Thus now the Shadow Lords will come about because of that gem in Ultima 5. Then after that apart of you becomes the Guardian. Then you finally get to accend in Ultima 9.

The ending I played had slightly different graphics. I had the original Ultima for the Apple ][. But the idea was the same.

You can get the gem before attacking Mondain.

I think I know why I couldn't finish the game. I didn't have enough hit points to grab the gem and survive.

@Modighen over 9000 points damage = epic pwnage, almost 1/2 falcon punch performed by chuck norris.

if i had been mondain, i would just have escaped with the time machine or destroyed it - leaving the avatar stranded on the edge of time forever.
