I've got the Palm Centro and FOUR identical, original batteries. Three of the batteries only last about 12 hours each. But the fourth one lasts for 3 days. Go figure.
The centro is great. I just got mine a few days ago. The music sound quality is crisp. Alot of ppl complain about the battery life, but I think the battery life is excellent.
Hi, thank you for this great review video. I live in Mexico and I am about to buy this palm, i like it very much but i have a question, is it possible to buy an accesory card or something to have wifi on this device?
@tcuk I got the Palm OS based Treo for productivity and getting things done, not to browse the entertainet, I have no time for that. Why am I on YouTube! I'm out.
i have this phone and the only thing i have to say that the battery doesnt last that long its a great phone i recommend but the things is it doesnt sell for when i got it for my 2 year contract it cost me $120.00. good price its cheap
the centro rocks! I never put mine down, ( i have the green one) i just wish it had a longer battery life, thats the only complaint I have! That and I wish they put out matching bluetooths, finding a green to match is next to impossiable.
i do wish palm released more phones with the palm OS rather than windows mobile. the palm OS has a lot of potential and can still be very usable today. but for some reason they decided to drop it. palm seems to be making a lot of bad decisions lately
i'm quite sure the palm pre's software is called "nova". and that's exactly what i meant in my original comment. that i like the palm OS, it just needs a little updating and it could be still totally usable. the pre's software is for full touch phones. the palm OS is for front facing keyboard phones, which i prefer.
i know it has a keyboard, but i've used both sliding keyboards and phones with exposed keyboards, and from using many of them i just find sliding keyboards to be annoying. oh and u were right about the webOS thing. but anyway, i've been half tempted to get the old palm 680 phone, just cuz i want a phone with the palm OS, but its so old i don't wanna risk it breaking easilly
I am a cell phone salesman. After looking at almost everything, I chose the Palm Centro. It is perfect for my needs. If you need corporate push email get a blackberry, if you are constantly surfing the net, get an iphone, but if you do a little of everything but mostly talk and text, this is the one. It also comes with the palm software MOUNTAIN of programs...many are free. It's more a computer than a phone.
im having problems choosing this or the lg dare.. i already have an itouch, which i use for wifi email, browsing, so web stuff isn't really a huge concern for me.. any advice?
Since 2006 Palm has created loads of Treo variants (680, 700, 750, 755, 500, Centro). They have even put PocketPC on the their PDAs. But they have fucked up because they have not addressed the issues that matter, for example response lag in Treos, useless green button, bugs, quality camera, shit speaker with hiss when keys are pressed, etc. It's like a miniature version of the Vista fuck-up. My Zire 31, with a slower CPU, is faster than the Centro. Go figure.
Price is not the most important thing... for me. I would gladly pay $300 for a Treo that were faster and less buggy. I hate it when products are rushed onto the market, but sadly all companies do that. I am an engineer and I know what it's like: they want us to get things out of the door fast when what we want to do is create quality products but we just can't with such tight time constraints.
Great news: cheap stuff sells! Phone price is not everything, it all depends on the contract that comes with it. BTW, nice touchscreen (sarcasm). I don't like the iphone either btw.
I know this is a old vid and the guy was probably selling centros ;)
But man was he wrong.

How come everybody loves ttheir Palm Centro except for me?
Mine SUCKS. The battery life is terrible, it turns off randomly, and it's not durable at all.
But, I guess it'd be better for business reasons, I have mine for personal.

maybe you should try exchanging it. maybe you got a bad one.
