  • This came from the Keensburg mine off of the old NYC Egyptian Line south of Mount Carmel, IL and was headed for LG&E's power plant in Louisville, KY. I was at the depot in Princeton which is off of Broadway street (Highway 64). It is a great place to railfan since you are not on railroad property and there is plenty of parking.

  • From what mine did the coal come from and where is it headed on NS?What street is this off of in Princeton?

  • I'm in Princeton quite a bit & I haven't seen 1 of these in a while. I think they may of set it up now where if they think this is gonna happen they'll stop them outside of town to prevent crossing blockage...I really love when this does happen though...the people get really angered & beat on their horn...lol...anyways, nice video...awesome catch.

  • @NorfolkSouthern8979 Thanks for your comment.. Yes they are supposed to wait outside of town but what happens sometimes is a slow moving train will get in the circuit and then only has 8 minutes to get to the diamond, else it will drop on him and let the oher train go. CSX wanted to make it joint double track with NS but NS would not relinquish control of the crossing to CSX (they knew they would get screwed I'm sure). Princeton is a great railfanning town for sure.

  • awesome catch nice horn on that NS engine
