i love this song. and the movie, i stil watch this movie over and over, if i want to see a comedy movie, this is the one, they so wild, high school high. Lol.
Would LOVE to see this movie at the theatre again on the FULL BIG SCREEN!! It makes you feel like you're THERE especially with all the surround sound on the speakers!
Don't know why the Dollar Movies don't show old movies like this on the weekends or week days for people to see if they want! I bet they'd pull in the dough then!
ok, people, i know that those are condoms. and i used that clip because it showed that annette could not have tony. although, i have to say that tony could not really have that girl he was infatuated with either. anyway, thanks for liking the vid.
Annette is showing Tony A packet of condoms..she wants to keep him as a dance patner, and tells him she'll have sex with him..nice girls don't do that..the movie shows her demise, as she gets bombed on the night of the competition and has sex with a couple of guys in the back of the car..this music was only a backdrop to a very relevant, gritty story about life in New York for Ethnic communities.
@deirdrec1 Nice girls(as far as virgin qualities) in New York during the disco era? You're in a fantasy world. I grew up in the disco era and there was so much sex and drugs and perversion going on in the dance clubs you literally expected it, whether you wanted it or not. people were doing 'it' like rabbits and the guys were the biggest perverts of all. The disco era preceded the AIDS era. That was no coincidence, but I understand your view on the movie and see where you're coming from too.
Fran Dresher had a small role in this movie. I wish that Donna Pescow was as lucky as Fran Dresher was in show business. It's ironic that this album was such a huge success at the very end of the disco era.
@darlinkula1 This LP came out in 77, disco faded away in 79. In fact, this LP contributed to the height of the disco craze. You are so wrong with your supposed irony.
@rafaelscreative I love the songs or, rather, the soundtrack. Really phenomenal double LP. If CD's were available back in '77, the OST could have accomodated all of the songs heard in the movie (1/11/12)
@lobecosc Do you remember the sitcom Donna Pescow starred in after Saturday Night Fever? I had to check with IMDB.com to find the name of the show, Angie.
@ValerieBarlow Valerie,my dear. There is no dirty mind. The purest of heart would get it with out your explanation. Are you from the planet Stupida. Your Pal tg58
@geojack71 I'm just an old rikity musician and this song I still play on my acoustic.I was a NYC bike msgr when the movie came out.I took Harriet Againski to see it.One of the best dates of I ever had.Next date with Harriet, I took her to the same disco. She just loved to watch Tony dance. I'd be lucky to be half as good.
@geojack71 So what did you come up with for "How Deep Is Your Love"? I was singing it in the living room 35 years ago and my girlfriend chimed in from the kitchen,"About 7 or 8 inches. A nice christian girl from Long Is. came up with that to my surprise.
I lived through those times and remember swaggering across many a dance floor to the sounds of Yvonne Elliman's awesome voice croon out the lyrics to "If I Can't Have You"...and everytime there was one..ONE girl on my mind while the song played and I danced like I was the only one on the floor. Over 30 years later and the song still conjures up those very same emotions..and about that very same girl...I miss you T.W....oh how I miss you...

I remember those days.. anxiety bout sex (having it/not having/while having/after having it) condoms, girls that that do vs. them that don't.
Who you want and who you don't and who will..
35 yrs later ..
Married now.. anxiety bout sex ..WTF is that?
Think I miss something about the seventies and the 80's, just can't remember what it is...
