborates with monolith soft to make a real xeno- sequel in the distant future?

  • @HamonLord That would be awesome, but i don't think it's gonna happen. When the 3rd one came out, they said it was gonna be the last one and when asked about any sequals, they said it was a trilogy and nothing more. So, I honestly don't think so, but that doesn't mean that they can't still surprise us.

  • @Loz8900 Couldn't they at least carry on the series with a new suffix named? Completely different characters and story, but same sci-fi crap.

  • @HamonLord They could possibly, but I don't know if they would be able to. Cause xenosaga was all based on the bible and Fredrick Neitzhe (or however it's spelled) And i would think it would be kind of hard to make another game without drawing from xenosaga too much. But i don't know. They're the designers, not me, so they can probably think of something. If they will though is another matter....

  • @Loz8900 I wish they could.

  • @HamonLord We'll just have to wait and see at future gaming conventions to see if there's gonna be anything happening. It is still a possibility and it has a pretty big fan base, so it's not like they'd lose any money or anything. I mean Xenogears had actually quite a bit to do with Xenosaga, but it's just not as futuristic and such.

  • @Loz8900 From what I gather from their fans, I think this xenogears was just as "cosmic" or "sci-fi" in storyline as xenosaga.

  • @HamonLord Ya it was, had lot's of similar themes and ideas. Such as giant robots, the triangle, X, and Square fighting system from the first Xenosaga, lot's of sci fi elements, great storyline, interesting characters and everything. It's DEFINATELY worth a play if you haven't before and you like Xenosaga. If you have a modded PSP you can find it online easily, or you can buy it online for relatively cheap.

  • @Loz8900 Tbh, I'm only a nintendo person. Please don't kill me.

  • @HamonLord lol you need to get out more! Shouldn't limit yourself to one console. Like to me i don't really like the Wii because of the game selection. I like RPGS and action games, but the Wii doesn't have hardly any good RPGS, and action games on the Wii just don't mix with the inaccurate Wiimote. But that's just my opinion. If you really like RPGS though, you should pick up a PS2 sometime. PS2 is the best system for RPGS ever

  • @Loz8900 Ps2 AND PSX :D Are the best RPG consoles, and that's JRPG's that I am talking about ;)

  • @XDoomriderX Yup. In my opinion, PC rpgs hold no ground when going against console rpgs. They just lack the story and depth that come with console rpgs and i get tired of point and click crap all the time. Plus not to mention you pretty much need a super computer to run any modern game, and you can get a PSX/PS2 for anywhere from $1-$50. Can't beat that at all

  • @Loz8900 Just to be fair, you've got good RPGs on the Xbox 360. That is, if your into western RPGs. Dragon Age : Origins (on PS3 and PC too), the Mass Effect series (PC too), Jade Empire (PC/Xbox 1. Might not work on the 360), Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Resonnance of Fate (I probably miss some of them). ;-)

But yeah the PS2/PSX is filled with JRPGs. Problem is (for me) they are _ linear_ (unlike the Bioware games), and in that regard not _role_ playing games (not really).

  • @xcomcmdr Ya there's quite a few good rpgs out there for the 360, but PS2 has been around for a lot longer, therefore they have a lot of rpgs, lol. I'm sure the 360 will get there someday, just might take a little longer then the PS2/PS3. You missed Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean, and a few others, lol.

Well depends on what JRPG you play, really. Some are linear to a point, then they branch off to a HUGE game. But that's just your opinion, which is perfectly fine, lol.

  • @Loz8900 I'm sorry but all the JRPGs I played, and it seems to be like that for majority of them, won't give you any freedom to drive the story the way you want.

In Fallout 1/2, I can be evil if I want to, and that leads to totally different outcomes (or death :P) that your character has to live with (and for the Mass Effect series, it changes the sequels quite a lot).

Most of JRPGs are good (story-wise) I'm sure, but the linearity of most JRPGs is too boring in the end. Quality!=Quantity.

  • @Loz8900 PS : (stupid character limit) Don't get me wrong, I'm still loving Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and dying to see Xenoblade in Europe. I just don't play a lot of JRPGs anymore, unless they are really unique.

  • @xcomcmdr I completely understand your opinion. Like with me, I'm not too big on Fallout simply because it's just an over used system and i don't feel as much depth in it or any of the side quests i would like to. Mass Effect and Dragon Age did that Real well. I thought that every side quest i did was pretty fun (some boring ones but not many) and they played out great.

But to me, i just feel like JRPGs offer more of a storytelling experience and not just a go here do that system.

  • @Loz8900 hum, "just go here do that" does not describe at all Mass Effect or Dragon Age, where you can go anywhere you want, and kill the good guys if you want to! O_O

Neverwinter Nights (with it's boring story line and side quests) certainly fits into it, though. As for JRPGs, well the linearity make them fell exaclty like a "to do list" with no choice (a prime exemple are the Tales of series, were choices are only smoke thrown at the player)

  • @xcomcmdr Well what i mean by that is there's no depth to the side quests. It's just "Go investigate this ship and inevitably shoot all the bad guys, then after you're done with that go to the next mission." I'm not saying it's bad but you can't go anywehere you want and do anything you want. It still has a set path. GTA and Just Cause 2 are PRIME examples of free roam games. Where you can take a break from missions and just go and do whatever.

  • @Loz8900 "Inevitably shoot the bad guys" describes s*** like Fallout 3 (Bethesda <_<) and NeverWinter Nights 1 main campaign (the MODs are something else).

But, it doesn't describe at all the side missions of Mass Effect 1.. nor the main quest. In most of both, you have some choice, and the quests are not the same (not the same choice. Sometimes it's ethical problems with no real solution), and the outcome is different

Mass Effect 2 loose that a little, but your previous choices have an impact

  • @Loz8900 GTA ? yeah free roam, but no freedom, no heart-breaking choices, no mistakes that you can make and have to live with, etc....

Anyway, I think we are going in circles. If you have the chance to play Mass Effect or Dragon Age you'll understand better what I'm talking about. My latest Shepard in ME1 was a complete bastard who murdered everyone, including a side characters (on purpose), and lot of other good people. So, ME2 was a totally different experience (and I was still an ass).

  • @xcomcmdr I don't think that decisions really define a game. I believe gameplay does. And Mass Effect, Dragon Age, KOTOR, and Fallout get really bland after a while in terms of gameplay. I do love all those games, but it's always the same thing over and over and over again. In JRPGs, MANY side quests are different and are more involved.

With GTA, you can just run around for hours killing everyone in sight and not get bored, but you can't do that on Mass Effect or Dragon Age

  • @Loz8900 My experience is the other way around (and I don't count Fallout 3 as a good game, nor many non-Bioware western "RPGs", nor tne NeverWinter Nights series).

Killing aimlessly in GTA gets me bored every time. GTA isn't a RPG (you don't make your character, for instance, it's the same guy for every one, just ilke in JRPGs).

Anyway, I think we have an agreement over our disagreement ^^

    It was interesting anyway. ;-)

  • @xcomcmdr I know GTA isn't an RPG, i was just stating THAT is what an open world game is (go where you want, do what you want) I think the only western game that has actually lived up to that is Borderlands (that i can think of), but even that has some limitations.

Lol ya, i never really disagreed. Just stating my opinions on the matter. I respect the fact that everyone is going to have their own preference based upon MANY reasons.

  • @xcomcmdr And honestly, i don't think that the decision system really works in a JRPG and would rather just stick to a central storyline that doesn't deviate into different paths.

And again, don't get me wrong, i love both styles, it just depends on my mood which one i feel like playing

  • @xcomcmdr Well, i happen to like all kind of RPG,so yeah,I'm crazy enough to buy all 3 consoles to play all games,

Which i must say,Its worth the money

  • @XDoomriderX someone missed out on the SNES and NES JRPGs

  • @Dsilink Who? you?

  • @XDoomriderX

    no

the person who said the ps2 and the ps1 are the best consoles for RPGs

ps1 - really good with RPGs but still not as good as the SNES

ps2 - good but not close to the ps1

and i would also say the ds and psp are also two great consoles for rpg players

not sure if better then the ps1 but better then the ps2

  • @Dsilink I have played Rpg's from NES and up til today and I still say that PS1 and PS2 are the consoles with the best RPG/JRPG's.

    #1: Ps1

    #2: Ps2

    #3: SNES

  • @XDoomriderX in that case your the first person i ever saw that played the SNES RPGs and not call it the best console of all time

  • @Dsilink Cool!!! :D What can I say, I have a good grasp on what I like ;)

  • Nice Song :3

  • great music. I liked Xenosaga.

    looking forward to Xenoblade.

  • Everyone put thumbs up for Brea or we'll never be blessed playing DMC again.

  • This music is so good!!! I want more info on this game!!!!! :D:D

  • so, monado is realy a xenogears sequel? that´s fucking awesome =D

  • @herigore

We don't know. We just know they chose to change the name to "Xenoblade". >.>

  • @herigore it is related to the series as iwata said

At E3 2009 it was announced with a temporary name, Monado: Beginning of the World. We decided to call it XENOBLADE to honor Mr. Tetsuya Takahashi who poured his soul into making this and who has been working on the XENO series.

  • Linda tonada, muy agradable realmente.

    ;OP

  • Esto es una belleza, una belleza!

  • All of the xeno soundtrakes are nothing like this thats why i think this game is not the xeno games you retarded people are thinking of

  • 0.52 : from that point till the end this theme reminds me a lot of June Mermaid (Xenogears OST) and in general it has a very "Mitsuda" feeling to it. (i can't explain this, but hearing over and over Xenogears and Chrono Cross soundtrack has given me the ability to immediately recognize Yasunori's style)

Plus the image used for this video's the most Xenogears-esque thing i've seen since Xenogears (yes, even more Xenogears-esque than Xenosaga)

I'm confident this game will live up to its expectation

  • great song

  • Beautiful.

  • Yes. I was a bit harsh...and tired. I wrote that comment impulsively. Sorry! This isn't especially bad...This is very typical J-RPG-music. Unfortunately that means it is very forgettable too. I just think composers should shape up in a quest to find memorable melodies and I hope that people would expect a little more from composers!

I think this(as well as the earlier trailer) sounded more like Motoi Sakuraba from Baten Kaitos. Perhaps the violin does that feel...but I have been wrong before.

  • We'll see who wrote this once the game's credits come around. :3

  • If this is Sakuraba, I would be surprised.

  • Un muy buen juego para Wii, esperare a ver mas para saber si comrparlo o no, demomento tiene un SI

  • I'm surprised you dislike it. I actually really like it. Some people are speculating that the person who wrote this is Yasunori Mitsuda, because he worked on Monolith Soft's previous games, like Xenogears and Xenosaga.

  • @Naikorasu sorry dude but Xenogears is SE game not Monolith Soft but Yasunori Mitsuda is the person that made xenogears

  • Xenogears was published by Squaresoft, not developed by them. Also, Yasunori Mitsuda only wrote the music for the game. He didn't direct the entire project. o_o

  • Allow me to correct myself. Squaresoft actually did develop Xenogears. I was mistaken because of Monolith's developing Xenosaga.

  • Comment removed

  • @Naikorasu

same people. monolith's xeno employees are former square. some sort of old misunderstanding yada yada and alot of peeps quit the giant. So yeah, if this didn't happen, kos-mos would probably be under the banner of xenogears.

  • Comment removed

  • Excellent, excellent, excellent music. Just listening to this music with that beautiful art on the official website gave me chills.

  • Music is Breathtaking

    Absolutely awesome

Finally xenogears becomes a really Sequel i cant wait................

  • @Robbycolonia its not a xenogears Sequel noob

Xenogears is owned by SE not Monolith Soft/Nintendo

  • frengo puzza ma mitsuda spacca :D

    by lozioferra

  • Stupenda. Awesome. すばらしい。

  • beautiful song :) BEAUTIFUL!

  • Sometimes reminds me to Motoi Sakuraba's Baten Kaitos OST and other times to Mitsuda's Crono Cross main theme.

    Beautiful theme indeed.

  • Theme song's beautiful and the gameplay, from last years E3, looks intriguing.....don't like the name change though.

  • @Terrymiester

They changed it because the dev team behind the game is best known for Xenogears and Xenosaga. Basically it's a new Xeno game, just one not directly related to the others (like how most Final Fantasy games aren't connected to others in the series).

I'm just glad that it's been pretty much confirmed North America will see this game. After not getting Monolith's other recent games (Soma Bringer, Xenosaga I&II, and Disaster come to mind), it would be nice to finally get one for once.

  • This theme song is quite beautiful! It would be amazing if Mitsuda was doing the music for this game.

  • WOW this is as beautiful as any Zelda song

  • Yasunori Mitsuda a gogo.

  • @Phraengo YeSSS I am willing to bet this is mitsuda san too. he did make the OST for Soma Bringer, so I'm guessing this too.

  • Xenoooooooooooo

  • How did you find this theme? the only thing shown about this game is that one trailer at E3

  • official website.

  • it's a beautiful theme.

Xeno come back on the Wii!

  • Xeno was never on the Wii dumb ass it was on the PS1 and PS2 as in xenogears and xenosaga what a fucking noob you are hands down .

  • yeah!
