  • I used to be a Way member - It's nice to hear "Pressed Down" again, cool!

  • Love is the badge of Christianity!

  • "That all should Honor The Son even as They Honor The Father." John 5:23

This is proof positive that Jesus HIMSELF made HIMSELF EQUAL with God the Father and, as such, called Himself GOD.

For Jesus to say that HE gets the SAME HONOR as The Father is clear language. The Father gets Honor as God, so does The Son ACCORDING TO THIS TEXT!

  • @PureAirSolutions very good observation and clear straight forward logic. So? logically those NOT honoring the Son even as they honor the Father are clearly following the Spirit of Anti-Christ.

  • @GenerationY1000 could you elaberate on this some more-I remember him saying together with but distinctly independent of-which to me is ok, because I as a triniatrian would agree that the word(son) was together with the God(Father) and was distinsctly independent of his person. Educate me on this further if you would please.

  • @42cody1 Well you are right that is how he defines the word προσ in the greek. Although that is not how most scholars or researchers define it. I would recommend starting by reading Jesus Christ IS God a counter to VPWs book written in the early 1980s. IN his books and others give a meaning of being face to face or in physical presence with. VPW is trying to get away from that idea. He does this also by other means of changing the definition of the word λόγοσ logos 3 times in that verse.

  • @GenerationY1000 I didnt know there was such a book, who authors it? face to face I have heard, Doctor Walter Martin has said as such in his discussion with the oneness pentecostal view-which is here on youtube. Yes, I remember the change up on the logos in Jn 1. What I have noticed the Way Int is quick to share but never quick to listen. PM me and share more if you like would love to hear more about the logos portion. Thanks brother.

  • I love this~ too bad they ended ROA!! I never got to go as a teen or adult! (I'm 24)

  • This video brings back fond memories of my time in The Way Ministry. Despite all the controversy of doctrine, the accusations against the founder and other leadership; I saw was a genuine love of God and his Word, a sense of community and love for one another. The WOW festival reminded me of a Christian version of Woodstock, where love abounded, the music was great and the WOW burgers filled my tummy, lol! Those were good times for a young man in his early twenties, just trying to live life.

  • I'm not interested in public debate. So, any of you Way haters out there, save the wear and tear on your fingertips.

  • @huskers12306 I hate the Way, and I hate you too.

  • He still tries to save me and I try to with him over with rational thought.

  • As you can probably tell, my old roomate and I keep in touch.

  • The Way were upfront with me on the public controversies claimed by some on the web. Although I disagree with all Christianity, The Way are not the boogie men as claimed. They are leaving their past in the past and are just as legitimate as any "traditional" church.

  • In the military, all religions who practiced on post that were not affiliated with the military chapel were highly scrutinized. There were Assembly of God, Lutheran and Baptist groups who had more than their share of complaints (I worked at Division level job where I was privy to this information).

  • Although they had fun, these people could back up their beliefs with the bible. I would show them how "traditional" (my backround is Baptist) churches backed their beliefs and I would go further and try to show why the bible and Yahweh fails. They were always respectful and I never heard of a time when anyone felt pressured or harassed by them.

  • The Way were the most down to earth, happy and balanced Christians I've experienced. These people knew how to have a good time.

  • I'm not a Christian, but when I was in the military, I was exposed to the Way through my roomate.

  • It's too bad people like Harry and Cody want to make this site their own personal bitch session.

  • This is some toe tappin music.

  • I believe that God is both Lord and Master. I believe Paul applied an old testament verse about Yahweh and placed it right on Jesus Christ. This would be blasphemous unless Christ was in fact Yahweh Gon in the flesh. I do not think this verse implies that the Lordship of Christ is anything less than calling him Yahweh God himself. The text implies worship toward the Lord being called upon and the Lord in question is Jesus Christ and we wouldnt applly worship to a lord but only to THE LORD.

  • The confession is calling upon Christ as your Lord they should be synonomous, from other scripture references we learn that this is an act of worship. I'm an apologist which I am used to the abuse of this verse, to a Jehovah Witness lord and LORD seperate the Creator from the created. Lordship verses lordship, we wouldnt apply worship to a lord but we would to the Lord, the Lord is directly implied in this passage because it is in the context of worship. Lord God of course is our master..

  • @42cody1 - Does this mean you consider Rom 10:9-10 an affirmation of BOTH Jesus as master & literal Deity/God? I keep up a lot to 'cults'- Mormonism the most, but TWI, the ICOC & now Kip McKean's new ICC (Int'l Christain Churches), JWs, etc. I've had experiences in LDS. TWI & ICOC the most on a personal level.

  • @harry4health I believe Paul in this passage identified Christ as Yahweh God himself. I dont have a problem with God being both Lord =God and Master, now am I saying the verse carries with it a double meaning? I like the church scholars take this verse to be identifying Christ as Yahweh. I think my posts have been clear. I am thinking that you are saying the verse just means lord/master, but in its context its denoting worship and identity towards Christ as being the saving Yahweh of joel 2:32.

  • @harry4health lord/master can imply both towards beings within the created realm or it can also refer to God Almighty. Since the context of the passage is within the framwork of invoking, adoring, and worshiping Christ as the saving Yahweh of Joel 2:32 then lord/master logically would mean LORD/MASTER in the sense that Jesus is Yahweh God our Lord/Master-because its in the context of Worpship and Yahweh identification toward Jesus Christ. This is as clear as I can answer the question.

  • @harry4health So the term Lord in this passage according to Strongs means lord/master the context around the term implies that it is God because its within the context of true worship and Yahweh identification. Now if the context did not pull from an old testament text about Yahweh nor implied any true worship then I would lean to the fact that lord/master as referring to someone of a lesser degree than God, the context instead places true worship toward Christ and Yahweh indentifcation.

  • @harry4health Harry sorry if I over posted just am trying to clarify specifically. Lord in this passage means lord/master, but the surrounding context implies that worship and deity is implied to this lord/master so logically lord/master through context arrangement means that the person in question "Christ" is LORD/MASTER. The context determines if lord/master=LORD/MASTER. Context as you already know determines how the word Kyrios is to be imployed. Not saying that the word by itself ='s Deity.

  • @42cody1 - Actually, you make a good case. I think it makes sense thjat "lord" in Rom 10:9 means BOTH Lord/master & God/Deity, esp. with Paul quoting Joel 2:32.

    Good study!

  • @harry4health Thank you my brother in Christ.

  • Its logical that Paul wouldnt be leading his audience into establishing Christ lordship as opposed to LORDship because its in the context of worhip. Calling upon Jesus' Name is exactly why he persecuted the church for in the first place as stated by Ananias in Acts 9:14, the early church was invoking, adoring, and worship Jesus as Yahweh and this brought persecution against them.Acts 9:14, Paul would not lead his followers into an indirect worship of Christ doesnt make sense LORDship most logicl

  • @42cody1 - Are you saying Jesus as Lord/master is not in Rom 10 at all, or is it established inherently because confessing/calling upon the name of the LORD (Rom 10 w/Joel 2:22) IS receiving him as BOTH master & God/Yahweh? Receiving him (Jn 1:12) as LORD/Yahweh=God, and master.

  • @harry4health I dont think I am answering you -what I mean is that Paul applying an old testament text about Yahweh God and placing it on Jesus was a point of clarifying Christ identity as God and yes our Lord and Master, but not a master in sense that places Christ on an equal level as any other man but on an equal level as God. It is in the context of worship. Paul as you know did the same thing in Phil 2:10-11 cf Isaiah 45:23. I can see what you are saying, Col 2:9 would be more direct.

  • I did however go to the Rock of Ages in 1992, took PFAL in 87, the Advanced Class, christian family sex class. Did have a good time at the Rock.

  • Revelation 1:17 Jesus speaking "I am the First and the Last" this has in its possess an article in the Greek as it is followed by the word "the" in English, this is significant because it clarifies the true meaning of this term which means "The Eternal One" pg 554 Thayers Greek English Lexicon. The only other person called this is the LORD GOD in Isaiah 44:6, thus calling Jesus Lord for salvation means that he is the Lord God. So his Lordship = being called YAHWEH GOD. Lord God, First and last.

  • when I was young and started studying with The Way Ministry my Dad thought I was nuts for believing the Bible the way I did, the absolute Word of God. Now, my Dad is a Pastor in the Church and is so blessed that I know and live the Word of God. I am bless and I Prove God Daily: Malachi 3:10, 11 & Psalm 34: 8,9

  • @GuroDon - TWI does say the Bible is the word of God, but also has doctrines & practices and details that are false in doctrinal and behavioral ways. They also teach that Matt 28:18-19's baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit is corrupted & originally said "in the name of Jesus". This is wrong. There are more important things they greatly err in. Please check out the links in my first post below. Take care.

  • @harry4health The historical book of Acts shows what the original Disciples and Apostles did. They only used the name of Jesus and never the 'trinitarian' formula. Earliest writings of the 'Church Fathers' such as Eusebius, Aphraates, Justin, Origin, etc., show that the original scripture was "in my name", the perfect match for the context where Jesus is talking in first person before and after such statement. To all honest seekers, search: "Go ye, and make disciples of all nations in my name''.

  • @christianbornagain Walter Martin covered in depth just this topic which can be seen on youtube, its like 27 segments the subject is covered in the later segments, i believe around the 27th one, or just before it. It is called United pentecostals verses Christianity. It was a wonderful discussion. All the Greek manuscripts that exist according to my knowledge have Baptizing them in the Name of the Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit, since Jesus name means Yahweh saves he carrys Gods name. all3

  • @christianbornagain

That is simply not true. Majority and earliest Greek texts show "Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" in Matthew 28:19. There is a reason why it is in 99.9% (if not all), Bible translations. NIV, ESV, KJV, NKJV, NASB, ETC. ETC. ETC. all contain "Father, Son, Holy Spirit". You are misinformed here. And btw the Bible goes even farther and calls all 3 persons God! The Father is God (Exodus 6:3), The Son is God (John 1:1, Matthew 1:23), The Holy Spirit is God (Acts 5:3-4). Cont..

  • @christianbornagain

Therfore you have a triune Godhead or "Trinity". 3 separate persons, ONE God! This is what the Bible teaches! Praise God!!! Father, Son, and Holy Spirit forever and ever!!! Bye

  • @christianbornagain -Matt 28 & Acts isn't a ritual formula: name=authority

ALL GREEK manuscripts have Father, Son & the Holy Spirit. U use church father's versions to correct the Greek. That's backwards. Shows UR real belief on Bible as final authority. Actually, Didache (growing view it's from ca 110AD), Ignatius of Antioch (ca. AD. 107-112), Irenaeus (ca. 130-200), Tertullian (ca. 160-220) & Victorinus (ca. 270-303) ALL use the Matt 28 formula:

  • @GuroDon as a former member in TWI, The absolute word of God teaches that Christ is eternal and that he is God. Micah 5:2, Col 2:9, Rev 1:17 that he received worship-Jn 20:28 and created the heavens and the earth-Hebrews 1:10-12 as an active role-Hebrews 1:2 He is identified as Yahweh God Jn8:58 - and as sharing Glory with the Father. Jn 17:5. Where were these verse covered in twig? The fact is that TWI denies all these facts about Christ Identity -thus in reality they missed the abolute word.

  • I went to the Rock of Ages I believe back in 1992, I -there were many people there what a witnessing field that could have been for me at that time had I known it.

  • Wow. Talk about a blast from the past. I was a Way baby. Born in 75'. Mom and dad took us to Rock of Ages every year even after going WOW. I grew up listening to Pressed Down and Joyful Noise every day. Wonderful memories.

  • I am reading some of the negative posts about Dr VP Weirwille, but I am choosing to remember the good that happened in my life because of the good that he did for us. He saved my life and many many more, and his teachings continue to live on to this day and bless so many others.

  • Also the tapes in the early 80s by The Victors (remember them), with songs like "Im Building a Bridge". Other artists I cant remeber the names but the tapes were called like "Ready for Anything" with songs like Military Man and "Many Ways", I think thats the name of the tape actually. And some group I cannot remember for the life of me but they sang a song called "Superstar" and "Eternal Life". around 1985-86 .Beautiful song . If you have any of this, please, post it. God Bless

  • Im 37. So I still remember these songs when I was kid and growing up in The Way. The ministry has withstood alot in these changing times. But this is gold my friend. Do you have the Joyful Noise album by any chance? I have been looking everywhere to find those songs. Has Claudette Royal singing some great tunes and Joyful Noise. Song like "I've been born again" i believe thats the title or "Born Again" ha I just know the lyrics but forgot the exact titles of the songs. .

  • WOW ambassador 79-80 Rock of Ages I also sang with Body Soul and Spirit. It was fun and I learned much, about the Bible, about people, about religious leaders. I have to admit I met some pretty wonderful people, and my skills for speaking to others with confidence, peace and love is what I took from the whole experience. I am a spiritual person but I look at religion in a different light. I trust myself, my beliefs, and want to be the voice of logic and clarity for those who ask.

  • This is truly awesome. My mom went to the Rock 2 years I think. I have always wanted to see what it was like!!! I can't wait for my chance to meet V.P.W. at the return!!!! Thanks so much for posting this. It's wonderful. You are God's brightest!!!

  • Where was this the Shelby fair grounds? Sheesh I can't believe I used to follow this group. LOL VP with a mustache.

  • I love Dr Weirwill. Thank you for teaching me Victor. You were a prophet.

  • i wish i could go to that music fest... rachel is an awesome believer. how exciting!!!

  • @BummedOutCity101

You can see and hear some of the events that took place in that great Music Festival at texashouseholdmusic

  • @Improvifunk

If you say so, that means you had sex with him then! How can you say that? Do you have any proof but people's saying to hurt? BTW please he's got a name and it's Mr before.

  • The comments made regarding this video are disgusting, since Wierwille is a known sexual predator. Wake up! You're still in a cult.

  • I was there I think 77 and 78 I was just a kid I remember the tents tractor rides. I met Victor Paul Wierwille and saw the window that he saw the first snow flake good times. Brings back memories.

  • Dr. Victor Weirwille was a man who rightly divided God's Word. More so than I have seen in most of "christianity". His books and classes on abundant living through the rightly divided word of God are more in depth and contextually accurate than most other studies and/or teachings that you will find on television or mainstream christianity today. God bless all those within the body of Christ. God Bless in the name of our glorious savior Jesus Christ.

  • He sure was, amen to that.

I miss him and look forward to seeing him at the Return. Doing my best to carry on the work he started in me by the grace of God.

  • Even if you have 10,000 tutors in Christ, yet you have not many fathers, for IN Christ Jesus I begot you through the gospel.

    R.I.P. V.P.W

  • I too thank God for this ministry and for teaching me the keys to the Word's interpretation. It was an imperfect ministry made up of imperfect people. How unusual is that?!! Thank you Jesus for your grace and mercy.

  • A new Music Fest is Coming on 2010! watch?v=cxR7EumdGMU

Sal Arico, Gene Meldrum, Scott Powell, Rachel Barbera and many, many more will be there! If you are free, young at heart and independent of any religious or 'ministerial' bondage, go, Go, GO!

  • I am 23 years old, and have been fed the cult of college for almost 4 years at the University of California, but the most freeing thing ever has been the light of God's Word. So truly, let your light shine brighter now. Amen.

  • @JSeedUCSD Hey i know you! hahahaha!!!!!!! Love you brother!!!

  • By no means am I comparing, nor defending, any organized religions. You state the Way is no more of a cult than the others, but I insist through thorough "prep courses" and behavioral modification, they employ techniques most others need not.

  • I always liked this song. I went to the Rock from 1980 through 1987. I'm thankful for the love of the Word that I learned in that ministry and for those who loved me with the love of God, and wittnessed to me. I am not longer with them, due to c hoice of a difference in my beliefs of some of the things the Word teaches. But I also do not go to any churches for the same reason. But am every thankful for the introduction I received to God's Wonderful Written Word, my first love.

  • This is no more of a cult, than the Catholics or Baptists, and basically teaches a lot of the same theology, with just a name change here and there. I'm not with them any more, but believe me they are the same as any other organized church. Even home fellowships can become controling and churchy. But I never have experienced the love of God like I did with many of those in this ministry.

  • @HappyShaitan

It was NOT VPW's intention at all. What other people with hardened hearts and superegos did was not motives...

  • Thanks for posting this stuff!!

Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille is the man who learned scripture though not directly but through the years of study is that today I can understand and comprehend the Scriptures.

    Thank you! again

    Greetings!

  • Victor Wierwille was a narcissistic, heartless, predatory sociopath. He used thought control techniques to convince thousands of people that he was the first apostle since the first century church. Then, he used this status to demand absolute devotion to the "Word" he taught and the "Ministry" he founded. He demanded 10% of the followers pay so he could expand his organization and build his collection of motorcycles, planes, and "campuses." He hurt a lot of people.

  • What about the innumerable brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ that were born again (including me) thanks to the devotion of genuine and humble hard working members of such a ministry? What about our beloved singers such as Joe Fair, Sal Arico, L. Tracy...? What about fulfilling the send me to speak the Word of God (a good ol ambassador got me to love & to enjoy the Bible)? What about the good leadership? What of the heavenly communion among brethren? What about the witnessing to every one?

  • You are focused and troubled by the janitor (at the 1,000 years of the kingdom of Christ, if all those wretched claims turn out to be true); however, you are forgetting the eternity and how it is that we all, born again believers, are going to get even at the Bema, hopefully well see you there, and then we'll talk and raise our claims against some of those fanatical, unloving, rigorous and nasty leaders hurtful to us that stemmed, not only from that ministry, but from all over Christianity.

  • christianbornagain, They did have some GOOD music & I went to Twigs, a state meeting, took ORIGINAL PFAL w/VPW teaching, but can't endorse TWI or VPW, unfortunately:

    Evidence Weirwille plagiarized:

    1) "WIERWILLE BORROWS: A Challenge to the Originality of His Teaching on "Receiving the Holy Spirit""

    precastconcrete*org/~messiah7/vp_stiles*htm

    2) "ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WIERWILLE'S PLAGIARISM"

    precastconcrete*org/~messiah7/vp_plagstil8*htm

    Other reasons, too.

  • glad you had a good time.

  • @christianbornagain Don't argue about this stuff. Just call it what it is, bull shite. Let the fellowship of bitterness have their little pity party. The truth is that they cannot stand to realize that THEY based their love for God on a ministry, and not because God is so good. Remember what Dr. said about pointing fingers and how many point back at yourself? It applies here.

  • @christianbornagain Let me ask you and I am sure you will agree that acording to scripture to confess Christ as Lord is part of the born again process? Calling Christ Lord what does that mean? is he among the many lords as in just an important man? or does calling him Lord mean he is Lord God? Our choices are LORD or lord. Lord meaning Lord God Yahweh or just lord-another important man. Which of these brought you into being born again?

  • @42cody1 Romans 10:9-10 declares that you are saved if you confess that Jesus is Lord, not if you confess that Jesus is God and it doesn't say that he is lord aside many other lords. So, if you do not want to believe that Jesus is your brother, the only bridge between God and men, your advocate, the example to follow, who declared that we can do what he did and more, if we believe, that's your choice. Do not alter the Scriptures in an attempt to push whatever it is you believe.

  • @christianbornagain Actually sir,Paul was quoting an old testament passage from Joel 2:32 about calling upon the Lord which was Yahweh, Paul used his old testament knowledge and quoted the same passage but then applied it to Jesus Christ in Romans 10:9-13. Thus by doing this he either equated Jesus as Yahweh or committed blasphemy in the passage. In fact The term call upon means to invoke, adore, and worship pg 239 Thayers Greek English Lexicon Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32, Acts 9:14.

  • @christianbornagain So it was not actually altering scriptures it was taking as Paul did a knowledge of the old testament and the new testament to bring into view exactly what type of Lordship that was being applied to Jesus Christ, thus in this passage Jesus is equated as Lord=Yahweh=God, this is what Paul was alluging to by applying Joel 2:32 to Jesus Christ -That Jesus is Lord and that we are to invoke, adore, and worship him as such. Why because he is THE ETERNAL ONE. Rev 1:17 cf Is 44:6

  • @christianbornagain so not to over kill the subject, if we do not confess Christ as Lord=Yahweh=God then we miss out on the born again new birth process, this is why Paul felt so strongly to quote Joel 2:32 and apply it to Jesus Christ in Romans 10:13 as any scholar would admit to. So Paul quoted a passage about the Lord God in Joel 2:32 and equated Jesus as this Lord in Romans 10:13, why because Jesus is "The First and the Last Rev 1:17 which is the Eternal One Yahweh God Is 44:6

  • @42cody1 - Remember, after Rom 10:9-10 in literal Greek "confess ..Jesus as Lord" the end quotes an Old testament passage that says whoever CALLS ON the name of the LORD/Yahweh=God will be saved. Rom 10:9-10 seems to teach lordship, but also Deity in an indirect way

  • @harry4health The term call upon the name of the Lord as posted below and in the context of Romans 10:9-13 means to invoke, adore , and worship, so the context is worship so logically the Lordship of Christ is being mentioned especially when we have Paul quoting an old testament text about Yahweh and applying it towards Jesus which would be blaspehmous unless that he is directly demanding that Jesus is Yahweh. Paul many times refers to old testament text for Yahweh and applies them to Jesus.

  • @harry4health The context of confess Jesus as Lord in Romans 19:9-13 should be handled as a whole, for to confess Jesus as Lord was also to call upon him, Jesus is Lord over verses 9-13 so in context calling upon the name of the Lord is in context with our confession of Jesus as Lord. The Jehovah Witnesses and other cults tend to seperate these two when the context shows that Christ is the subject of confession-which is calling upon Jesus=Yahweh.Jesus is here equated as he isin other pauline txt

America is facing challenges which will likely rock the whole world and have an effect on every man, woman, and child on the face of the earth. Do not put your light under a bushel basket..." & "Einstein said "God does not place dice with the universe". When are these "men of science" who believe things happened by evolution and the big bang (by a roll of a dice) going to catch on to what a real scientist had to say?"
