For any English speaking people, I write this how you would write it, to spell it right: Room-pel-steels-ch (like chalk) en ;-) PS: You are welcome Shelly! ;-) Here in the Austria/Germany we write it this way: Rumpestilzchen ;-)
I remember being in the 4th grade back in 1987 in Magnolia ave Elementary school in L.A. W Mrs. Passette, she would show us a short clip every Friday b4 school was over till we watched a whole faerie tale movie in VHS! Seems like ages ago, good memories.
priceless memories ( btw some parts were kinda X-RATED in certain mvovie back then) like the hansel and gretel one.....LOL i was like "ru frekin serious" anyways its been ahwhile since i watched them, but there pretty cool
I writing a dragon ball fairy tale story that takes place 8 years after rumpelstiltskin, and he's the main villian. I thought I'd listen to the story to get a feel of the characters in the fairy tale world.
This is THE MOST unbelievably womderful story...OMG if we could somehow manage to go back in time, to our "former" lives...wow...such beauty and mysterious wonder.
The late Emile Ardolino has directed a lot of popular movies: Dirty Dancing, Sister Act, Three Men and a Little Lady, the filmed stage version of The Nutcracker, and the televised Gypsy with Bette Midler.
This is probably my least favorite Faerie Tale Theatre episode. I just don't care for it very much. The script is not very well written, and the casting is mostly unmemorable. That's just me though. I mean no offense to anyone.
Shelley's introduction here is different from the one on the original Playhouse edition.
All children and some adults could use such stories to escape physical reality and sharpen their imagination to recreate a new reality in their lives.
I wouldn't Marry him,Especially when he locks you up in a room and demands gold.I'd be like you don't love me, all you love is your gold.

Hmm, I think the "Once Upon a Time" version is perhaps my favorite...maybe I'm biased because I luff Robert Carlyle...
Though there is that Herve V. biopic with Peter Dinklage in the works...now THAT would be worth watching...

The king was played by Ned Beatty. The same actor that played Otis in Superman: The Movie ("Yes, Mr. Luth-ORRR!!")
Also did the voice for Lotso huggin' bear in Toy Story 3.

I can hardly believe that Ned Beatty kept his pants on throughout the scene. Guess there were no boys present.

I SAID it was just my opinion. Did you not read my entire comment?
If it makes you feel any better, I will say that I think Villechaize is awesome in this.
