  • best cover of a depeche mode iv ever heard for a while.

  • i love this version,just love it

  • I'm a huge depeche mode fan and I love this cover.

  • i cant tell if i like this or the original better

  • its called "Snow Metal"

  • The chorus totally sucks, sounds funny, lol

  • What do you call this metal sub genre? Black, Doom, Norwegian Metal?

    Pretty Cool Cover btw!!

  • @Zhorellski You could call it symphonic metal.

  • @Alkuteos Or Power Metal. Two of the four come from power metal bands (and Nightwish aren't a million miles from power metal either), although Symphonic Metal definitely works too.

  • @GwresYnKernow Well Sonata Arctica isn't actually power metal (if that is what you ment), more like melodic metal. I'd say Teräsbetoni is the only band of these four that could be called power metal. But it's really not necessary for us to be that overparticular, so people can call Sonata Arctica power metal because it's quite close to it.

  • @GwresYnKernow And if I'm not wrong, I think Tony Kakko has said himself that Sonata is melodic metal. Though I'm not completely sure if he have said so or not.

  • @Alkuteos True enough I suppose, though I consider them part of power metal, because I grew up listening to them at the same time as Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Helloween, Dream Evill, etc. So they always seemed to fit in the same group. But I suppose, listening to their actual music by itself, they're not really "true" power metal, no...

  • @Zhorellski It's called "Snow Metal"

  • @Zhorellski Actually Power Metal or Speed Metal is what I heard mostly for this genre.

  • @Zhorellski Orchestral Power Metal

  • Why in this photo Tony seems a psichopatic serial-killer? XD

Great song and great metal cover! I love them!

  • @LalyLaStronza he is your Dream Theif!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • This is a cover song from Depeche Mode.

  • I think its worthy...

  • Awesome song, from awesome band. But I really need to say: Marco's actual band is Tarot, Nightwish is only one of his many "sideprojekts". But don't nail me to floor because of saying this...

  • this is a good cover

  • semplicemente stupendo!!

  • lacking in so much of the energy you cant hide be behide your heavy music

  • no guts to make own song ?

  • @afreak007

They all do. Search. That´s internet is made for. +I love them all, Sonata Arctica most.

  • J. Ahola is the best one from this band

  • This is my least favorite DM song, and my favorite NK song...i'm so confused!

  • @psyatika dude, this is my FAVOURITE DM song

  • lol waynegacy666's beyond a dumbass level.

  • Well hello, let me just wipe up your *opinion* from where you vomited it all over my shoes. They're not covering these songs because they want to "improve upon pop garbage" they're covering them BECAUSE they are popular, and enjoyed by many people. Genius.

  • Wow. Pointing out that my opinion is an opinion must have been really hard on you. How long did it take you to figure that one out? Must of hurt yourself coming up with that one. Other than that I'm not going to comment on your strawman arguments. If you're gonna quote me, do so. Don't make random shit up and attribute it to me.

  • Hmm, weird, I see all this text from you but all I'm getting out of it is "I have no valid comeback".

  • A comeback to what? A misrepresentation of my opinion? What is there to argue or refute when what you said has absolutely nothing to do with my post.

  • Now all I hear are violins.

  • I hear auditory hallucinations are the most common type and are a precursor to a diagnosis of schizophrenia.

  • They actually are, yes.

  • Depeche Mode pop garbage? Ok, now wake up...

  • old pop music is still pop music.

  • but not pop garbage...

  • fuck you he didn't do this one

    he just sings it

  • personally i like his version too

  • If you don't like it, don't watch it...it could be so simple...

  • tony x3 he is the best!

  • This shows..right here!!.. that Vocalists make the band, like they ALWAYS have! These four are irreplaceable to their own bands and Northern Kings. All incredible, all finnish, all metal <3

  • It takes a special talent to take a well known song and put one's own signature on it. It now feels like a different song; one that belongs to Northern Kings!

  • einfach genial. ihre stimmen passen perfekt zusammen... sie sollten aber auch mal eigene lieder schreiben anstatt zu covern, das wäre epic..

  • Hmm, I like the verses a lot on this one but the ''straaaaangeluv'' chorus is a bit freaky, yet decent!

  • Tony looks scary on this one...he wants to eat me :(

  • essa porra é só pra zuar né ?

    HAUAHUAHUAHUAHUAHAUH

mas pelo menos fica massa :D

porém eu prefira com o DM ♥

  • i love this band.

Poor Tony Kakko looks extremely cold in that picture though xD I can just see him shivering and saying "brrrr!"

  • Qint: You've seen the music video for Sonata Arctica, Paid in Full right?, now that is cold.

  • wow

    great version!

    I love these guys

    and I love Depeche mode!

  • Cool :).

My favourite band's (Nightwish) singer sing my scnd fav band's music :)

  • At first I was like -.-

But after about 30 seconds I was like :D

    Excellent cover.

  • Depeche Mode rocked 20 years ago, Northern Kings rocks today with the same song.

    Crap... I feel old...

But I'm happy that we have this talented singers here in Finland. :)

  • lucky people in Finland... u have great music... here in the US... we have all this rap and pop crap...

    Marco is Metal

  • yeah, we have tony kakko, marco, ahola... great doods.. i love suomimetal!

  • Finland is Land of Heavy Metal! ( Nightwish, Kalmah, Wintersun, Children of bodom, Ensiferum, Norther Kings, Diablo, Stam1na, Tarot, Charon, Thunderstone, Soulfallen, Mokoma, Korpiklaani, Amoral, teräsbetoni etc...

  • I'm happy to live here in Finland. I think metal is the most popular musicgenre right now, and it isn't rare that people laughs to rappers and specially to those "bimbo" female singers who come from U.S.A. There are too many of them allready and lyrics of the songs witch they are singing are allways about the same subjects like love and all that "I lost my boyfriend and now I'm sad" grab

  • Exactly!! I feel the same way! Nothing is original in the U.S. anymore! Finland is where the gods of metal, and all music, come from!

Rap and Pop are not music ... They're just annoying sounds with repetitive words that no one wants to hear unless they're already brain dead.

  • yeah I am from the USA and I hate the music scene here. The only reprieve I ever get is when bands like Nightwish or Kamelot come on tour out here.

  • youre american and you affirm that?, god!

maybe you have an european heart :P

anyway I have the same point of view

  • I totally have a European heart!! I kind of want to leave this country behind not gonna lie. I was born in the wrong place and time.

  • Talking about USA? I'm with you, I've been wanting to go to Europe for almost 2 years now.

  • We have a music industry here? Only on imports. Hehehehe. I hope NIghtwish tours in my state soon!!

  • I agree bands out of the USA are always fantasticly made but the USA scene is hidden underground because the mainstream scence is taking over.

  • Yeah that pisses me off, all the mainstream media bullshit, its fail...

  • well Kamelot is technically a LA band...but yea they have a very european sound

  • Technically they area Florida band and the singer is from Norway and the Keyboardist is from Germany in point of fact!

  • lol yea..thank god Kahn joined Kamelot. I dont think I would have liked Kamelot without him

  • @GirlWithAnAttitude91

Agreed! Some of the beats from the bimbos are pretty ok, but if you listen to the lyrics... ugh... 10 year olds can say more meaningful shit than that.

I love metal because usually the 5 people playing the music are also the people that WROTE IT. Imagine that! How many people on the top 100 in the USA charts RIGHT NOW can play an instrument well, and wrote the song themselves?

  • @GirlWithAnAttitude91 i'm so glad to know there are places like that in this world, i live in Portugal, so i must say i almost feel like a fish out of water lol people who like "good" music like me are still looked as "the evil one" and "the anti-social" lol but there are some people everywhere in the world and here we are a minority but we stay strong =)

  • @RubasJLeone In here you get those kind of thoughts mainly from the older people. Young people think that "metalists" are just normal and it isn't rare that people wear band t-shirts or just black clothes. In our school we have many kids who use color contact lenses (black, red, electric blue) etc. and that's normal. Be proud that u are diffrent. Hang in there. It's all about who you are and the corage to show it to others no mater what they say

  • @GirlWithAnAttitude91 of course, but i would like to see the dark culture more loved, but what really matters are the ones who love the dak culture, yes you'r right

  • @GirlWithAnAttitude91 I once saw a result of a questionnaire. More % of people in Norway, Finland and Sweden listens to metal than in other countires. In Norway that is over 80%. I WANT TO LIVE IN NORWAY or CZECH REPUBLIC ! Need to get out of Poland ... Dark hole ...

  • I'm from Finland and I know that Finland haves about 20 good bands (I don't mean that the rest suck or somethin' like that)and the rest makes music that sounds everytime the same...

  • def. one of the best comments ever...

    Hail you and hail finland

    from germany..

  • @dumbcow1 your right we do have all of this rap shit stupid spooks black music and now every1's getting into it but hey we can change that. we've got alot of bad ass musicians in America and i am one of em.

  • @dumbcow1 Don't complain Spain is even worse...too much house and shity pop and the worse of all: Reggeton... those people have killed music. Fortunately Finland still produces good music =)

  • @dumbcow1 indeed, i hate american music

  • @dumbcow1 Here in Italy the rock and the metal groups are... Hei, we don't have rock and metal, only pop, and pop, and pop!!

  • @LampusGilak But you've got Rhapsody! D:

  • @eatallpiepods Ah, yes, i forgot them :P We have some other no very famous bands, too. Like Astra and DGM.

Ah, si, li ho dimenticati... Abbiamo anche altre band non molto famose, come gli Astra e i Dgm!

  • @dumbcow1 we also had journey aerosmith and metallica ._.

  • whens this album actaully out ?

cheers for the info if anyone knows it

    \m/

  • It was released 19th of November, atleast here in Finland.

  • Good music, thanks, thanks.

  • Beacause of these Northern Kings CDs I just bought 4 Charon CDs! Finnish music rules the Earth!

  • +++++++++

  • With every track i listen to i get more eager -.-

    futilemusic should be faster ;D

Of I should just move to Finland oO

  • one of the top songs on this album along w/ view to a kill, kiss from a rose, and take on me

  • All aboard the "Northern Kings' train", destination: EPIC MUSIC... lol I'm too hyped about this album :D

  • They put all the original artists to shame! XD

  • they just do the oposit of that.

I think they made a couple of songs even better... take sledgehamer for example. I heard the original version and then heard NK later on and believe me, NK was a lot better.
