i got lucky, haha, I got it before they took down the link. The reason they did was because it was supposed to work until December 2009, but they accidently made it available until 3009, so, they took the link down.

@Saxshoe Better computer = better performance. Also, keep the amount of stuff on screen to a minimum. Try turning the visuals to dots or crosses... improves performance for some, but not for others.

This video was made on a computer with a single-core 3ghz processor, 2 gigs of ram, and a Geforce 7800 video card of some sort (I don't remember exactly which model)

It runs a little better than this when I'm not recording.

Games like these are very RAM intensive, since they need to store all the complex algorithms for the reactions. To combat the frame rate issue just get a better processor. But they are pretty expensive so i think it may be better to buy a new pc instead.

First of all, the capslock is not necessary. Second, it shows up as squares because you don't have japanese language support installed. Third, the download has been removed. OE-Cake is no longer free, to my knowledge.

Search for "powder game" on google. It's a particle physics simulator by some japanese guy/guys named Dan-Ball. It has wind physics and everything.

For a simulator that deals mainly with solid objects, try Phun.

I just got the iTouch/iPhone app made by these guys. It plays just like oecake, but with no mixing elements. But it does use the device's tilt sensor. You can tilt it in any direction to make the gravity change.

.png and .gif work fine as well, but yea, files types that hold an alpha channel are best, the 'jet' thing he used, is actually an accelerator, attach it onto say... a 'rigid' piece, and it will zoom off in that direction, effect works better with no gravity

Like Meeble said, .tiff supports transparancy. You can load pretty much any image file from jpg to png to gif, but they will produce a rectangle instead of a "real" figure. Unfortunately animated gifs won't work. ^^

probably .tiff files because they hold an alpha channel, which is black and white (usually black = transparent, white = opaque). To create the alpha channel in photoshop, go to you channel menu, create a new channel (PS automatically names it alpha1, which is fine) and paint in the transparency.

Faster CPU will handle most physics, but the higher graphics settings are also dependent on your video card.

Basically, it boils down to closing everything on your computer, so that OE-Cake is pretty much all that's running, or if that doesn't help enough, you'll have to get a new computer, or upgrade parts of it if possible.

And before you ask, I doubt RAM will help much.
