How ironic was this reunion,G.B. was more than thrilled to be reunited with those guy's. I was the drummer at this time, with a new band in the making that was coming on strong called Buxton/Flynn which included the R&R Hall of Fame guitarist Glen Buxton,a very honest laid back man who liked his Budwieser and rollerdogs, when i asked him about this song,he said it came about as a gag, poking fun at Johnny Rivers song Mountain of love,i laughed and he said it was true.I truly miss G.B. & our band.
Best song from the last good Alice Cooper album. I saw them as a freshman in high school during the Billion Dollar Babies tour with ZZ Top as the opening act. I listen to Coopers radio show but his music went way down hill after Muscle of Love IMO.
@rebelmunro I had the great fortune of drumming behind Glen, who was also a great friend. The opening licks to Schools Out were created by Glen as he sat in a hotel room and the notes are engraved on his head stone which replicates the album cover. He could make his guitar feedback, go on endlessly and effortlessly, just blew me away every time we played it ! I will always remember and miss G.B. R.I.P. Buddy
@52oldschool MAN! Do I envy you! Not just because you played with G.B., But more so that You got to know the Man! Glen was, and still is, my favourite guitar player of all time! (Take THAT!,Clapton, Blackmore, etc.)Thanks so much for replying to my comment! It makes me feel that, in a small way, I myself have a connection to Glen! May He rest in Peace! (or better yet, if there IS an "Afterlife", Rock on with Jimi Hendrix,John Lennon,Keith Moon, John Entwhistle, etc.)
I saw the boys play in Toronto on Dec. 14, 1973 at Maple Leaf Gardens on the Billion Dollar Babies Holiday Tour. That was the top drawer. The boys still sound incredible.
I had it as well. it was actually in a cardboard crate box and I still have the original LP. The finl album of the "original" AC band. What a great time it was !!!!
I dated Mike's brother, David, for 3 yrs & went to Hawaii and Mex. with them. Michael was a really nice guy...I also met Glen Buxton and one of the dudes from 3 Dog Night; we all went 1 night to a punk show at a boxing rink (the venue) in Phoenix; man, was he ever wasted! (Glenn, not Michael.) Spent many a summer day w/Michael and David at Mike's house in Phoenix; their brother Paul is a nice guy too. My brush with fame! MIke's mom made the best wilted spinach salad in the world!
F***in' amazing! Three fifths of my favourite band performing one of their best rockers. Too bad Dennis Dunaway wasn't well enough to participate. It's kinda eerie that GB would pass away just days after this performance. It's almost as if his life was now complete after playing again with his old friends for the first time in many years. As for Neal Smith.....what a drummer (still)!!!
My favorite Glen thing was his interview with Steve Vai . Vai is considered a god now and here he was gushing to Glen about how he knew every song on Love It To Death and how much he loved Glens work. There is Glen beaming away. What a beautiful moment.
I agree, not only is Neal amazing but he is such a nice person. This was not a "garage band ". This was 5 awesomely talented performers. I still love them all 35 years later.
@lemmyrocks Yeah, as i listened to this awesome performance,I actually missed Dennis's parts. He was the underbelly of the band.Man they sound great here. What were the exact's on Dennis,You say he was sick??? I was watching the G.B. memorial and Dennis looked good.
Dennis had Crohn's disease. In the spring of 1998 he was admitted to hospital for an operation. The operation was successful and Dennis regained his health and weight and was well enough to attended the second Glen Buxton Memorial Weekend in October 1999.
Man I wish I had gone to that show and seen Glen one last time. I wish Glen had more camera time. Neal's drum solo freaking rocks! I love how he breaks into the intro to Billion Dollar Babies for a split second when he is comming out of the solo!
Boy, this brings back some incredible memories from back in "the day"...a smoke machine would have been really cool for Neal's solo...and some laser lights...YEA BABY! Neal hasn't lost his edge one bit...his drub kit has become a little smaller though...LOL. Love it! Love it to death! LC

Muscle of Love was the first record I ever purchased when I was 16. It came in a "plain brown wrapper" album cover.

Michael Bruce is Vocals + Guitar
Glen "Blond Bomber" Buxton on the right side
The guy in the middle I don't recognise
Neal was the drummer with the longest hair, but Dennis came second!

It may seem that way since Jeff was on the camera and kept the shot mostly on MB but look again and see that GB and MB were dual lead and rythm on it.
I am not dissing MB at all...he is still da man.
