I prefer to buy Panasonic SDR-H40 camera that can record on the hardrive and SD HC, has only a 42x optical zoom, but has a larger sensor size (1 / 6 ") so the video is better. SDR-S26 has a small sensor size(1 / 8 ")
You grab the video off the camera using an sd card reader or the USB cable provided. Take the video off the SD card and onto your computer then either edit it in a video editing program or upload the raw footage straight to youtube
Is the micophone good? My friends camera's mic sucks ass it only picks up ur voice if u scream. Also when you record footage through the tape it seems to make a noice which only microphones can hear.
Yeahh it is (: It has this microphone inside to were if something is to loud then it'll zoom out so it wont sound all nasty and staticky, but if someones talking very low it'll zoom in to the voice and make it loud (: Me and my friends use it to jam out. and record random things.. :]]
I just bought this Camcorder and it failed already in less than 2 weeks, zoom motor goes out and then out of focus, waited over 2 months for repairs only to have it returned not repaired, same problems. NEVER BUY ANYTHING PANASONIC THEY HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT EVER! GOOGLE THEM YOU WILL SEE! I'M JUST GOING TO BUY A NEW ONE AND SWAPPED OUT THE UNIT AND SWITCH S/N AND RETURN IT FOR A REFUND. FUCK THEM!
hi, how did you get this into a wide screen format? also what are you editing with, did you download a codec? i cant get it widescreen no matter what i do
To get it into 16:9, you need to load it up into some editing software (VideoStudio, APE, VirtualDub, etc) and export it to 960x540 or 640x360 (the camcorder's actual frame size).
This is because the 16:9 MPEG header flag is not set. However, when it IS set (using SDcopy for example), the picture is distorted because the frame size flag is stored as 704x480 (which is incorrect). Hence the squished appearance (loss of aspect ratio of 1.7771 to 1).
You can purchase torch attachments for the camera I think.

the camera records in 16:9 widescreen as standard, you can record in 4:3 but you have to change it in the settings.
