He says in effect that one out of two smokers will die from smoking tobacco. That leaves the other one which continues to smoke, but what he don't say is how that person's life is affected by tobacco. They will always live their life being cheated out of the good health they would have had, had they not smoked tobacco. He doesn't mention the fires started by cigarettes, nor the lack of friends who don't like to be around smoke, and so many other effects from smoking.

@jebes909090 Because that is the reality and many people don't want to hear it but it's true. The main reason why tobacco still enjoys the legal status it has is because the tobacco industry is a multi-billion dollar industry and a significant proportion of the population smokes.

The reason weed is not legal is because if you make it legal it will become an industry. If it becomes an industry you can't remove it so easily - it becomes powerful. Much like tobacco. It's an industry now. You can't make it illegal because you will cause suck a big blow on the economy that the big depression would look like a baby in comparison. That's why weed is not legal. It's a good method - keep it illegal (no industry) but make the penalty for possession small.

i started smoking when i was 11, due to being with older people and thought it was cool , i smoked on average 5-10 a day until i was 14. from then on i had like 1 every month.

i am now 16 and haven't had one for the last 7 months, to be honest i actually did like smoking but i quit due to the cost, but i can say i quit very easily.

i believe i never actually was addicted, even though i had done it so regularly etc, i don't have an addictive personality

@Filmshite the cigarette companies probably have partnerships with many other medical companies. the worse u become from smoking, the more care u will need, thus the more drugs and medicines u take. that's just my theory. They're also probably used to help control the population. Why else would someone put rat poison in cigarettes? illigal drugs i believe are secretly government regulated. they know they can make a fortune if there is not much competition. it's never been about the health issues

agreed id say the first 20 you smoke is pure disgusting if not more than that. its something you gotta grow into, i learned to like it but have never gone over 5 a day, and havent touched a cig in prolly 2 months without out any sort of craving withdrawals or w/e.i was the definition of a social smoker and would only do it if everyone around me was doing it. but since i stopped hanging out with those people i have not even thought about smoking. minus weed =)
