  • B e a u t y i n m o t i o n . . .

  • its a takamine np-15

  • That guitar is insane, he has worn the side out of it! Fucking awesome.

  • @Mr2ct7 i am actually in love with that guitar!

  • Raw talent. Raw passion. Bloody brilliant.

  • same guitar in every live version ive seen them in!

  • Fully livens up in his words the man. Very intense. Beautiful to watch. Thanks

  • WHO DISLIKED THIS?!?!!?

  • @MaJixGAGT someone who couldnt understand english and was pissed cause they couldnt understand the awesome lyrics.

  • He has so much passion!

  • amazing

  • watching performances of this song never gets old, cause ever time they do it it's different.

  • can someone please tell me what kind and what model guitar that is

  • @zt122: It's a Takamine, most likely an NP15, which is a discontinued model. They were built with solid cedar tops, which explains both the beautiful tone and the wear and tear (cedar is a relatively soft wood).

  • So Good! Reminds me a little of Joni Mitchell...

  • at one point it must get pretty tiring and difficult for Glen to still connect with this song... because its so emotional

  • The shit, the shit, the shit. If there was ever a moment in time that was the shit it was the moment of this studio session in the making. Once again... The shit, the shit, the shit.

  • @millicentbistander could not have been said more eloquiently.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! Glen and Marketa are incredible. Wow.

  • Great singer. Hate that overly boomy and compressed DJ voice at the end though

  • @camel747 Jian Ghomeshi is one of the best hosts on CBC Radio today. Just sayin'.

  • Swell Season make absolutely beautiful music but wouldn`t a pickguard have been a good idea for that poor guitar!

  • freaking beautiful !

  • notice how the pick strokes fit perfectly with the holes in the body of the guitar.

I think he had that ol taka since the dawn of time.. hehe

So awesome song. So far all they did was impress me again and again.

Deffo my new favorites. IN THE WORLD! :)

  • I fucking love this song.

    I adore Glen Hansford!

He is out of this world. Amazing.

This may be my new theme song.

  • Awesome I Love them :D

  • his poor guitar

  • very van gough

  • This song reminds me of a warm blanket... safe, protected and comfortable. Don't ever turn it off. If the world could live as this song sounds we'd really have something... why are we all in such a big rush anyways? Breathe, look around, and witness what we are all doing to one another. It's not pretty. I think we could all use a little low rising these days. I'm in... who's with me?

  • Pure class song, up there with the greatest songs ever.

  • I was wondering whether or not Glen's guitar was really full of holes like that or it was made to look that way? ??

  • he just has played it really hard and hasn't gotten a new one!! so it's really like that nataurally haha, full of holes

  • @goodeone92 when you play guitar for a long time and strum alot.. it scratches the botton little by little. the guitar i got 2 years ago is a bit scrathced up but not even close as glen's.

he started playing since he was before 13... so im guessing its natural wear.

  • just from playing it so much, he doesn't have a pick guard.

  • @goodeone92 not to be an ass, but his musical personality should lead you to believe that he would not purchase a guitar with holes in it for the looks.

  • I love his music and style. The way he uses that beaten guitar, so cool.

  • if I could sing like that... then I wouldn't suck. Glen Hansard is probably the best singer and songwriter out there right now. Everything he does is always top notch. there's very few people who can match his voice, and his music.

  • i agree wholeheartedly.

  • You should check out The Frames back catalogue then. Or just start with the liver album Set List & work back. Amazing!

  • I've been listening to The Frames for years :P but thanks anyway!

  • I love HD

  • One of the most passionate singers on the circuit. It looks as if the music almost hurts him, Awesome Singer.

  • nothing but truth - it's a rarity in nowadays showbiz and therefore this delivery is so catchy

  • what a song!! what a guy! love his voice

  • try to find YT's vid called Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova - 3. Sleeping - a perfect performance from Czech TV

  • just a point for the people making this video, they didnt become the swell season after the movie, they made and released an album under the name before the movie took off. falling slowly is on it, its a slightly different version though, as is the original full Frames version of it. simply out of this world. :)

  • nice. from one fan to another...nice.

like this version....im starting to like it.

however, if you go to itunes and listen to the album version...its so produced with the bass guitar, etc....its hard to like it.

    i prefer the acoustic.

  • What is The Swell Season? TV show or Movie?

  • Hola Flores... ¡Me encanta tu nombre!

The Swell Season is the name of the band composed of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova and nowadays backed by members of The Frames, Hansard's original band. It's not a TV show but it has a strong connection with a movie called ONCE. Glen and Marketa wrote the music for and starred in that movie. They also won an Oscar for one of the songs in the movie.

Check out the movie ONCE - it's amazing!

  • Thank you! I will see the movie. And thank you I like your name too.

  • Swell Season is Glen Hansard, Markita Irglova, and Glen's band The Frames.

    They are simply magic

  • Thank you. They are wonderful.

  • A band

  • Swell Season is the band's name. The guy is also in another band called The Frames. The movie is called"Once".

  • Thanks Stevie,

    I will see the movie.

  • Oh you are blessed to have not seen the movie. Cause now you can go and see it. Its stunning. Careful you dont fall in love.

  • Loved the movie, and I love Frames!

    :D

  • I love this acoustic version

  • C'mon Webmaster, where is the rest of this footage? Please!? Pretty Please? Pretty Please with sugar and candy and cherries on top? Please!

  • haha, you're funny

  • This guy knows how to write a good song! very powerful wow

  • Grym låt

  • One word, "Bang!" Bang goes the gun 17 seconds into the vid. Like an eighteen hundred mile an hour bullet hitting you right between the eyes, it's entry delivers you to the purity of bliss... to the beauty.

  • Wow! Well said ,almost poetic. Spot on too!

  • its funny how they both probably wrote a lot of the break-up songs about each other, and then play them together...it works

  • IS the interview part to be uploaded at all?

  • This is lovely

  • This is awesome, can't wait for their new album 27 Oct '09. :D

  • its out now;)

    i have it yo:P

  • Thank you for introducing more listeners to the duo, and hopefully to The Frames because of it. Both entities are amazing in their own right and I have been extremely disappointed with Canada's realization of this talent. For those of us in the central, less populated regions of the country, we will never be able to see them live. At least not without considerable cost.

  • Love it!

  • I like his intensity even if it's just for Canadian radio.. well done

  • I saw Once, it was a good movie.

    Nice singing. Ta.

  • Great song....It is also a new way of give a deeper sound to your guitar....!
