use basic compressor in Cubase and what you get is the same as every plugin... They are all the same - only different view. Some have more knobs. At first you must know why use compresor and how. Some people say HW is good, SW is shit. But i think, they only can not use SW plugins (right set). All is only bussines... sry for my english
so the Puig is named after the engineer Joe Puig who does the mxing and mastering for damn near everyone in the industry, and the UA is another "Fairchild" compressor emulator. I heard the 670 on youtube and i believe the analog tube design was just suoperior. These both sound good...that "color" is missing in both...
Really it's just volume difference. Compression eliminates the differences between the low volume and high volume areas and leaves everything someplace in the middle.

Let's see.... I picked up the iLok asset for the UAD on eBay for about $50. How much ya think that Waves plug will set you back?
Both of these compressors sound great and Waves can kiss my $3500 ass.
