I am 41 and I remember my dad talking about the 1950's and what a fun time it was (Minus children having to practice hiding under their desk because of Nuclear fallout) but, I remember how he explained the good times as I pictured it in my head. He is long gone now and I wonder what he would think of the world today
what a beautiful, beautiful song. how could you not want to dance with the girl you love to this powerful emotional song. you had to be there (the 50's) to know what I'm talking about, and those of you who were there know exactly what I'm talking about!!!!!
One of the All Time Greats --- Timeless -- Can this one be appreciated (duplicated) by the newest generation? Milsap is / has been one of my favorite vocalists. Legendary!
As a disc jockey I always felt that Ronnie Milsap and Steve Winwood were very similar with their style of music, "While You See A Chance" is the perfect follow up to this tune.
I don't know if you will find this cut when searching for music. It wasn't one of "our" songs when we were "together" from late 1966 to early '71. The words make me think of you 42 years after we fell in love. The past year reconnecting with you has been wonderful (if troubling). Maybe it is the reason we avoided one aother when we were so close. Then chance happened a year ago last month. We both know the mistakes we made in '67 and '70. Too bad our paths still can't meet. Luv you dear!
I hope your friend finds thse songs you love. I have seen your posts on other songs, even some songs that have been removed. It sounds like you have never forgotten her and probably still love her. Does she know it? Have you told her? I get the impression maybe one or both of you isn't able to allow the romance to rekindle. God luck. Don't let the love die. Keep listening to the music. These days romance has died and relationships seldom last 42 years even in memories.
This song brings back mighty fine memories of the 50's. When cars were cars and it cost $5.00 to fill up your car. The music of that time was wonderful and NO RAP MUSIC! Can you remember back that far? If you can, you were born in a better more kinder time. Bless you Ronnie Milsap!
I can't remember back that far but trust me, I wish I could!! I WAS however brought up on the music. I love all the 50's music( The Letterman, Paul Anka, Brenda Lee, Brian Hyman, Sonny James, etc.). I LOVE Ronnie as well!! He is one of the most talented musicians. OH and I HATE rap music!! lol
Well Rap is really a different beat of country Music. Also pointing out the problems or heart break in life. But many of the song's now are just kids making money. If it's there can ya blame them.. White producer's won't spend the money or you could see many new country star's. But what we got was fast country almost rocky belly. excused, But plainly is lost. The heart is gone. What a shame.
