they are amazing trains - when you are on them it feels so smooth it's as if you are stationary, but then you look out the window and everything seems to be rushing by at 200mph not just 125 mph. the speed seems phenomenal. i can't imagine what the outside must look like travelling on one of the french or german inter-citys which go at about 200mph or higher.

@gardenchair Yup virgin if they win the west coast franchise in April 2012 are also hoping to run pendos at 135 or 140mph on some stretches of the wcml so imagine that the pendolinos will also all be extended to 11 cars per train and there are 4 new pendolinos on order due to run in 2011-2012 April although 1 may go to east coast hope not though
