I think that's the point of the song. That no matter what situation your in, there's always something worse. If you were homeless and found food for the day in a dumpster wouldn't that be a blessing? If your village got destroyed by an earthquake and your still alive, regardless of if your hurt or deformed, isn't that still blessed when so many have died?

I don't think those people have any money for cigarettes, beer, cable, etc. You are quite narrow minded. But then again most believers are. Here's a bible quote for you...

Everyone has the same opportunities given by God. If you check into this you will find that the majority of the time people who have no food or shoes, etc have PLENTY of money for cigarettes, beer, netflix, cable, internet service, cell phones and so on. God is good.....all the time.
