Hello guys, I have a question, for anyone who speaks Mongolian, or who is wanting to learn it, and may know the answer. I have the language on my laptop, to be able to type in it, and I've been typing out some words, in Word, in big font, to better see them, and I've been writing them down on my dry-erase board. The problem is, some aren't coming out correct, I don't know how to differentiate between the o and the o(with dots), and other such things. I think that's the problem.
@ilymgl 'You're technically speaking English, meaning you want non Cyrillic people to learn.' - not necessarily. Unless she spoke Russian, she would still use English as a mutual language in which to teach her lessons.
Besides, she has made two lessonson HOW to read the Cyrillic alphabet, so if you do the lessons in the right order, what's the problem? I want to learn how to write Mongolian as well as speak it...
I remember mishearing 1 as 'ni' then I kept on repeating it to get the same 'feel' then our Chinese friend thought I was saying 'you' in chinese and she was like 'Wo~ Ni' She thought I was trying to speak Chinese instead of trying to count in Mongolian. I was quite dumbfounded when she suddenly interrupted, so me and my Mongolian friend just followed through. :))
I can't understand why some Mongolian teachers feel the need to pronounce the Cyrillic B like it is pronounced in Russian (v like in English van). It sounds very far-fetched and unnatural. When saying 3 and 4 she pronounces a strained v (gurav döröv) but in thirteen and fourteen she uses the w sound (arwan guraw, arwan döröw). Apart from this she's cool.
Sorry but I had to laugh when I've read your comment. That what you have written in Cyrillic to be paid differently. hihi some example Cannot- Zannot hihih
@jozy09812 yor komment ryly mejd mi laf in a gud lej, aj em fasynejtyd baj de dajwersyti of lenglydzes. Aj tink Mongolian ys wery bjutyful. Gud lak maj frend.
Mongol were named by Serbian masters of the step over 2000 years ago (ancestors of modern Russians). "Mnogo golyi" literaly translates into "lots of naked barbarians", am i striking anything?
also known as "lies, propaganda, and misinformation". Don't worry. Mongolia is an island of freedom surrounded by countries of despotism and oppression
Quote: Only those numbers are TOTALLY different, which makes them not Altaic but Russian.
It is actually not,Russian and Mongolian numbers are completely different and why do u Turks try to convince others that Mongolian and Turks have the same ancestors?Turks have mere Mongolian blood which was brought by Mongolian soldiers when Chinggis khan conquered 'Sartuul' and Turksish women got children from the soldiers.Read your history and get correct information from the books
Turkic and Mongolic languages are both Altaic, but even if we have lived for thousands of year; the only number close to the Turkic languages is "döröv" which means "four". it is dört/tört/tüört in Turkic languages. I am shocked really. No similarity between the others. The Siberian Hansi-Mansi (Uralic) languages are much closer, lol.
We have MUCH common words in Turkic and Mongolian, wtf are you saying? Like: Kagan, deniz, keci, ulus, altan, avci arslan, elma, arpa ... 90% of Turkic and Mongolian is the same.
Only those numbers are TOTALLY different, which makes them not Altaic but Russian.
I didn't say it doesn't have cognates (similar words), I just said that Mongolian isn't a Turkic language. They are in fact from the same language family, but from different branches.
Thats true, but don't forget, Proto-Turkic and Proto-Mongolian was simply the Altay language, the Otigin yis. Even then it would have little similarities but it has NONE 0%. Old Mongolian numbers were like Turkic: bir iki uc tort bis altu yidi skiz toguz un. Why is it so different now? Because it is not Altaic and is adepted from another language.
I love the uigur-mong. script too, but you have to admit, the russian script , you cant miss-read (I´m thinking about vovels, K´s and G´s, T´s and D´s and such)
I started learning mongolian and so the script of inner-mongolia is so hard to read for me..even though it is really, really beautiful
anyone know, where i can find this kind of music in the begin :)

@ilymgl there is a lesson to learn the Cyrillic alphabet. After a few days of practice, the numbers should be readable.
