Some of the stills look like Abe from the Hellboy movies. Instead of remaking it, why not just colorize it. I like what they have done with the Ray Harryhousin movies. They digitized them, improved the audio and colorized them with a computer.

I wish they'd quit making remakes but if they make money they're going to do it. When they remake Creature from the Black Lagoon I'd just as soon have them design him after the original. I have several 'creature' items including the aurora model, 16' creature, and creature waterball (snow globe). I've always liked the way this monster looks. I'm sure they'll change him completely.

Most who make these shitty remakes weren't even born when they were first shown in theaters. Haven't a clue to the feeling of that first experience. They come across like E.T.'s receiving a transmission from Earth & trying to recreate the feeling on there own planet. It just doesn't work!.

About maybe 5 or 6 years back, there

was a McFarland figure called the Sea Creature, which would have been great design for this movie.

It had the head of crocodile and it stood upright and was covered with spiny fins with a long tail. It looked almost like the Daedroth from the game "Elder Scrolls 4:Oblivion." I always did like more of a reptilian design myself.

These look awesome, I know some of them are not actual designs, like Monster Squad Creature, but these look great!

The drawing on 0:09 is very cool but maybe a little too snarling but it could work maybe. The CG image on 0:14 is a little to childish looking, like a pixar movie. The skull on 0:21 is very good, like the skeleton hand they found in the original but with a skull, cool. The last one on 0:24 is very good, I think this is my favorite, what he could use is some sharp teeth.

I hate costumes when used or the wrong scenes, and they look all rubbery and bouncy. CGI, puppets, and costumes all work together when used well. But too much of one over the other looks fake in 1or2 shots.

CGI is great for somethings but to replace a living creature with it is the same as watching a cartoon...it just doesn't feel right. Predator is a fairly new design...it's not CGI and he looks awesome, so it can be done.

For the record I don't HATE CGI. It's just that it's such an overused thing these days and only looks good if done with a big budget and good effects team. Back then there was a bigger use of creativity. CGI can pay off sometimes though. Like with the Alien. They move alot faster with CGI than in the original. However they don't look as scary up close. They only move better. Still everytime Woodruff actually is on screen he makes it work. I hope they'll try old effects and bring Carpenter back.

I don't care what anyone says. I think the creature back then still looks incredible today. A man in a suit can look fake and granted this was made at the time horror was in a B- range. However there was such an amount of skill in it. Riccou especially made the monster look creepy. When he's on land he looks more fake and all but still cool, but in the water he's fantastic! This proves a film didn't have to have a high budget or be CGI to be good. I expect the remake might use both now sadly.
