Ah, those big leaps are killer! You've just got to drill those things really slow over and over till you can do it fast.
I'd have to agree that the middle section doesn't have enough feeling in it. It's not timing, but dynamics. My sheet music begins that section as piano, and it's played here as more of a mezzoforte or forte, which, in my opinion, is the opposite of what it should be. Just my thoughts.
The timing is unusual, but I wouldn't call it bad. Every nation and every generation must reinterpret things, or there'd be no progress.
Think of the orginal source - flamenco dances on guitar, heard by Albéniz growing up. There were no set details. Albéniz just tried to capture that in written form, but there's no rule against interpreting it back to its roots, or forward to something more modern.
Just make sure when you play the forte chords that the left and right hands do not play at the same time! The left hand happens on the first semiquaver beat of the bar, and the right hand on the second semiquaver of the bar (ie. a semiquaver after the left).
Also just make sure that the chords are completely accurate!
Thank you, just tell you that there are two versions of this piece in piano, one with the chords at the same time and another with the chords at different times. Alicia de la Rocha plays the two differents versions, and I think is the best person who plays this song.
Like many others said, it's great to see someone playing this with the right tempo in mind, not too fast and not too slow. Correctly in the parts needed. Good job!!

not bad at all. but try to play the right hand more smoothly and with less weight.
and i don't like the solw part, it's too fast for me. maybe try to interpret it a bit more, more feeling...
but good job! continue!
maggieclt 3 years ago
well done, some accords are a bit too fast, however, the bad quality might make it worse as well...
Anyway, sometimes claviers are not pressed smoothly enough, I believe that this piece is to be played smoothly, and timing could be better.
Good job! :)

Good attempt though, genuinely.
