  • can't believe this is the same guy that had an epic violin battle against karen briggs in the concert of yanni in the acropolis. So he is composer, director, plays violin and piano, what other instrument does he play you people know?

  • @mikeborja1

Yes, the awesome Maestro Rohani is a composer, conductor and arranger. Besides the piano and violin he plays accordian, bandoneon, guitar, percussion, tar and kamancheh. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he is accomplished at more instruments then what is listed here. He is absolutely amazing.

  • wow

  • Touches my heart, the beauty of music. Watch my version everyone.

  • Simply BEAUTIFUL.

    Thank you

  • echt cool, danke wir sind stolz auf ihn.

    زنده باد

  • 3:)

  • maroufi was rohani's mentor...he did a good job training the next generation of persian musical genius indeed...oh! this piece is so nostalgic....it takes me back to iran...i'm gonna cry again...oh well...

  • I know! I miss Iran so much and

    Persian music has no comparison.

    BTW: are you shahrzad?

  • Lovely melody and great performance. Thank You!

  • I like the piano version better. Piano is a perfect instrument itself however this performance is amazing as well.

  • yay! I'm a pianist or a pianist wanna be or a pianist in training!

  • nothing is missing from the piano version here, the orchestra is added to make it more dynamic

  • Well daaa, I didn't say something was missing, I just like the plain piano.

  • LOL...alright, everybody has an opinion

  • پیوسته دلت شاد و لبت خندان باد

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing this great video :)

  • Magnificant

  • Perhaps the most "significant" composition in the history of Persian Classic Piano.... Ostad Maroufi was a True-Genius!

  • in a piano concerto the pianist doesn't have to play all the time. but happy to see them again.

  • Nice Job :-D

  • bravo

  • i have been to his concert in tehran, he is briliant

  • BSYAR ZIBA

    BA 2EFTEKHARE IR

  • Again we see iranians on top.

  • this is a silly remark - why do we have to read this under a music clip which promotes internationalism and multiculturalism?

Were Beethoven, Mozart, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Bach, Chopin or the other brilliant musicians and composers of the world Iranian? Yes, some were. Iranians have quality stuff, but so do other nations and cultures. No one is on-top. All are unique and distinct and beautiful in their own way.

  • once again we see iranians on top... just kidding :)

I think your comment was brilliant!

  • And I think your comment was funny ;) in a good way of course :)

  • many scales come from persian, major, dorian, phrygian, minor harmonics, and many other scales unknown and with these scales europeans could compose, Piano came from persian santour, guitar from persian tar, and also other instrument:))

after we persian will fuck islam in our country after 1400 years the persian empire will rise up again:))

  • Yeah it is true :-)

  • @Catz007 I Salute you with warmest regards in every way, i could not have said it any better myself~

  • that's really brilliant

  • Long long motifs repeating after each other, makes this music very boring. exactly 4 times!!!

  • Your understanding of music is way too "intellectualized" with "structure" and as you say "motifs" to realize the true beauty of a masterpiece...

  • Maroufi's "Jila" will forever remain as the most beloved and influential masterpieces of the Persian classical piano... Shahrdad Rohani performed did it masterfully!!!

    RIP Ostad Javad Maroufi

  • The title of this video should've been: The tale of the two masters (Maroufi & Rohani)... Shahrdad's interpretation of Maroufi's Jila was a phenomenal expression of pure Genius!!! I wish it could've lasted forever..................

  • Watching a master at work... Brilliant!

  • Maroufi's Jilla, and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, have always been two my favorites of all time...Shardad Rohani did an amazing job playing it! Thank you for posting such an incredible masterpiece.

  • Shardad is the most eminent and revered musician this modern day. His arrangements of everything and anything are so euphonic. He is a topnotch pianist, violinist, conductor and performer, extremely unmatched. Hats off to this multi-talented musician. This arrangement of Jila is extraordinary. Love it!!!

  • Besyar zibast.mer30.

  • Beautiful, love Maroufi! Thanks!
