I picked up a ghost once. It was down a dark country lane miles from nowhere. He was sitting in the back & his face suddenly contorted into maggot infested flesh. He tried to strangle me so I went home & had a nice egg sandwich & a pot of tea.

I remember one time I was about to get jumped, and this young man came walking down the street, and walked right up to the 3 guys about to jump me and said to them "don't touch him, leave him alone" he said it with authority, the look on their faces was a look of terror. They took off, the man asked me "are you ok" I said yes, I looked to see the guys walking away, when I turned around to thank the man, he was no where to be seen. In a split second he was gone. True story I'll never forget.

Your experience sounds like those of people who have had angelic encounters in times of need. They also describe the "angel" as wearing pristine clothing or clothes that are from different era. Or they aren't right for the season like a sundress on a freezing cold day. It would be interesting to know if the young man, who rescued you, looked unusal in any way. Never the less I am glad for you that he was there.

@cadre500 He didn't say much, except for "Leave him alone" he was telling the mexicans who wanted to fight me to leave, and they sure did leave too in a hurry, he also asked me If I was ok, I looked away for a split second, and he was gone, so smooth. All I remember is that he had on a bright red shirt, and some jeans, and he looked young like a early high school student. The only strange thing was the way he commanded the people to leave, and the way he disappeared. I think he was an angel.

My grandfather gave her a lift and when he looked in the backseat the girl was gone. He said that he never wants to go back there. I would like to see that. However, as time went on she could see I was being sincere and eventually we gave the helmet away to an antique shop. Maybe it was an over fertile child's imagination, I really don't know. But what I can say is the sense of "presence" and seeing that figure disappeared after the helmet went and I haven't experienced anything like that since.

I was so sure there was something or someone in my room. I remember feeling so terrified that I could barely move and kept my head under the sheets until it was well light. I kept on feeling over many months that there was a presence and sometimes thought I could see something in the corner of my eye. This was of an extremely tall figure, glowing white. I was convinced it was the deceased owner of the helmet, but I could never prove it. At first my mum said I was imagining things.

I have my own story to relate. As a child I went with my mother to visit one of her friends in the country here in England. I was left on my own to explore the overgrown garden of the big old house she had just moved into. I was thrilled to find an old World War 2 helmet which my mother's friend said I could keep. The very first night I took it back home I started having dreams of a man in World War 2 uniform standing with is family in old photographs. I also felt a presence in my bedroom.

I was hitchhiking once in Canada and it was too cold to sleep so I went back to the road. I unwrapped a white sheet (gift I bought for a friend) and put it all around me as I was so cold. Five cars went past me and then a truck skidded to a halt. The trucker's face was rather pale and he said that he had stopped to see if I was a ghost. I imagine the 5 others who passed also thought that I was a ghost.

What logic? This isn't just one person who has experianced it? It's came from other people as well. 2-3 people, plus other's. So it's stupid to just ignore it. People have obviously seen and felt thing's. They aren't all nutters. No one drives on a bike down the road and then sees hands wrapped around him and feel's it. There is obviously something going on. We just don't know what it is. So instead of running your mouth, open your mind a bit.

not sure if this is the same one, but my friend's dad picked up a hitchiking lady somewhere in the Cape, inthe 90's. He got suspicous after a while, as their dialogue kept going in circles, as if she didn't want to answer his questions. She eventually asked him for a cigarette, and as he faced her to give her one, she had vanished...! He stopped at a police station, and they confirmed that it's a "local" ghost as they've had numerous people reporting the same story in the past.

There's a story from tiny NORFOLK ISLAND, near Australia - many tourists etc. get a powerful feeling that somebody else is in their car, but once they get past a certain point, the feeling fades - they see nobody though. Many visitors report this, and the locals call it "The Hitchhiker" . Thing is, many people report it first, and only find out afterwards that it's a common thing there.

Mate, im a south african, its a very very well knows story, it really happened. This ghost girl maria, she crashed with her boyfriend shortly before she was set to marry. Its truely sad and there has been all sorts of acounts. My countries people arent the hyped up type to believe anything. This story does have some backbone too it. trust me.
