I'm not exactly sure what he's saying.

Is he saying to speak your mind, therefore you are telling the truth? or to tell the truth nicely? or what? Because I'm pretty confused and I'm not exactly used to listening to Ram Dass, but I'm interested. Someone please reply.

@wbiggjay I think what he means to say is to have the "capacity" to tell the truth when it's required, as opposed to just "imposing" the truth on people who choose to remain in untruth. This way, you know the truth for what it is without having the psychological need to get an ego boost out of knocking the truth on someone's head. You just become this "allowing space" in which someone can come and discuss the truth if s/he so chooses, but otherwise you remain in your own quiet corner.
