Torts are civil offenses, not criminal, so typically they result in as lawsuits.

So if you go in and sue for $1500, you'll receive $6500 and the other person will get $3500. @thumper444 this is actually not true. Ebay sides with the buyer over 99% of the time. You can throw up shit like no returns, no refunds etc. but it still doesn't matter. If the buyer says it doesn't match the description 100%, Ebay will side with you and force a return. You can also do this through paypal.
I don't know how old this video is, but in today's ebay, Judge Judy would not be necessary. Ebay's Buyer Protection is *real* - ebay would have taken the money back from the seller's paypal account, refunded the buyer, and kicked the seller off ebay.

@Elegiafy Each person who appears on Judge Judy gets a $5000 appearance fee. Any judgement is taken out of that fee and given to the other person. So if you go in and sue for $1500, you'll receive $6500 and the other person will get $3500. In this case, The defendant made Judge Judy so mad, she gave the plaintiff the entire appearance fee of the defendant.

There's nothing biased or unjust here, it's small claims court and the litigants have the option of hiring an attorney to represent them if they so choose.

@thumper444 this is actually not true. Ebay sides with the buyer over 99% of the time. You can throw up shit like no returns, no refunds etc. but it still doesn't matter. If the buyer says it doesn't match the description 100%, Ebay will side with you and force a return. You can also do this through paypal.

I don't know how old this video is, but in today's ebay, Judge Judy would not be necessary. Ebay's Buyer Protection is *real* - ebay would have taken the money back from the seller's paypal account, refunded the buyer, and kicked the seller off ebay.
